Z Flooring replaced the floor of our rental home. He was by far the most economical and he scoped the job with more detail than other contractors or large companies. Z was on site and very involved in the project. He and his crew worked diligently and communicated frequently. I would hire again.

On September 12th I received a quote from Z-flooring among several others to replace our carpet floors with vinyl. After careful consideration we decided to choose Z-flooring for our project based on multiple factors. Z-flooring sent us a proposal via email which covered carpet and padding take up, tack strips take up, floor scraping, all clean up, removal of baseboards, installation of baseboards, caulking of baseboards, all transition install, leveling of the floor, 1700 square feet of vinyl installation at $2.25 per square foot, 2 year warranty on labor, $300 discount. We requested a contract, but it was not provided, saying that "I just go by what we agreed to and an email or text confirmation". We agreed. Z-flooring started the work the next day, completed the work within a week. The work was done quickly. When I encountered some questions during the job, I was mostly brushed off with them telling me "You have to let us do our job, we do this for a living, etc", though I specifically let them know that I want the job to be thorough (which I was guaranteed). So i just let go of the thing. On one occassion when I spoke up on last day, saying that I don't like how they did the transition at the staircase, they told me that they are just not going to fix it. It was like you get what you get. Any input and involvement from me was brushed off. After they finished I found some spots missing caulking and baseboards, but I was exhausted and just happy to have my home back, that I just let it go, I figured that we'll finish it ourselves. During the following weeks we found several substantial defects, which we brought to the company's attention. The defects are - cuts on several vinyl planks from the workers using a sharp utility knife to cut the planks to size without laying something under. (I saw the workers doing this, but never said anything, because by that time I was demotivated of speaking up by being brushed off multiple times) - in one of the rooms (the office) the floor is laid so unevenly, that it not only moves a lot underfoot, but we even hear the plastic underlayment crinkling beneath. Right away the owner started acting defensive, saying, that it's impossible that his guys cut the floor, that it was me. That a month had passed and me being me I would have said something sooner if I saw the cuts right away. Well I saw the first cut about 2-3 days after they finished. I took a picture of it (dated by the way), but I was still exhausted, and decided to let it go. I saw the second cut about a week after the first, and the third about another week after. After finding the third cut, I decided to let the owner know of them, because thats too much and anyway I would be contacting him for the office floor. And after some text exchange and me pointing out more things that were not finished, like caulk and baseboards, he started ignoring my further texts. My husband tried calling him from his number, the owner picked up and said that he was on a trip in Florida and his crew are unavailable that week, my husband asked him to check out the floors when he comes back on November 5th, but no word since. I texted Z-flooring a couple days after that, I am still not getting any response from him. At this point all hope of conversation has failed.
Response from Z-Flooring

"Thank you. Per your husband Iliya "great job". Job was well done, I have pictures to prove it. My crew was very polite [Member Information Removed] did everything you asked them to do, you had us take up the floor several times [Member Information Removed] reinstall it, because you didn't like how some boards looked. Which took hours to do, you hovered over the installers the entire time. Making it very difficult to work [Member Information Removed] move around you. Need I remind you that you had hired another crew prior to us starting the job, or maybe you tried doing it by yourself. They had opened up multiple boxes [Member Information Removed] cut a lot of pieces. you told us to use the material. Before completing the job I came to you [Member Information Removed] told you that we would be 160-180 feet short on material, by your measurements. You refused to pay for additional work.Job was not done fast, had you let us work in peace it would have been smooth sailing. I've been serving customers [Member Information Removed] doing quality work for 16 years, [Member Information Removed] worked with every single one that had any issues [Member Information Removed] was able to fix [Member Information Removed] resolve every single one. I refuse to be bullied [Member Information Removed] taken advantage off."

I have all good things to say about Z Flooring. From the day Z first came to my house to hear what I needed and to give me an estimate, he was very professional and just down right nice. They needed to take out the existing floor and install a new hardwood floor. They did an incredible job and I couldn't be happier. Everyone who worked on my floor was kind and skilled at what they do, and the end result great. I highly recommend Z Flooring.
