There were so many things that were wrong and/or incomplete. Closets were only partially painted, wrong color in one bedroom. 2 kitchen cabinet doors put in backwards, bathroom door locks on outside not inside (easy for sibling to lock another in). Glue on kitchen floor that I couldn't scrape off. Didn't remove extra unused wires outside of house...the list goes on . Contacted both supervisor and manager multiple times, when they did call they'd just blow things off if they did return the call. Regarding glue on kitchen floor? They told my husband to buy a utility knife, that he'd be able to scrape it off.

"This job was completed in Feb. 2011 but we were able to pull the file and this customer gave us a certificate of completion and satisfaction at that time. There is nothing in the file that indicates a problem and it is too old for anyone to recall the issues she is referring to."

"We performed work to repair water damages to the interior of Mr. [Member name removed]'s home according to the price schedule that his insurance company requires that we use. He asked us to bid on some roof work (that was not insurance related) as well, then he got comparison bids directly from a roofing contractor. We are general contractors who would have included in our price to oversee and be responsible for the roofing contractor which is why our bid would have been more."

Talley and its subcontractors never made me feel rushed or tried to hurry me. I called them back 3x after they were paid for little things and each times was treated as if it were the first time and they were looking for my business. That is customer service.
They always covered my floors, wore booties, called ahead, worked reasonable hours, made sure my large family was not inconvenienced including the dog :)
I just cannot say enough good things about the quality of the work and the manner in which it was done.
They removed the cultured marble (not an easy task) and did complete remodels. I'm very happy!!!
I'll be calling them when I can afford a new kitchen!
The first contact was Mr. Calvin Simmons who happened to arrive when my local plumber was punching holes in the ceiling all over the place and making a mess trying to find a water leak. This was their 3d time out and they could not find it-- told me I did not have a shower pan. Mr. Simmons gave me the name of their plumber/leak detection folks who came out and in 5 minutes put a 1 inch hole under a cabinet, snaked a camera in and found the shower pan leaking profusely and standing water in it. The entire marble shower and floors had to be removed and replaced. It took a while and throughout I heard from Mr. Simmons and his Foreman, Charles-- they made sure the work was performed well. There were comedy moments when the same plumber punching holes tried to sell me a water softening system for my house instead of finding and fixing the leak. It was an easy decision to call Talley back when my other bathroom leaked. Two bathrooms completely remodeled and I'm a happy customer. Thanks Mr. Simmons and Charles Youngblood-- great work.
I should mention that I hire a lot of people and have never felt the need to write a review before.
**Update: Now I'm adding integrity and honesty as yesterday I sent a check for what I thought was the total and it turns out I had not included a deposit I gave months ago. A few hours later I get a call that I overpaid and they will fix it immediately. Great place!

The work was great. The gentlemen who came to fix everything were nice and got the work completely done before Christmas even though we live further away than most people.

Drywall work and painting. Hired this company due to a water leak. The painting, drywall "crew" consisted of one man. The job could have been done more quickly with more than one man. I only saw the Supervisor on the first day and day he came to get the lockbox. He did not return calls. He responded to text messages, but only at his convenience.

"Unfortunately the project manager for this job became ill on the second day of the project and, as a result, we did not provide the highest level of attention to Ms. Paulson’s job. The project should have been completed in a more timely manner and we have addressed the shortcoming with our project manager. We have also emphasized the importance of communication with our entire staff as proper communication is the key to successfully completing repair projects and ensuring the satisfaction of all of our customers."

Talley was on-site quickly after Serve-Pro was finished with drying and removing damaged materials. After approval of scope of work, Talley got busy quickly. Replaced baseboards, some doors, some cabinets and coordinated with painting and flooring contractors. Talley always interested in my response to work in progress. Talley adequately addressed few concerns that we had. Talley sympathetic to our problem and tried to restore our house as quickly as possible.
If I had to do this over agin, I would consired moving all or most of the furniture out of the house. Talley worked around these obstacles as best they could.

WCounter that was rebuilt did not match other counters (wood). Other cabinets not touched up and quarter round on floor in front of replaced cabinet was no longer there - damaged one gone and not replaced
Texturizing and painting were done to my satisfaction.

"According to our accounting files this job was completed in Dec. of 2005....eight years agoand the total collected was $6,184.04. After this review was submitted to us we contacted the homeowner to discuss this. We destroy our job files after 7 years, which is 2 years past our longest warranty date. This would be the file that would have notes about exactly what work was done. I can only say that if she had contacted her estimator and her insurance company at the time we could have addressed this and possibly gotten her upper cabinets replaced as well. Apparently her insurance company only paid for her lower cabinets to be replaced. It is impossible to completely match an existing cabinet that was 19 years old at the time (according to HCAD)."

All in all, the repairs went well. The subcontractors were mostly good, although the electrical contractor that Talley hired was not good. Strictly speaking, the electrical work that was part of the damage repair was ok. We hired the same electrician to perform code upgrades at the same time and it was that work that was unsatisfactory. In any event, we were satisfied with Talley Construction and would use them again.

They were referred to us through our insurance company but they did do and completed work for us. They were excellent. They were very good and very prompt. At the end, we had just a little bit of trouble with them with our kitchen cabinetry but they came out and they did fix it and it looks great. A year later, we've had no problems with any of the work they've done. They were courteous, professional and efficient. The subcontractors they used were very good because they did subcontract some of the work but we didn't have no issues with them whatsoever.

They did an excellent job. It was a very reasonable quote and it was repair for some water damage. I had an AC installed and they forgot to put an overflow pad in which caused it to rain in my house and Talley came in and fixed that problem. I liked their pricing, their professionalism and their service. Their service was excellent.

The entire experience could not have gone any better. Tally was punctual, responsive, and very easy to work with. All of their sub-contractors (tree removal, painting, framing, roofing, electrical) performed high quality work, and were very professional as well. The main contact person assigned to our case, Dale, was very good at keeping us informed on the progress and making sure that our expectations matched what was being done.
Tally also did an excellent job of interfacing with the insurance company. In fact, after Tally showed up, we pretty much didn't speak with the insurance company again until after the work was finished and they called to make sure we were satisfied with the service (we were.) We never had to worry about reimbursement, claims forms, haggling over price, etc...Tally handled all of it.
Some of the work (electrical) was done in addition to the repairs. This portion was broken out cleanly and invoiced to us. I was very pleased with the price.
In all, Tally left a very positive impression on us. We would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others!

I found them through my insurance company as they were a preferred vendor. They were prompt, worked with my insurance company and adjuster and obtained all clearances for additional repairs as required. They completed all the work in a timely fashion and on budget.

This was a State Farm insurance job due to flooding damage from a toilet tank cracking and leaking overnight. The crew was great, always polite and courteous and on time every morning. They were proficient in their craft. Tally is a professional company and the employees are professional and know their stuff. I would highly recommend them.

Very bad. I do not recommend Talley Construction. They performed temporary repairs to my roof that did not hold up in the weather.
The tarp applied to my roof tore and permitted water penetration into my building.

Response from Talley Construction Co Ltd
"According to us the customer at this address was named Member. Member's insurance call our emergency number on a weekend to do a temporary (key word) emergency cover up to a portion of her roof. Temporary cover ups are not guaranteed as they are intended to hold for a few days until permenant repairs can be done. We charged Ms. Wieser according to the pricing in her insurance company's price guide and they issued a check to her accordingly. She could have hired someone off of the corner and had it done cheaper but we are a reputable (38 yrs) business with an office front, vehicles and insurance and her insurance company prefers to do business with reputable contractors. Again, these were temporary repairs meant to hold for a few days. She would not release the funds to us that the insurance company paid her and we sent her a demand letter from our office. We did not hire an attorney."

Our home was hit by a lightning bolt that set fire to the attic. The damage was considered "moderate" and, other than the burned attic structure and decking, was mostly cause by water damage from the fire department extinguishing the attic fire.
We hired Talley Construction at the urging of our AAA insurance adjuster - who has been a genuine gem himself! - rather than falling for the lying b.s. pitches of the vultures who flocked to the fire scene before the fire was extinguished and continued to pursue us, even invading our house the day after the fire while we were salvaging a few things to sustain us during restoration.
Mark Lawton, Talley's rep, and David Foteh, project manager for our restoration, are both fine gentlemen: thorough, understanding, honest, competent, and they do what they promise and have been highly responsive to our needs, our frustrations, our wishes.
All the subcontractors hired by Talley - structural work in the attic, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, painting, carpeting and ceramic tile - have been superior in their crafts, as well as pleasant personally. Talley has been more demanding and picky that we would ever have been, and as a result we have a much better house after the restoration than the builder constructed to being with.

He tore out the dish washer and sink two days before thanksgiving and didn't replace that until January 2nd. We had to watch dishes in a half bathroom off the kitchen for almost two months. When we contacted him about the work, he said he did not sign a contract so he didn't have to hurry up and do anything. All he had to do was come out, put a clamp on the leak and then return when he was able to complete the work instead of tearing everything out. He also did not cover the kitchen area and to this day, there is still concrete dust floating throughout the entire house. My wife's elderly parents were over for thanksgiving and had to inhale the smoke and dust which was ridiculous. He would send guys over about once a week to work on things and while they did a great job, he scheduled them very poorly and we felt like our project was put on the bottom of his list. They also did not evenly measure when installing the tile around a window in our kitchen and one side has much more tile than the other so it looks uneven. We also chose a beige paint color for our bathroom and we came home to find they had painted it an awful peach color that is completely different from the color we chose. The painters did do a great job but it was just the wrong color.
Response from Talley Construction Co Ltd
"Our company did not do the tear out work that he is referring to; another company did that work. This work was a result of an insurance claim that was filed for water damages and a remediation company was called out at the insurance company’s request to do the tear out and remediate the area. The insurance company called us to write an estimate for the rebuild which we turned in to them in a timely manner, however, they would not allow us to start the rebuild until they had approval from the adjuster for the scope of work to be done. They signed a contract for us to do the rebuild on December 10th and she signed a certificate of completion and satisfaction on Jan. 5th. Considering the holidays this was only about 3 actual work weeks time. The only part of this complain that might apply to us relates to the tile and the paint color. They never complained to us directly and the paint color is the color that she selected and signed for. Actually, if they had told us that they were not happy with their selection, since it is a small area, we would have repainted it for them at no charge. We have no knowledge of a problem with the tile around the window but feel like it probably has to do with the wall or cabinets being out of plumb…again, we can’t do anything if they don’t communicate with us. We have tried to contact them since this report but they will not return our calls."
