I called 26 days ago about a bid for a sprinkler system for my father's lake house (it was a Monday, day ). The owner, Paul, assured me he'd get out there by the end of the week to check it out. Having never heard back at on Friday, I called him back. He apologized for not making it out, but apparently he was really busy all week. He was going on vacation the next day, so he said he would do it first thing when he got back (a week and a half later on Tuesday, Day 16). I understood and said that was alright.
He made it out to assess the yard the day he said he would after his vacation. I only know because my father was there when Paul came out. Haven't heard from him since, and it's Friday of the following week (Day 26)! I called Monday, and the lady recognized my voice. She claimed he's been really busy, but she'd get it from him that night and call me. I didn't get a call. I called early yesterday (Thursday), and the lady recognized me again. She swore he'd be in today and she said she has seen him working on it. She swore he'd call when he got in. Still no call!
I've cancelled the bid. What a tremendous waste of my time! I would never trust this guy to do my yard. I mean, they're usually on their BEST behavior before you buy, then they can be lazy once the money is in their pocket. Not this guy! He's lazy from the get-go!
Avoid at all cost!
The installation went well...Tommy the foreman, was responsive and handled both installs well.
My only problem came after the sell when I tried to get my final layout drawings and a couple of adjustments that were promised. I emailed the owner three times over a month period to get these final steps done but did not hear back.
On my third and final email saying I was done with trying and would go ahead and do my reviews of job and service done I got a call from Paul, the owner. He was yelling at me saying that he had answered my email, which I have no record of, and told me to stop threatening him, which I wasn't. I just wanted someone to answer me, give me an update do what they said they would do.
