I have lived here since December 2012, and plan to move as soon as my lease is up.  I have been overrun with roaches since I moved in and I had no roaches prior to moving into these apartments.  The pest service that will come every week does nothing to rid my apartment of the pests, and I have been told too buy Roach Motels.  I did that and the roaches just thumb their noses at them, and they just keep on hatching new babies.  I have also had door problems since moving in and nothing has been done, even though I addressed the problem on my move-in check sheet.  The day I came to sign my lease nothing was ready and I sat for about 3 hours while the office staff did nothing.  They said I had not provided my renter's insurance, which had been faxed to the main office at least 3 times that day, but no one bothered to tell me that I had to change the apartment complex's name in order for them to use the insurance.  What idiots!!  I had not signed a lease, had not moved in yet they wanted my insurance to cover my new apartment unit.  My insurance company told me they did not need that done until after I signed my lease, and at that time they would furnish them with new proof of insurance.  I had movers sitting at my old apartment waiting for over 3 hours at the cost of $150/hr while these yoyos sat and did nothing.  My sliding patio door has not worked properly since I moved in.  The pin lock does not work, which I noted on my move in check list.  The screen door also kept falling off.  After several notices and asking for the door to be fixed, I was told they needed to contact a carpenter to do the work.  No carpenter showed up, but a maintenance man did show up with a new screen door, and after many attempts to get the door to work and stay on track, he told me that the whole door needed to be replaced. After that no one ever bothered to come back and do anything, which is the usual manner in which complaints are handled - no follow up from anyone.  The top of my kitchen stove does not fit, it obviously came from another range which had a larger cooking surface.  The toilet in the 2nd bathroom has a tank top that does not belong on the tank, must have come off another tank somewhere that was larger.  Master bathroom shower faucet does not turn off unless I kick it off with my foot.  The first of July I was sick for 2 days and not able to get into the office on the 1st or 2nd to pay my rent, which by the way has never been late, so I dropped it off on the 3rd and now they are trying to charge me $50 for being late and an additional $5 late fee.  I have a number to call somewhere in Nebraska, which I plan to do.  I also have a kitchen light that goes on and off at will.  It took me 3 months and too many phone calls to mention to get the dryer vent in the wall cleaned out so my dryer would work, and would not cause a fire and stop tripping the breaker for overheating.  Only after I called the fire department and told the office to call them and ask for the Fire Chief so he could explain what could happen if the dryer caught on fire, did they get someone to clean out the vent in the wall.  The office staff got mad and were put out with me for complaining so much, but I was not able to use my dryer for 3 months.  They also allow anyone and everyone to live here, and it does not matter if they are on the lease or not, and most of them are not.  I had to tell them several times about an abandoned vehicle, with a flat tire before they would act, and the car had been sitting there for over 3 months already.  So the guy that owns the car, which by the way does not have a parking sticker on the windshield, finally changed the tire, but the vehicle has never moved.  I have had a man come to my door at least 3 times in the past month around 11:00PM knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell, and it takes me telling him over and over that he is knocking on the wrong door.  I live alone and trying to get back to sleep after an encounter with him is not easy.  I hope we do not have any fires prior to my moving out because the fire zones are blocked by cars at night an on weekends, and I am sure the office staff sees the cars because they are showing apartments of and on during the week and the Red Zones are blocked.  Most of the cars that I see do not have parking stickers on the windshield. So this is just the tip of the iceberg as they say - DO NOT RENT HERE!! - Only certain people can do what they want and get away with it.  I am and have been very unhappy since moving in here.  I lived here when the complex was new in the mid 70s and the grounds were beautiful and the staff and maintenance personnel were wonderful, but that is no longer the condition of things.  I live in the back and the grounds are pathetic, fence boards rotted out, fence posts broken, sprinkler system does not work, but yet we are charged for a monthly fee for water run-off.  I am sure they plan to raise my rent at the end of my lease, which I feel that I am already paying too much for what I have.  I do not plan to pay the late charges to these crooks and they will probably try to charge me interest.
