They are able to manage all of her long list of conditions with medications and food and still have great quality of life at 23 years old. Snowshoe siamese cat.

They overpromise, underperform, and overcharge. When you are able to see a vet, the vets are knowledgeable, caring, and expensive. If you have a middle of the night emergency, the vets are not there when you need them, and, the icing on the cake, their office manager is MIA --which follows the overall theme of this vet hospital.

The visit at this hospital/vet went very well. Dr. Gaugh (and also Dr. Anderson who we have used in the past, too) are so compassionate and thorough on our bi-annual checkups. Their staff who assist them are also very nice and thorough. The pharmacy folks are also great. Our cat is in her (very) senior years and has her ups and downs with eating, particularly when we go out of town. Her appetite was down, and it was time to take her in for her 6-month checkup, so away we went. Dr. Gaugh (and prior to that her assistant) listened to all of our concerns and made suggestions as to what tests might be run. The final decision on all was left to us, but we had the tests done that she suggested. One of the areas she wanted to rule out was an abnormality in her blood pressure (which we had not looked at before), but all was good on that front. Our cat was not too keen about the fluid administration as it takes time, but she did very well, and let us know when enough was enough. You could tell it make a difference in her overall appearance as it "plumped her up". I did not rate the price as it is not really "ratable". We all know vets are expensive, so it is hard to give an "A" for spending tons of money, but it is not fair to give a low grade because it is what it is and pet owners know this and will spend the money for their beloved animals. However, I did indicate the price in my review. Would not hesitate to go back when needed as the staff is wonderful and the facility is really, really nice.

Boarding is a different price. Somebody calls in for boarding for sixteen dollars, you will be in for an rude awakening.

We have used them for probably twenty five years.  We love the veterinarian, and the are one of the places in town that if you need to leave your pet overnight, either because you're boarding or an emergency. They have techs on premises twenty four hours. They have veterinarian on call for twenty four hours. If the tech thinks anything is wrong, the veterinarian is out there. People on our side was rob, and we weren't, and I know its because of him. The front glass was broke, and he broke it. Guess who came out first. Mine is a rescue dog, and he takes his job seriously. One goes on Thursday, the other stays here, and does her patrolling. We used them for surgeries, and whatever we need them for. They love him, and he loves them. It works.

Fantastic service and pricing! I chose Westbury because it's one of the highest rated clinics on Angie's List, it's close to my house and I liked the wealth of services offered (24 hour care, boarding/day care, grooming, online pharmacy & patient portal, customer rewards, etc.) Based on reviews, I was a little concerned about pricing but in my experience, it's been extremely inexpensive.
We recently adopted a newborn puppy who was just one week old. We hated to take him from his dam so early but he was rescued from a feral litter of 10 pups, with the help of the SPCA, who felt certain not all 10 pups would survive. Although we had been thinking about adopting a dog for a long time, this unexpected and suddenturn of events meant we didn't have time to research vets beforehand. Not knowing any better and needing an immediate appointment (as well as supplies), we went to Banfield Pet Hospital (inside PetSmart). We were told Will Feral was too young to receive any flea or worming treatments, then charged $43 even though they gave zero medications and provided no services except to give us a handout on newborn puppies which we could have found for free online. Additionally, the vet didn't have good language skills so didn't know the English words for what she was trying to explain. Not helpful!
After that, I did some research and discovered consumers everywhere were displeased with Banfield so of course, my next stop was Angie's List. Although there were several highly rated clinics, I chose Westbury for the reasons I outlined above, which seemed to offer the best value proposition. When the worms finally appeared two weeks after visiting Banfield, I called Westbury immediately and was able to get an appointment for the next day. For our first visit, the vet administered oral flea and worming treatments at the clinic and gave us 2 doses of flea medication to take home and the cost was just $24. We also found out Will Feral actually could've received those meds two weeks ago so Banfield gave us incorrect info, causing our puppy to suffer longer than necessary. For our 2nd visit at Westbury, we did the follow up worming treatment and it was just $11. Both times, the doctor offered to clip Will Feral's nails and it was complimentary. Additionally, I asked about doggie DNA testing (offered by their clinic or via a cheaper mail order version) and the doctor candidly said it was mostly for novelty and I probably wouldn't get much from either version of the test. He definitely did not try to make more money by encouraging us to go the clinical route.
Both times, we were helped by Dr. Anderson, who was calm, knowledgeable, kind and generous with his time in answering all our questions. I believe we will be seen by Dr. Anderson every time so I like that continuity with their systems. On two occasions, I had to leave a message with follow up questions and the more urgent one was returned the same day, the less urgent one the next morning. During our second visit, the vet remembered my previous comment that we would be traveling for the entire month of July and also made a handwritten note of that in our standard welcome letter. Dr. Anderson and his wife adopted a newborn puppy too (from a litter left at their hospital doorstep!) so I also like that he has personal experience with newborns (since most dogs are not adopted out until 8 weeks old). In all our communication, the entire staff has been very pleasant; their facilities seem clean, spacious, organized and modern; and wait times to see the doctor have been very quick.
One random tip - there is another building adjacent to the clinic, also with Westbury signage, but it's vacant. Don't go there. We were slightly tardy for our first appointment because we went to the wrong building and kept waiting for someone to respond to the door buzzer :-).
Will Feral is only 6 weeks old so I haven't tried any of their other services yet but if it turns out poorly, I'll update my review. This is my first pet so I have hardly any experience in this area, but I'm a pretty discerning consumer overall and compared to Banfield at PetSmart, Westbury has been stellar. Highly recommend!

My dog had been shaking his head for a few days and I knew his ears were bothering him. I called Saturday morning and was able to get an appointment for that afternoon. We have recently relocated to Houston and have not found a new vet. The staff was very nice and it was very evident that the vet assistant, Fernando, and the vet, Dr. Gaugh, love animals. That always makes me happy to see vet staff really interact with the pets. Dr. Gaugh did a thorough exam commenting on Dudley's great looking teeth. She checked his hips and skin and even trimmed his nails free of charge and administered his first dose of antibiotics for us. At checkout time, my husband and I were prepared for a big bill but were pleasantly surprised. Having a French Bulldog we spend a lot of money on vet care. We were very pleased with the service and plan to keep Dr. Gaugh as Dudley's vet which is a huge relief. We had used our last vet for 16 years and moving with all the change it brings is difficult.

Our dogs became lethargic after use of a new tea and flick medication. The medication is a liquid applied to their skin.
We called Westbury and they had us bring the dogs in the same day. They immediately checked vitals and did blood tests that found no serious problems, then washed the dogs thoroughly and observed them for a few hours before releasing them to us.
Though the dogs were not in a life-threatening situation per the vitals check, they kept them in their ICU to have them under close observation for any worsening of their condition.
The dogs responded well, returning to their energetic selves that evening.
The vet recommended a replacement medication. They explained that occasionally some brands cause adverse reactions and they recorded the incident in our dog's records to make sure the medication is never re-prescribed and they said they monitor/record such reports for their medication recommendations for other patients.
We have used Westbury for many years with all the dogs we have had. They have done great work over the years, and we want to give special recognition to Dr. Jonathan Cooper. He had suggested Cushings treatment for our Pomeranian when another clinic said that was not the cause of hair loss after extensive testing. The treatments worked and the dog enjoyed a long life free of the disease's effects. Dr Cooper's and quot;bedside mannerand quot; and compassion (for our dogs and us) has been superb over years. He even came to our house to put one of our dogs gently to sleep after years of kidney problems finally caught up with her. It meant a lot to have her be able to go quietly in our home rather than experience the trauma of going to the vet office in her final hours.

All of the Veterinarians give complete examinations of the animal and will take time to talk about any concerns I may have. They also have a Vet on call 24/7.

One of our cats disappeared at the end of April and reappeared looking worse for wear a week on so later. It was considerably thinner and was limping badly. We called Westbury Animal Hospital as my wife was somewhat familiar with its location as it is on the way to her work. We needed a vet fast! They were kind and professional and after the initial exam where she needed fluids and other attention, they gave us a breakdown of what the problem was and the anticipated cost. We went ahead with the surgery and there were no complications at all. After a little over a month, our cat was back to normal minus a patch of hair shorter than the other.

We had just moved to Houston and our Puppy got sick on a Sunday. We were able to bring him in that day, they staff was wonderful and so helpful. They went through everything that they were checking for and doing to help our pup. We now use them as our permanent vet.

Dr. Christy Kyle is my favorite physician there. She saved my older dogs life a year ago when it had stopped breathing. She got her breathing again. Their pricing is a little on the expensive side. I would use them again in the future.
