Original quote was $5800, later increased to $7800 and then $8000. Also, a significant portion of the work originally discussed was not actually done. All of the facia boards were replaced, but most soffit boards were not. In fact, only one section of sofitt board was replaced after I pointed out to the workers that it was rotting and quite literally falling off. All other boards, including those with rot where not replaced, but rather, just painted over. The paint job performed was decent, but not great. It is easy to see places where paint had dripped before drying and type of paint was not discussed before the job. So now I have a glossy house. And an electrical box that was removed for painting was not bolted back to the soffit so I had to replace it myself rather than leave electrical wires open to the weather. They also spray painted over every last bit of my stained wood trimming, effectively ruining it, so that it will now have to be replaced. Again, more because they did not stop to ask and just assumed. Rubbish and gutter nails were left all over my yard and patio and my front garden was stomped to pieces/garden border broken. The icing on the cake was when they replaced three vents on the roof (where they never should have been) without informing me, adding that cost to my final bill. That is not to say that it was a totally bad experience. The owner of the company is nice and very personable. I do not doubt that had he been at the site more than just the start of the first day and then to pick up payment that things would have been done better. He was quick to respond when I pointed out where the gutters had been bolted back on to the house in a shoddy and cricked manner and had men out that day to fix it. And most issues can be chalked up to work being done without confirming what was wanted. Still, I will not be using this company again, if only because of all the communication issues.
