I had to cut down a tree so their rig could have clearance to pull the 20' joints of pipe and this took time so we scheduled this for early fall. They advised regarding running the pump intermittently and cautioned it could create a bigger problem if it were run. We turned the well off and used our City water for watering plants, etc. until the work could be done. When called to fix the well they were prompt in coming out to pull the pipe and pump to see what the actual problem was. The determination was a hole in the pipe and possibly the lack of enough water to continuously run the well for long periods of time. We discussed options and with the age of the pipe, wiring, and pump it was determined the best course of action was to replace it all. They returned in a few days (at my schedule - they were very easy to work with and flexible) and reinstalled the pump with new pipe, wiring, and a shutoff switch to keep the pump from burning up if the well went dry. They tested the well for water production before finishing off the plumbing and determined that the well was indeed pumping dry - so the shutoff switch was a good idea as it would recycle in 20 minutes to pump again. They were profession and easy to get along with. They cleaned up all trimmings of tape, caps, etc. and put everything back like they found it.
