Home Building
I signed a contract for Jim and his team to reface my kitchen cabinet and install crown moulding. Initially I thought they were professional and pretty honest. The price for the cabinets in my opinion was pretty reasonable. Grant it I had another company give me a quote so Jim was able to underbid. There were a few delays but overall I was pleased with the finish product. However they installed a new vent hood which is non functioning. He mentioned I had to get an electrician to complete the installation on my own. Also there were holes drilled in one of the cabinets but no hardware inserted. Finally more care should have been taken to protect my hardwood floors by the painters. The last project they were going to do was install a $600 electric fireplace and build a wood trim around it which he charged $700. For the price I expected a little more-but the trim was the floor trim that you place after installing hardwood floors and it was unstained. I was told I would have to pay someone else to finish that later as well.
The biggest issue I had with this company was what I would consider deceptive practices. After he was done with the cabinet refacing I requested that he send me a quote on some additional work. Specifically how much it would cost to pour a concrete slab (~15 sq ft) to accommodate my outdoor firewall among other things. I was also getting bids from other contractors as well. However he never gave me a quote and just sent a team to my home to do work. I initially thought he was going to give me a fair price so I actually sent another contractor away. After all they had already started the work already. When I asked again he said he didn't know because the guys were charging by the hour. He said he guessed about $500 but it was probably more. I told him to immediately stop performing any further non-contracted work. He ended up charging me $750 to pour the slab for less than 20 sqft and another $300 for garbage removal. There's a few more projects I need completed on my home. I tried this company with the smaller project to see how things went. And lets just say I'm glad I chose a more reputable company for my larger project.
By the way this is the same company that is located in Kingwood. I verified the owners are the same. The address has changed.

They did a terrible job refinishing the cabinets leaving holes, finish is coming off--broke an existing blind replacing it with much inferior quality, terrible paint job, and the list goes on.
