Dry Cleaning Service
On Thursday Jan 10, 2013 I dropped off my jeans at Unique Cleaners 23804 Highway 59N Kingwood, TX 77339. I went through each pair and told, Shalni Ramphul, which jeans needed a crease and not have a crease & type of starch.
She said everything would be ready by Monday the 14th of January. I went and picked my clothes up on that Monday night and the next day I noticed that one pair of the jeans had been damaged. I called the cleaners and to let them know and told her I would bring them by to show her the damage. So I showed her how the button had been bent and punctured through the jean material and she said she would replace the button no problem and they would be ready by Friday the 18th. I also told her I would look through the rest of the jeans that I had dry cleaned by her to see if they had any of the same damage.
So Friday morning I went to get ready for work and I went to put on another pair of pants I had pressed from Unique Cleaners and noticed these were also damaged. This pair was extremely damaged and the buttons were so bent on the back pockets that I could not even unbutton the back pockets and all 3 buttons had ripped through the jean material.
I attempted to go by Friday January 18, 2013 to pick up my 1st pair of pants that were being ?repaired? but upon arrival @ 5:50 pm the place was already closed even thought the hours said they close at 6pm on Friday?s.
So on Monday Jan 21st after work I once again went to pick up my pants and showed her the damage on the 2nd pair of pants. She said that she saw no problem with the pants and that they are supposed to be ?bent that way? and that is how ?all dry cleaners? press their pants. I told her that I have never had any problems like this with any other dry cleaners bending the metal on my jeans before. She then says to me ?what do you want me to do about it? I said to her ?fix them? She then say?s ?I can?t fix them and how do I know that this happened here and not at another place?? She then says to me ?I don?t have time to check every button on every pair of pants.?
At this point I saw that she was not going to do what was right so I grabbed my ?repaired? pair of pants and left. Then 3 minutes later I returned since she had gave me another customers pants and not mine. I went and got my pants and stormed out. Then upon inspection of my ?repaired? jeans I was even more disgusted, it looked like a 10 year old had tried to repair my pants and I had just purchased those jeans 2 months prior.
Then in a last attempt to resolve this I tried to call and speak with the owner, but every time I called they never answered the phone. I had my husband call and she answered and he asked for the owners name was and how to reach him. She asked why and he said he need to discuss some damaged clothes of his and she then refused to give him any information. After that my husband told me he would buy me some new jeans and to let it go. I told him I would make sure EVERYONE I knew would never go to that cleaners again and now that I have an Angie?s list account I can save others from a lot of hassle and damaged clothes.
