My recent encounters with Cruzs Heating and Cooling have left me incredibly dissatisfied and frustrated as a customer. The recurring issues of unreliable pricing and lack of transparency have led me to conclude that I can no longer support or recommend this company. Allow me to outline the specific concerns that have fueled my disappointment. Initially, Cruzs Heating and Cooling quoted me a reasonable price of $85.00 for the required work. However, upon completion of the job, I was shocked to find that they charged me a staggering $263.00 without any prior explanation or justification. This sudden and significant increase in price is highly unprofessional and reflects a lack of transparency in their business practices. As a customer, I expect clear communication and honesty when it comes to pricing changes. What further compounds my disappointment is that this is not an isolated incident. It is the second time that Cruzs Heating and Cooling has blindsided me with unexpected charges and failed to provide crucial information about the work being done. This lack of transparency undermines trust and reflects a disregard for customer satisfaction. It is disheartening to encounter a recurring pattern of unexplained price hikes and a lack of communication. Based on these repeated instances of poor service, unreliable pricing, and lack of transparency, I cannot recommend Cruzs Heating and Cooling to others seeking reliable HVAC services. As customers, we deserve a company that values honesty, professionalism, and clear communication. I strongly advise prospective customers to explore alternative options that prioritize these essential qualities to avoid similar frustrations and disappointments.

They are definitely an A. We didn't shop around, we've used them for a bunch of stuff and they have always been wonderful. They were here when we had a problem at 9:30 at night to check things out. They are excellent. Definitely an A for professionalism. Absolutely would use in the future.

They needed some help locating the gas line but once they found one to tap into, it was rather quick. A few weeks later I noticed a small leak; they came out and replaced a valve at no charge.

Technician was courteous and knowledgeable. Some of the connections were in a very awkward workspace in the attic. The technician figured it out and performed the work to give us the new outlets exactly where we needed. We appreciated his persistence and creativity.

Bill said that a replacement part was necessary...how could he tune the generator if he could not start it? Done

This is the second time I've used this company, and they were as excellent this time as the last.  A friend recommended them after I had been charged for unnecessary repairs by another company.  Roy was the technician who provided this service call; and he was professional, thorough, and especially patient in answering my gazillion questions.  He checked the unit outdoors, the main component  in the attic, and each rooms' actual air temperature output.  I really appreciated also that he educated me about several things which will ensure my unit's longevity as well as reduce my energy bills. The receptionist who took my call found my record right away, seemed genuinely pleased I was returning for business, and set up my appointment courteously and without delay.
It is a pleasure to do business with companies like Cruz, where one can have confidence in the honesty of its staff.  Their prices are very reasonable also.  I actually didn't have anything wrong with my unit except "operator error"...........I had accidentally put the fan in "continuous" mode instead of "auto".  Since I hadn't had my unit checked for a while, it certainly would have been easy enough to tell me I needed Freon (given Houston's weather) and charged me a higher fee; but Roy's integrity is just one more example why I'll ONLY use  and recommend this company for any of my AC and heating needs.  A+++

Update 12/2014:  I did get a free service call to check my generator finally when Mr. Cruz found out what had been going on with the phone girls who run his office...

Update 6/2015:  The girls who answer the phones for Cruz electric, including someone named Phoebe are (still) being very rude and won't return my calls or pass on my issues or requests to the owner, Mr. Cruz, who seems very nice. (I wonder if you know how bad these girls are for your business Mr. Cruz)? I had to call a new generator company and pay them for service. I don't think I'll use Cruz anymore sadly.

10/2014:  I am very disappointed with their level of customer service, and feel that whoever answers the phones needs to communicate with management better. They appear to be keeping the owners and managers from hearing any complaints about them by either not calling people back, and/or not informing the management of any issues or complaints when customers call. If the management would like a better review, perhaps they should give me a call and talk this out.  At this point, I feel that they should offer me some sort of discount on a contract for the issues I had in reaching them and dropping my contract without any notice.

The tech Jessie went out of his way to repair my extra filtration system that Church Services had just put an ill fitting filter in. Jessie repaired my Trane a/c that was leaking freon. Jessie also performed my annual maintenance on the system. I had a new Trane put in by Church Services (I have 2 units) when it was installed I asked for a filter replacement and they put in one that left a 6and quot; gap. It was good that Jessie caught that because I had no idea. I was having tile installed when Jessie came out. It is a good thing he caught that BIG mistake because my coil was completely exposed. If anyone has had tile removed, there is A LOT of dust and could have cost me a lot of money! I will use Cruz A/C and electric again. I was so impressed w/Cruz A/C that I asked about a maintenance agreement. I will never use Church Services again. They were a problem from beginning to end!

I called midday on a Friday and the operator was very knowledgeable and helpful re: Generac home generators. An on-call technician (all their techs are Generac-certified and registered electricians) was available late in the day, so I set my appointment for 4:30 p.m. While there was a misunderstanding in the appointment time (verified at 4:30 p.m., maintenance supervisor thought it was a two-hour window from 4:30 to 6:30; a phone call and very professional and courteous exchange rectified the situation and the company more than made up for any inconvenience).

Chris M. was the tech who arrived for the appointment -- professionally dressed, clean commercial vehicle. FYI - CGC Generators is the company which provides these services as a division of Cruz Electric. Chris spent all the time necessary walking me through the operation of the generator, identifying what is connected to it, oil/battery checks, recommended maintenance, warning signs, etc., etc., etc. The generator was installed in 2009 and we purchased the home in 2012. After substantial renovations and additions, we're in the house, but needed to know how to work an automatic transfer generator. After Chris' visit, I feel completely comfortable with the generator and know what we need to do/look for on the unit.

This was an excellent experience and I signed up for a two-year maintenance contract (discounts offered for more than one year). Additionally, Chris is a veteran and we support any company/organization who hires our nations' heroes. Thank you!!!
