I have used Universal Home Experts twice now, and both times they have been great! Customer Service offered me same day work and technicians were on-time and performed the work very well.

Ironically, the electrician sent to my home had to endure the "Houston Heat" as a transformer had just blown prior to his arrival. Nevertheless, he was courteous and patient. The next day he called to ensure that I was home, and the first words from him were, "Is your a/c on?" I applaud Ryan on his endurance and professionalism.

The respose and quality was excellent. I was a bit confused what the charge/bill was ultimately going to be. I did not expect a $60.00 service call fee on top of the $94.00 minimum(plus any extra hardware). But we worked that out later.

I had one light hooked up that took less than 10 mintues for the guys to diagnose and correct my mistake. They charged me 250 bucks for less than 20 minutes of total work. My advice is to buy a home do-it-yourself book.

Excellent work, though a little bit pricey.

My only complaint is that it took so long; mainly because they worked a half day on our house, then left to go to another job in the afternoons....

I was very happy with the timeliness, professionalism and quality of the work performed by Universal Wiring. However, I was a little disappointed by the price. When I discussed the project by telephone with Universal Wiring I was told that the charge would be $65/hr for the electrician and $45/hr for an assistant. The estimate was that the charge for the work would be $200. Since I was requesting service on a Saturday I was told that the charge would be at time and a half and so would be about $300. I agreed. However, when the electrician arrived, there was no assistant. The electrician did everything himself (albeit very well). The charge was a lump sum, non-itemized $300. I also noticed later that the e-mail I received from Universal Wiring included a promotion for ServiceMagic customers of "30% off Service Charge for Service Magic Customers". There was no mention of this on the invoice.

So far as I know the work performed was very high quality, but I'd like to respond to this point after some time has passed.
