I recently filed with the BBB and am now in the process of hiring an attorney, as the BBB also received no response from this individual. However, please note that he is still in business as I had many friends contact him and he was more than willing to take on the work...he just will not adhere to his signed contracts once work is "complete" in his terms, and will not live up to his agreements. Please do not use this individual for any foundation or repair work, as he will take your money and run, no matter what agreements he signs.
Owner/Contractor Name: Joe Rodriguez
Company Name: AGA Foundation Repair and Concrete Work
Letter sent to the BBB as of July 18th, 2011
Filed against : AGA Foundation Repair & Concrete Work125 E. McCoulskey Terrell TX 75160
Complaint Description: I signed a contract with AGA on 10/30/08 for foundation repair. Foundation repair was completed within 1 month, however, it was understood and known that the foundaton would still need modifications within a year due to setteling. The contract signed also indicates that the "contractor guarantees cost free pier and adjustment for a period of 10 years". I called the contractor out again within 8 months as the house had begun shiftin again and the foundation would need to be adjusted. After calling time and time again, and multiple cancellations on the contractors part, he finally sent a worker out out in September of 2010, and the worker spent half a day trying to adjust my pier/beam foundation. They were not done when it began raining, and they left, with the assurance from the contractor that they would be out to finish fixing the pier/beam foundation. This was the last time I saw/heard from the contractor. Since this last time I saw them, I have called numerous times daily, weekly and monthly, and when his phone is not "off", I have left messages on his cell and at home. Neither of which have caused this contractor to call me back. If this does not get resolved soon (as my house is still shifting/sinking), I have no other alternative other than to seek legal action.
Your Desired Resolution: The total amount I paid for the work was $7910.00. While the initial work was done, I also felt as if I was paying for the "guarantee" of work to be "completed" which meant the knowledge that the pier/beam would be adjusted by the contractor, as the house continued to move/shift, for a period of no more than 10 years. I did not expect that it would actually "take" the contractor a period of 10 years to respond and fix the work he began. I have now been subjected to looking for additional contractors to correct the foundation issues in my home, and "again", pay out more money that I believe I have already paid to one contractor for the work. I am looking for partial refund from this contractor, in order to actually correct and finish the foundation repair that I will need to pay another contractor.
