"This is the second bad review from this customer. Two years ago I posted a response to the customers concerns, please read it. Popular Flooring is a family owned business but no relatives work here or perform installations. I did not receive an opportunity to inspect the work the customer claims we performed, and did not know anything about her dissatisfaction until the first reveiw, four years after installation. I still maintain the customer is confusing my company with contractors hired directly by the customer. Happy to discuss situation with anyone including customer."
I will never use them again and I have let it be known(thru pics, personal showings), this company has the cheapest prices for a reason. I believe they are the ones putting out all the favorable reviews on themselves, because several people have had bad experiences w/ them.
Popular Flooring is the worst business I have ever had the displeasure of using.
"I am always concerned when a customer is not happy with my business. Let me start by saying I have never ignored a customer with a problem, as manager (at the time) or as owner (now). I would like to respond with more certainty to the problems of [Member name removed], but the installation happened many years ago, and the review was not posted until four years later. I will report for you the computer records and dates that I have for [Member name removed] in hope of shedding light on what happened. 09/25/2008 Inv. #7723 - I sold and installed 31 sq. yards of Sculpture carpet and 29 sq. yards of Berber carpet. This installation was performed by my number one installation crew that had been working here for two years at the time with many complements. This is almost one year prior to the completion date given by [Member name removed]. 10/01/2008 Inv. #7717 - [Member name removed] purchased 11 sq. yards of outdoor carpeting that Popular Flooring did not install. If we did a bad installation on the previous invoice, why return and purchase more unrelated material a month later. 04/16/2009 Inv. #8317 - [Member name removed] returned and purchased 8 sq. yards more of the sculpture carpet and 29 sq. yards of the same Berber carpet installation was not included with this sale. This invoice is in the time frame of what Mrs. Wells refers too. I believe the water damage and repair occurred between this time and the original installation. 07/18/2009 Inv. #4040 (the completion date [Member name removed] referenced) - We sold [Member name removed] two bags of floor leveling compound. This would be used to fill the “English Channel” [Member name removed] mentioned. [Member name removed] purchased “materials only” from us to repair her floor after the water leak. If we did the poor job [Member name removed] claimed, why purchase this material from us? My records for [Member name removed] ends here. This timeline of purchases does not exactly follow the chain of events that [Member name removed] is describing. It seems clear to me that this job was performed twice once in 2008 by my company and again in 2009 by someone else. My thought is that [Member name removed] is confusing the second installation with my company, since we simply don’t treat our customers in the manner she described. I would also like to respond to additional claims made by [Member name removed]: “Then they laid the tile next to the Berber and used BLACK 1 inch wide molding between the two materials” I have no record of selling or installing tile for [Member name removed]. I believe it is possible the contractor that did the “major plumbing repair” was the one that arranged or did the installation of the new flooring and tile. We cannot be responsible for the craftsmanship of installers hired outside of our company. “I believe they are the ones putting out all the favorable reviews on themselves” I am unaware of the reviews [Member name removed] is referring to but I take my reputation very seriously, and I would never make up a review. I hope that I have shed some light on the unfortunate situation that occurred to [Member name removed], and I would be happy to provide a list of satisfied customers to anyone that asks. Thank You, W.B. Marks –Owner Popular Flooring Company"
