Jennifer consulted with me as to what I wanted, which was a granite countertop for a small powder room vanity. She showed me some ideas in their granite yard. I looked around by myself, too. I chose several possible remnants. I visited the granite yard a few times, bringing paint samples and other color samples to match to the granite. Jennifer helped me decide how much overlap I wanted where the countertop would overlap the cabinet I had bought and made sure I gave her the right measurements and choices needed. When I was looking at the available remnants, Jennifer created a price list for me, using the measurements I gave her, and showing the price of a countertop for me made with each level of granite in the yard. That made it easy for me to know how much I would be paying for any remnant I looked at. The sink and installation fees were extra. The sink Jand H provided was good quality for a good price, which I learned upon doing some shopping - I would have provided my own sink, but theirs was the best for the best price!
Jennifer was very helpful and was a good listener when I told her about my powder room choices and the work I was doing to update the room. For a 24and quot; cabinet, Jennifer spent a lot of time with me!
Jennifer was easily available by phone most of the time. She had good messages letting me know when she would be available if she was not available. After I had chosen my granite remnant, Jennifer left it in the yard but made a note in her computer that I had claimed this piece. I was not ready for the countertop until the rest of the powder room was finished. Then there were the holidays and a vacation we had planned in January before we would be ready. Jand H kept the granite for me for about 3 months. I visited a number of times with samples of things I wanted to put in the room to match the colors.
Jennifer showed me the choices for the edge and the sinks that would fit the measurement, and I made choices. Then Kevin, who is Jennifer's brother, worked with me to choose the way I would want the countertop and where in the pattern of the granite to set the sink in it. He used a photo of the countertop to email me some choices. He gave me his expert advice about some flaws in the granite. There were some spots at the edge of the remnant that I liked a lot, and he was careful to set up the plan so that those spots would be there in my countertop.
The man who installed the countertop did a careful, neat, and excellent job. He was pleasant to work with, too.
Everybody at Jand H was very helpful and focused on my project throughout my time working with them. It was a small project that created the highlight of our guest powder room! Everybody who goes in there compliments the room!

I had gone to their shop, and picked out granite for my kitchen island and countertops.
The owner convinced me to buy a double sink, the faucet, a soap dispenser, and a push-button garbage disposal. He did not include the drain for the second sink and I had to go back later and beg for the item in order to have the sink installed.
After I had went to the shop the owner came out to measure the island and countertops.
The workman brought in the large piece of granite and had to cut the sink opening on-site (and quot;otherwise the granite would breakand quot;)
they reassured me that it would not be a problem because they would put up a plastic barrier from the ceiling to keep the granite dust in. Well as they were cutting the plastic barrier fell and granite dust went everywhere......one month later my parrot died from the dust.
They also broke the door on my dishwasher when they moved it to lay the large island granite piece. The dishwasher leaked after that and had to be replaced. However my parrot could not be replaced.
After the installation I made numerous attempts to get the owner out to see the flaws in the granite, and that my dishwasher was leaking, my parrot had not died yet.......he never came out.
When the double sink backed up because the garbage disposal was inferior I had enough, I called for the owner to see the damage and he just yelled at me and said I should pay the balance of the bill and hung up on me. I had paid 2/3 of the cost and wanted things to be right before I paid the rest.
I just wanted to get some results instead, the owner sued me. He had a lawyer that made me look like I was the thief and the owner the victim. The court did not listen to my side.
There was a judgement made against me and I paid the balance and the owners lawyer fee, hoping I could get passed all this.
Then I found out they had not released the judgement in court and had to call his lawyer and the court to get it released.
Response from J & H Granite
"While it was sad that J&H Granite Inc. had to take Member to court to receive payment for the balance she owed. It is even sadder, that nearly five years after Judge Judy Hobbs (Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4, Williamson County, Texas) ruled in favor of J&H Granite Inc, that Member continues to attempt to spread lies concerning the work that was performed at her home. The statements she made in court and here in this post have been shown to be both, untruthful and inaccurate. J&H Granite takes pride in its customer satisfaction and stands behind its reputation which is clearly represented by the other members of Angie’s List, who have been nice enough to share their experiences between themselves and our company. Overall experience was very good and I'm so pleased with my new countertop. The team at Jand H was professional and efficient. Jennifer and Kevin were very helpful and offered good advice on all aspects of the sale -- color, slab selection, edge, sink. They promptly returned phone calls and emails. The template maker was very thorough and the installers were awesome! I was replacing a laminate countertop and keeping my existing backsplash. Installers removed old countertop without breaking any of my backsplash tiles. After removal of old countertop, they came prepared to build up my counter height with shims so there was not a big gap between new granite and the backsplash. They were very tidy, used a vacuum with drill so dust didn't get in all the lower cabinets and throughout the house. When they left everything was as clean as when they arrived.

This was the best experience that we have had with our remodel! We have replaced countertops with granite in other houses before, but the ease of this whole process was great. There were no surprises or hidden costs. After contacting Jennifer, she sent Ricardo to measure, sent the bid within a day and after visiting the slab yard, we had our job finished in a week. This company also has a computer program to show how your particular piece of granite will look finished (or where the veining, etc will be). The installers were wonderful as well. Can't say enough good things about this company!

Jennifer and the crew at J and H Granite were fantastic! I wanted white marble countertops for my kitchen and was having a difficult time finding a company in Austin to fabricate and install marble. Most places only deal in granite and actually dissuade from marble. Jennifer showed me many photos of slabs from other places and worked to get a slab delivered to Austin. They did an excellent job installing in an older home. I actually thought I was the only customer because my emails were always answered almost immediately and we had many discussions about different edges and types of stone. I LOVE my counters. Thank you J and H Granite!
