The work to be done was at my Mom's house in Houston, Tx, and I live in Portland, Or. I planned a one week vacation to Houston to work with my sister to get some work done on our Mom's house. Val was very responsive by telephone and answered questions throughout the process. Once she looked over the job and submitted a bid, she was able to ensure that she could get the work done within the week I was there. The carpentry work for the counters were very good and the two installers were very diligent workers.
I would have done two things differently -- (1) accounted for the difference in the height of the tile countertop as opposed to the laminate countertop. Mom bends over more into the sink because the tile was about 1 1/2 inch higher. (2) I would have selected a better quality laminate.
Something that worked out better than I dreamed was the excellent job the workers did in installing the new sink with the slightly different plumbing configuration and fitting it into 50 year old cabinets. Kudos! They cleared all the debris and hauled it away. The next day, they came out to finish up quarter round trim, sink caps, caulking, and finish work.
