An appointment was made to have D&D come pick up the curio and take it to their shop to be fixed - that appointment was cancelled because they were overbooked - so a second appointment was made. That one for whatever reason (I'm not remembering was cancelled too) I ended up having to call them to reschedule! The next appointment was cancelled due to inclement weather (which is very understandable) however I was told they would call me the following Monday to reschedule - which never happened and I again had to call them. A new pick up date was scheduled, gets near the time and date for that pick up and I'm called and asked if I have anyone at the location to help load the curio onto their truck??? I said 'no, and if I didn't I wouldn't allow them to because that is not our job" I was then told they would have to reschedule but yet again because they didn't have the manpower to get the curio because is was, at this point (almost a month later) near the holiday and their employees were on vacation. I was again told they would call to reschedule after the holiday. Shocking (not) I had to call them again to get a pick up scheduled. The person who answered the phone set me a new date and within a few hours someone else was calling to say the female who set the appointment didn't know the schedule so they had to RESCHEDUL:E me AGAIN!!! Finally on January 3rd the curio cabinet was picked up to be taken to be restored.
I was initially told it would take 5-7 business days to restore and that they would call me to schedule a return, that would have been January 14th - this date came and went and I heard nothing so I called January 16th only to be told that the damage to the cabinet was far worse than they anticipated and had they known how bad it was they would have charged the moving company more money but were stuck pricing wise with the bid they submitted. (Sorry, but that's not my issue) I was told it would take an additional 3-5 days and I would hear back about delivery. AGAIN that date passed with no call so I waited an additonal 2 business days and called them 8:00 a.m. CST Monday, January 27th and let a voice message. January 28th 9:00 a.m. I still had not heard back from them so I called again!
Thankfully someone answered the phone and I was told she walked into the warehouse and the curio was lying in pieces on the floor and it looked like they were still working on it; when I mentioned it was to be completed last Thursday I was told the cold weather does delay the time and the amount of work that can be done on it. My reply was "Okay, I understand that is possibly true and don't have an issue with that - what I do have an issue with is no one keeping me informed and returning calls as I'm being told they would". I was asked for my email address so that they could send me updates that way - I gave it to them and did receive an email minutes later stating the same thing I was just verbally told over the phone. BUT at least they communicated :)
I am now being told once again that it will take an additional 5-7 working days to complete the curio and they will call by the seventh day to set up a delivery...I guess time will tell.
In my opinion: Regardless of how their quality may be (which remains to be seen) this company has very poor communication skills and non satisfactory customer service. No one seems to care that any of this has happened or that I am not happy, which I have communicated verbally and in writing.
I HIGHLY recommend you look for another restoration company to meet your needs unless you want to do all the leg work and keep tabs on the progress and are not in a hurry for your item.
