Whitmans Contracting and Roofing

We had our roof replaced on our home, Jan. 12.2022 by Whitmans Contracting & Roofing. The representative, Mark Show, was very knowledgeable and thorough in his examination of the old roof and in detailing what was now needed. This was the fifth company that we interviewed for the project and Mark impressed us the most with all that they offered. On the day of replacement, the crew showed up on time, were courteous, efficient, thorough, and left the property by 4 pm with the property clean. We are very satisfied and give it a 5 Star Rating. Pete Whitman was a pleasure to work. He's an honest and fair guy to work with. His prices were competitive, the workmanship was professional and he took care of the unexpected items that came up along the way. He is at the top of my list for any future roof work on my other properties.

All went well

We had our roof replaced in December, 2016. As Hurricane Harvey blew into town we were grateful for our new roof. As updates of the aftermath from Harvey continues on the news into 2018, we realize how very blessed we are - because there was NO damage to our new roof that was installed by Whitmans Contracting and Roofing. Their work was so well done that we didn't lose one shingle to the high winds, and there were no leaks into our house. Whitman's was FABULOUS!

Both jobs went well. Costs came in slightly under the estimate which is good. For the roof, he replace some shingles and replaced all of the seals around the pipe jacks/vents. Also removed any tree debris that had collected on the roof. For the interior, his guy cleaned up and repaired some water damage related to roof leaks. Very nice job on matching the existing paint color. Good job and will definitely hire again. Roof repair was $1475 and interior was $775.

We woke up recently and discovered a leak in our roof, probably one of the skylights. We interviewed three contractors and went with Whitmans. They were very attentive even before we told them we wanted them to do the work. We asked them to be here when insurance came by, and the insurance guy visibly relaxed and we all got along very well. The job had flat roof, steep traditional roof, and a third party to do the skylight at our request, not a simple job. Everyone came away happy and we have a better roof now. Great job, done on time.

Every detail went smoothly from the beginning to completion. Peter was always on sight taking care of every detail. He also helped with the insurance claim and followed up on completion. He was not satisfied until I was satisfied. The clean up was outstanding and they left the yard as they found it.

Excellent service. Peter was able to get the leaks in our repaired one day after I called him. This was outstanding since rain is in the forecast for the next couple of days. All aspects of the job went very well. I give Whitmans Construction the highest recommendation.

Many have asked about roofing companies including myself when we were searching. I had several roofers come out but ultimately decided on Whitmans Contracting and Roofing and I am absolutely 100 percent pleased with the job and his customer service. The work and cleanup was complete in two days, just as we were told by Mr. Whitman. Mr. & Mrs. Whitman were extremely knowledgeable and professional about the scope of a full roof replacement . On the first day of his presentation my husband and I was so impressed from start to finish. There are several roofing contractors in the Houston area that could learn a great deal from Mr. Whitman. The roofing company stands behind their work. We had several leaks after hurricane Harvey and we didn’t know who to turn to. We asked several neighbors. Two of them had suggested Whitman’s Roofing. We had other quotes, but theirs was the most reasonable. We’ve used them twice for two different issues and are completely satisfied. The company will show you before and after photos so you know the work has been complete.

Had difficulty getting anyone here to give an estimate and then work could only be scheduled out 7-10 days. (this was after Harvey, so roofers were in high demand). Mr. Whitman was very responsive to our request, but it took 2 weeks for the estimate. This was due to lots of rain, a snowy/icy weekend and commitments on both our parts. However, once he gave us a very reasonable estimate, he was able to get the repair completed the next day for us! He went out of the way to help us out as we were due to leave for Xmas trip in 2 days! When we returned home, we found that we still had a minor leak from the same area, and he was out the next day to fix it at no charge. No problems since then. We are definitely happy customers and when our roof needs replacing in the next couple of years, he will be our first call.

Pete Whitman was our key point of contact. He was excellent at communicating when he or his team could be out at the house. He and his crew reviewed the interior damage first, then headed onto the roof and within minutes had located one of the major entry points for water into the house. He provided photos and advice for the insurance claim process, and was quick to schedule time for repairs once I gave him the green light to get started. Repairs were completed in 3 phases. First included re-shingling, pipe boot replacement, and repair of flashing and recaulking where weaknesses were identified as well as roof repair where a hole had been identified. Second was a gutter replacement. Third was a walk-through and completion of reshingling and recaulking to ensure the roof was fully sealed off from the elements. The shingle repair looks great - in spite of the age of the rest of the roof, the workmanship and color match make the repairs difficult to recognize from the street. Pete's crew identified all of the key entry points of water during the storm, so I feel satisfied there won't be any repeat leaks in the near future. In terms of quality of work, time taken to complete, and overall experience, I give Whitman Contracting and Roofing an A+.

They arrived on time and completed the reroof in one day. They did a great job!

We had delays due to weather but on July 1 i had a new roof. He was aware of HOA approval and provided all information needed. Pictures were provided from estimate process to show me the condition of my roof. Peter was on site for the majority of the job. His crew was professional and did a great job of cleaning up. He provided pictures of before, during and after. The communication was excellent. Peter Whitman explained the whole process and was even drove through the neighborhood finding houses that had same color shingles that I had selected. He provided addresses so that I could see the finished product.

Peter and Bubba were great! I could not be more satisfied with the roofing project that was completed. They had someone on site at all times to manage the work, and make sure everything was done in a professional manner. They cleaned up the yard nicely when completed, and even came back a couple days later to finish some touch-up work. I would recommend and hire again.

Great! Mr. Whitman came out right away for an estimate and was able to begin the work, promptly the next week. I was very pleased that they were actually able to finish in one day. The workers were extremely professional and cleaned up everything completely. A supervisor was there the entire time to make sure everything was done properly. I know that some companies just basically drop off a crew in the morning and don't supervise, so I was glad that the Whitmans had a much more hands-on service. During the work, it was discovered that we needed new boards to replace ones that had rotted. Mr Whitman gave me that extra work for a VERY reasonable price - basically just material and labor. He was willing to work with my budget during the entire project without compromising quality and craftsmanship, and they even offer financing, so it was very affordable. Most importantly though - my roof looks AMAZING. You can tell it was a very professional job. I absolutely have the nicest roof on my street. Thank you Whitmans!

Peter Whitman did a few consultations with us to make sure we knew all our options, which was very helpful. The most complicated part for us was deciding where to install gutters and they were very helpful in guiding us toward good options. The process was efficient and painless. The installation was quick, and they did a fantastic job cleaning up around the outside of the house afterwards. It has been a couple of months now, and we love our new roof, siding and gutters. I would highly recommend Whitmans Contracting and Roofing.

Whitmans Contracting and Roofing performed a job well done. Peter did a thorough inspection of the roof. He checked for leaks in the attic space and any evidence of water penetration. He found a perfect color match for the existing shingles and patched the areas that needed work. Whitmans caulked all areas around roof stacks/penetrations (vents, pipes, exhaust). The work was completed in a timely manner and the cost was fair. The roof looks great! It was neat seeing before and after pictures which were provided by the company, so I could see the work that was performed.

He was fabulous! It was so good and refreshing to work with someone that worked with us and consulted on the options and not be high pressure. He was honest. He put our concerns and needs first. He made sure after his workers were done, they cleaned up and didn't leave any debris. He got the equipment here and he was on site to make sure the workers did the job right. He made sure we had the accurate quote before he started the work. He gave us the opportunity to discuss what we wanted to do after we had the information rather than just assuming we wanted to go ahead with it. He worked fast! He was done in a day in a half! They did a really great job!

It was done in a prompt and timely manner. Kept work site clean. Would highly recommend!
