Description of Work: Took in 2 dyson vacs to be cleaned and serviced. One needed a hose replacement. Was told it would take a week possibly two depending upon parts. Also told me that they didnt think dysons were worth the money (they also sell vacuums. Took two weeks for them to clean, then when I went to pick up they were still waiting on a hose for one so I left it. It took almost 2 months for them to get the hose. They then called and left a message the day I left for Europe for a week. Two days after I returned, they called at 1:00 and left a message that if I didnt pick up and pay for my dyson by 5pm that day, they were selling it because it had been there for over 2 months! It took them over 2 months to get the part in and I had been out of town the week that they called and said it was ready. I had to leave work early to get there by 5, paid and took my vac, then the hose attachement came off the next week. I will never go there again.

 + -1 moreThe brush roller had stopped turning and the button the was supposed to turn the brush on or off would not start it again. I took the cleaner in to see if it could be fixed. The owner came in while I was there, plugged the cleaner in, worked with it a minute and the brush started turning again. He showed me there is a reset button (separate from the other button). All it needed was resetting. I needed a new filter and that was the only charge made to me.
Description of Work: Fixed my Dyson cleaner.

 + -1 moreOur 4-month old Hoover upright vacuum cleaner was making a terrible noise. We got on Angie's List to find a repair location nearby and, luckily, came across this company. Talked to Marie and took the vacuum in for her to listen to. Turns out that only the belt needed to be replaced. She did it on the spot. You can bet that when we are looking for a replacement for our Hoover, Marie will be the first person we contact.
Description of Work: Changed a belt on our vacuum cleaner.

 + -1 moreAs noted earlier, the technician arrived promptly and had thoughtfully brought along all the necessary products to address my problem, just in case the old unit needed to be replaced. He was very knowledgeable, polite and a pleasure to work with. In addition, Lone Star Vacuum, in Hurst, Texas has a real store front with various parts available. Many technicians who install home built-in vacuum units work out of their home. Nothing wrong with that but I liked the idea of a store available, close by.
Description of Work: My 20+ year old, built-in vacuum cleaner seemed to be providing reduced suction. Lone Star Vacuum (formerly Progress Vacuum) was within 2 miles of my home and they were listed as an authorized repair vacility for my model vacuum. I called on Wednesday and their technician "Andy" arrived before noon the next day. Andy agreed the unit was under performing. He used simple techniques I had not thought of to rule out a clogged or broken vacuum line in the house. We agreed I needed a new unit. I asked to get on his list and he replied he had brought several units in his truck. In less than an hour the new power unit (MD Silent Master) was installed and I had purchased a new powerbrush unit (Beam Serenity Plus) which Andy had brought along also. My wife is very sayisfied with these products, both of which were purchased following Andy's recommendation (I had already researched the question and knew MD to be a top quality product line).
