When a large pine tree from a vacant lot fell on our house it created a massive hole. Trusses were shattered as well as nine rafters. Serious water poured into our home. We called David Dierksheide at Utopia Roofers, whom we had used before, and we was on site with two hours, checking damage, giving estimates and advice. He pulled a city building permit for us since damages went beyond simple repairs, through a 10-man crew on the job and did all repairs in one day for a very reasonable price. He worked with our insurance adjustor and agent every step of the way. He also helped us line up other service providers to repair interior damage. David is completely honest, fair and responsive and his crew is outstanding. I cannot image using any other roofer.

It was great David was so professional and efficient. He had to order the shingles so he did a temporary patch for a couple of days. As soon as the singles arrive David was up on the roof taking care of it. It took him maybe an hour. Perfect you can not even tell where it was damaged.

They did all the work plus cleaned up after themselves and hauled trash off in a matter of three days.

There were a couple things that I didn't like. They were evasive in their description of the work before they started. I don't know if it was because I was a woman and they just didn't need to explain it to me. I got that feeling. I was dealing with the owner, he was on site. The price was okay. The quality is still being determined. I have a pergola that's attached to the house and I was looking up there. They apparently took off the flashing, beaded it out, and then put it back on. I don't think that is professional, I think it should have been new flashing. They did say that I could call them back. One of the other things that happened was that there were some places where the roofing was sticking up on the end. I asked him about it and he said it will lay down. I asked him why he used them and not something that was flat. He said they'll lay down and not to worry about it. That's what I'm talking about as far as not giving me good answers. If you were a professional, why would you use pieces that were curled up on the end and use them on the roof. To me, the experience was very uncomfortable and I have a feeling it had to do with me being a female.
