We are pleased with the overall results.  We provided Ken with materials that are more difficult to install  (butcher block and marble) and he was able to complete the job well.

When I called Ken he said that he was booked up for several months but had a window on Saturday to look at it and give a quote.  While here he climbed up into the attic to trace out where the wiring would have to go between the light fixture and switch. Looking at how small the job actually was he said that if we didn't mind him starting on Sunday he could get most of it done then and come back after work on Monday to finish up.  We agreed to this and what time he could start on Sunday after we got back from church. On Sunday he showed up on time with a helper.  They spent 4 hours getting sheet rock repaired in the garage, cutting out and replacing the crumbling sheet rock in the ceiling of the bedroom, running the new wiring to the light switch, and repairing the small hole around the switch he needed to cut to pull the new wiring.  When he left the job was basically done.  So when he came back late Monday afternoon he only needed to do the touch up work of smoothing out the floating of all of the sheet rock in the garage and bedroom.  He even mounted the new light fixture which was not part of the bid. He did a very good job and was impressed that he was willing to come out his days off and was prompt on finishing the job off.

Ken came in and listened to what we were wanted to do. Offered some suggestions of his own and took measurements. Ken and Liz came back a few days later with a printed quote detailing work to be done and costs for material and labor. Brought pictures of new bath fixtures that would be used in master bath and samples of colored tiles for us us to choose what we wanted to use for flooring in both baths. Started in hall bath. Removed exsting door and frame work. Removed toilet and exsisting flooring as well as quarter round trim at floor. Cut out drywall to accomidate new 32" prehung door. Insalled new door frame, squared up and hung door. Replaced drywall as needed, retextured wall. Used damp sponge to even out mud on wall to keep the dust dow as much as possible. Laid floor tile. When set, grouted tile with combo of grout and sealer, wiped down tile. When set, replaced toilet and quarter round trim, recaulked toilet and area where tile meets trim. Painted wall, trim and door as needed. Entrance from family room to master bedroom was widened by removing trim. Wall were squared up. Trim was re-added on outside wall on one side for looks. Master door was moved approx 3 feet into room. Header was rebuilt. Hung new prehung door using off-set hinges. Walls retexured, painted walls, door and trim as needed. (This was done to create more manuverability for wheelchair/power chair). Master bath had doors from bedroom and into closet removed, with trim, to accomidate new 32" prehung doors (originally doors were 24"). Openings were cut and rewoked to fit the new doors. Bathroom was fairly much gutted: door frame work at entrance to toilet was removed ans smoothed off, stand alone shower was torn out and replaced with a three wall walk-in shower, a built in shelf was added, tiled walls and floor. New rain shower head with hand held head installed. Double vanity was replaced with a 36" single vanity. A new 36" mirrored medicine cabinet and a 5 light mirrored light bar was installed. Bath floor was tiled and grouted with combo of grout and sealer. When tlle was set, quarter round at floor replaced, toilet re-installed. Caulked was redone at toilet aned where tile meets trim. Bathroom walls were re-textured with a stucco finish. 5 grab bars were added: 2 in toilet area and 3 in shower. All doors, trim, walls painted as needed. Transition from carpet to tile covered with a wood threshhold. Work was done Monday - Friday (plus a couple Saturdays for catchup). Monday - Friday work began at 8:00am and continued until a waiting period (ex. grout setting up) was reached or Ken finished at a point he wanted to get to for that day. All items that were removed and all building materials left over were removed and taken away for disposal by Ken daily. We were most impressed with this: every day when work was done, Ken would take a shop vac and sweep the floor where he had been walking - from the area his was working in to the front door! Hardly knew anything was goin on. We are completely satisfied with quality of workmanship, length of completion time, and the professionalism diplayed from beginning to end.
