Kevin from Western Systems came to fix the system installed by his company 2 yrs ago. He had no knowledge of what all was installed in the system. He was rude and unprofessional. The company did not give me a list of different zones in the house. When I asked him for the zones he looked up on the key pad and asked me to write it down. Problem was that the system was giving false alarms because the window sensors were not working. The window sensors were not to be included in the system in the first place, He told me the problem was that the windows were not opening properly so I should get the windows fixed first and then he would come back and check the sensors. When I told him the windows were fine all he did was to bypass the zone that was giving the false alarm and charged me $110.
We bought one of the most expensive systems with a very disappointing service. I would not recommend this company to any one.

Requested help getting our home alarm system working (recently moved in, and preexisting system was not in use).  Tech was extremely rude.  Took one very quick look at our system, said it was poorly installed, and would require many hours of labor to figure out how to make it work (at $100+ per hour).  Recommended we call his sales department because it would be cheaper to install a new system than have him figure out our current one.  He was also very rude when my wife asked him to speak to me on the phone to explain the issue.  He left after unplugging our alarm system.
We called another company. They had our entire system up and running in 15 minutes with no concerns or problems.  Told us it was a reasonably comprehensive set up, and all tested all the doors and windows(everything was working fine).  Just needed to change out old smoke detectors.

The reason I used them is because it seemed apparent to me that they were the only people that had a reliable wireless censor system because almost all my censors in the house have to be wireless for reasons. They have the only decent wireless system that I am aware of.

Their service was excellent. Their price was $1000.00 less than other businesses around the area. I would use this company again in the future.

I've had this system for about six weeks, and so far, I've had no problems at all. This is in stark contrast to the previous new system I purchased where I had three false alarms in three weeks. In talking with relatives and friends, and doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that if you do not have a wireless system (ie: wireless door/window switches and smoke alarms) most any system is fairly dependable. However, if you have to go with a wireless system, the situation is totally different. Western sells only equipment manufactured by G.E. whom I have great faith in. I only wish Western had a yellow pages listing under ''G.E. alarm systems'' and I would have spared myself the agony of the first system I had. If it hadn't been for a referral from my next door neighbor, I might still be trying to figure out who had a decent wireless system.

The technician answered my call promptly, followed up quickly with an estimate and installation. He was very reasonable with his prices and was able to explain the specific instructions and the advantages of safety and security. The installation was scheduled as soon as an agreement was reached and the technician was on time. He demonstrated the system's operation and I signed a two year contract.
