CA Renovations

This builder lied to us from the very beginning, however, we did not realize this until much later.  He always had an excuse as to why something regarding the construction did not occur in the time frame given to us.  We had a construction loan set up with a bank, and he did not submit the proper paperwork to the bank.  We found out at one point that money he drew against the construction loan to make the down-payment on appliances was not given to the supplier.  He misappropriated the funds and when questioned by the bank about it, he claimed that he forgot he drew the money for that reason.  He argued with us about the height of the rods in the master closets, claiming that they were standard height.  I'm a 5'6" woman (not short) and couldn't reach the top rods.  He claimed that everything that went wrong was someone else's fault even thought he was the builder and should have been supervising the job.  He was hardly ever on sight and not supervising the job correctly.  Towards the end, we forced him to have all checks for work done made out to the suppliers or the sub-contractors because we did not trust him to pay everyone.  We eventually terminated our contract with him.  There are far too many other reasons to list that I would never recommend this builder to anyone.   He lies, has absolutely no integrity, and doesn't seem to care or show any remorse.  Also, when we terminated the contract with him, he said he wouldn't guarantee any of the work even though the contract we had with him said "C A Renovations will warranty all work and craftmanship on this project for one year."  Once again, no integrity.
