The work itself was fine. In hindsight, I should have insisted on meeting the estimator on-site to walk thru exactly what work I wanted them to do. Despite me sending a detailed list of items to price at the beginning, and then correcting them on their estimates, things were missed along the way. The disconnect between an owner in another city (me), the estimator never visiting the jobsite, and all communication going thru a third party leads to this kind of thing. The project manager and office staff were friendly and helpful. The miscommunication was frustrating.

Administrative coordination poor: Office personnel rude and lacks integrity and knowledge about construction processes. Lacks basic accounting skills, relies on software. Field Forman: Respectful and polite. Lacks technology to manage multiple jobs. Over tasked to visit job sites until asked. Unsuccessful at maintaining performance standards for subcontractors. Homeowner coordinated with subs on issue resolution. Asked for on site meetings only after issues reported. Failed to have initial issues resolved without allowing subs to create new issues. Flooring: Chris Exceeded expectations with coordination and tasking for crews. Maintained supervision of subs and quickly worked to schedule revisits for issue resolution. I would recommend Alcosta flooring to a friend. Painter: Started strong, quickly declined with personnel no shows. Failed to allow drying time for texture and paint before second coat. Did not prime drywall or texture and ordered wrong paint sheen.

Was a nightmare! Too many problems to list. Main problem was with extremely poor quality work by contracted craftsmen (tile, plumbers, painters)... not with management!

We had some repairs which made big holes in the foundation of our house and they came and replaced the tile. The insurance paid for most of it and I paid only for a part of it. The work turned out good. The sub-contractor who did the tile work was very good. They talked to us and walked us through the process. It was my first house project and I have been living in this house for so many years. That was very good and they walked us through stuff. The organization and the office were not so good with coordinating between all the different players. That was the only complaint I had and they came through with everything. At the end of it everything was taken care of. I would use them on another project and I have already got a quote from them.
