Tru Color Painting

He was excellent. I was in California and he was in Texas doing the job. He would take pictures and communicated with me. Before he would do anything, he would confirm it with me. He was wonderful.

I needed to have these rooms painted at the last minute due to carpet installation, and Tommy was able to schedule the work for the day after I contacted him.  Everything went well, and work was done in one day.  Very nice crew,  Tommy even brought us all lunch.

The work was performed in an exceptional manner. The crew members were obviously very experienced and skillful. Their work was supervised by the owner, Tommy, who was present on site the entire time. We couldn't be happier with the results, and highly recommend them.

Tru-Color Painting was professional and treated our home with respect.  Tommy kept in contact with us daily and spent quite a bit of time on the job himself.  They did not pull off the project once it was started.  Everything looked good upon completion.  Tommy is a perfectionist.  I will use them again for future projects.

Tru Color painted the inside and outside of our rent house.  They had numerous cracks to repair in the house and did a great job.  James Gause kept in contact with us, letting us know when they were going to be there and how they were progressing.  Their price was reasonable. An A+ job.  We will be using in the future for other houses.

Tommy was a pleasure to work with. He is a great guy and easy to get along with. He is professional and his guys are quick, clean and good at what they do. Tommy makes sure the job is done and done well. We plan to hire him for our next job.

It has been several years since we used this provider so I am unable to remember all the details, but I would use this provider again.

I had just purchased a new home and wanted the interior painted before placing furniture.  They cam in and completed the whole job in just under a week.

His crew did an exellent job painting the wood siding on my house.  Their prep work was very detailed and comprehensive.  The paint itself was carefully applied and looks great.

Tommy Gause and his crew are very good,  very fast and a fair price. This was the best experience I have ever had with a contruction or painting crew.  You will be glad you hired him.

I am a person that gets several bids for the projects I hire out.  I contacted Tru Colors along with about 4 other companies when I decided to repaint the exterior of my home.  Tru Color was not the cheapest of my bids but I felt very comfortable with the owner Tommy after our first meeting, he took alot of time explaining the process and exactly what would be covered with his quote.  I was in bit of a time crunch because I wanted it done before the Holidays and Tommy definitely met my expectations.  He was able to get started on the house immediately.  Tommy was on site pretty much the entire time of the 3 day project and took every opportunity to go over the progress made each day.  I am very pleased with the finished results.  Neighbors stop by asking about the paint job.  I am definitely going with Tru colors on my next paint job.  I would ignore any bad reviews on this company.

goodness for Tommy Gause and Tru-Color Painting.  I had been searching for about four months







for someone to paint my two-story house but before it could be painted, several







of the fascia boards and trim pieces needed to be replaced.  Most of the companies would send a salesman







to look at the house and give me an estimate on painting the house but no one







was willing to actually get on the roof and inspect the wood to find specifically what needed to be replaced.















Tommy, who is the owner of Tru-Color Painting, brought his painter and carpenter with him







to actually inspect the house and give me an accurate estimate.  William got an extension ladder off the van







and walked all over the roof, checking each area for rotted wood as Tommy took notes on how many boards were needed. 







The next day, he called me with a very fair estimate on replacing the old wood, priming it, and then painting it to match the rest of the house.  Tommy was the only contractor who gave me a true and accurate estimate on completing the repairs separate from a bid to paint the entire house.  Other companies gave me a lump sum estimate for the repairs and painting so I was not sure what







I was being charged for each item.  Within the next couple of days, Tommy and his crew of three carpenters and painters







were at my house at 8:00 in the morning to begin the repairs.  It took them about two days to complete the work.  They did such a great job that we had them return in about a week to paint the entire house.















Tommy and his crew could not have been more courteous and were always willing to answer my questions or take my suggestions. They were there on time or even a little early and worked throughout the day.  They took about thirty minutes for







lunch and never left the property.  They protected all surfaces before painting and cleaned up thoroughly every day.















The thing I liked the most was that Tommy, the owner was there the entire day, every day with the crew unlike most companies who just send a supervisor who may not be familiar with the details of the job. Even more amazing was if I ever needed to call him, he actually answered the phone instead of some receptionist or answering machine.  I have referred Tommy and Tru-Color painting to several people and I would definitely hire them again.

Responded in a timely manner and kept all appoinments. Reasonable cleanup when job was finished. Senior supervisor was on site almost all of the time. Job was finished sooner than estimated.

When I met with Tru Color, my biggest cooncern was in the matching of the interior paint.  We have murals painted from our various world travels and it was a must to be able to paint around these murals and not damage them.  Great care was taken with the matching of the colors and protecting my murals.  The workers took great care when moving furniture and placing it back in its proper place.  The price might have been high, but I was extremely pleased with the final result.  I would definitely use them again.

They were very prompt an efficient. As soon as I called them, he was there to do an estimate. As soon as I accepted their bid, he and his crew were there the next day. Tommy is very personable. He spends time to find out what you need, what you can afford, and what would be best for the particular house or situation. His crew is just great. They are there when they are supposed to be and they do fabulous job. If you have any questions or anything, they will stop and talk to you about what's going on. The whole experience with them was really great. They were so good that people actually stopped to get his business card watching them do work on my house.

Tommy provided an estimate in a very timely manner. He took the time to discuss all work that needed to be done in detail. He explained different options and what was necessary to achieve the intended results (such as apply sealant to older drywall with a different color to prevent the need for multiple coats of paint). He even provided paint color suggestions and estimates for replacing appliances and carpeting. An estimate of the time required to compete the job was also provided. Tommy was given the go ahead for the job and started the next week.He started the job on time and completed it just as he said. The quality of workmanship was very good. I would highly recommend Tru Color for painting services.

Tommy provided an estimate the same day I called him and was willing to start that week.  I needed other work performed by an attic ventilation service first, so I put Tru Color on hold.  Tommy was flexible and understanding.  Once the other work was completed several weeks later, Tommy was available to start on my schedule.
Day One:  Pressure wash exterior, repair rotted wood trim, caulk seams and joints, mask front door.  Begin painting.
Day Two:  Painting continued.  Front door was changing from a light tan to a dark red, requiring multiple coats.  I did an initial walk around.  Tommy immediately redirected one of his crew to address the areas I pointed out that needed additional attention (caulking, thin spots ...)
Day Three:  Continue additional coats of front door.  Final walk around.
Tommy was good at asking questions and pointing out concerns.  For example, I knew the roof mounted exhaust stacks needed to be painted, but was incorrectly telling Tommy they needed to be the same color as the house trim.  After investigating (home owners documents), I found the clause stating the roof vents/stacks should match the color of the roof.  Tommy headed straight to his supplier to get the correct color.

Easy to work with... and went above and beyond when asked to be a couple of extras.

It turned out very well. He did a great job in all respects.

I had a great experience using Tru Color. Tommy was prompt in coming to review my home and provide a quote. Not to mention very personable and professional. For my work, I received quotes from them as well as a couple other highly rated companies from Angie's List. Tru Color was not the cheapest (another was ~$200 less), but Tommy's professionalism and throughness in quoting (detailing exactly what they would be doing) gave me a greater sense of confidence. that the job would be done well and to my expectations. I was not disappointed in the least and believe the extra cost was worth it. His crew worked over three days to pressure wash the house, caulk, then paint. The end result is that house looks great and I am very satisified.
One thing I experienced during the work that may win Tommy more business with me is the self checking of his crew. (note: tommy was with the crew each day) I opened the front door when I Tommy rang and there was a strip of protective tape still in place on the sill. He called over his lead guy and pointed it out. This guy then called the guy that painted the door and started going on in spanish about how they only do top notch work and that this was unacceptable, they can't let the little things go,...etc, etc. I just happen to be a big g***** that knows spanish (but didn't let on) so I understood the berating the guy was taking by putting a ding into their (the painters) reputation. While this was a no big deal item to me, I truly appreciated the pride the lead guy took in his work and again gave me confidence that even the places I will never look at around the house are probably done perfectly. I suspect tape has not been left behind since. :-)

I got several estimates for painting the entire exterior of our home.  Tommy gave me the most complete estimate and pointed out several steps he takes to prep the siding before painting.  His crew caulked and scraped the window headers prior to painting.  His price was very fair, and he used an excellent quality of paint and primer.  He did some repair to the siding, and the cost was very reasonable.  He was always present when work was being done, and his crew was efficient and polite.  I am very happy with the quality of the work, and Tommy was fantastic responding to questions.  We will soon be using his company to paint the inside of our home.

I talked Tommy Gause and he came out promptly, gave a very detailed estimate, was able to start immediately. His crew is excellent-they really knew what they were doing. We saw some problem areas that they came back to address. It was a very positive experience. His price was very competitive and fair.

We are thinking about having them come back to do work inside the house.
