Elmer and his team were professional, speedy, and very careful with my furniture. They had to spend extra time wrapping the furniture because it was raining. I would definitely recommend them to anyone moving

the Mr. Ronnie guy set me up with people who did not care about anything but a pay check. DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM! They called me the night before to confirm my time/move. The next day with 30mins left in the 4 hour window they gave me, still not answer from them! I had to CALL THEM and ask for an update. Some girl gave me the number of the guy, and I guarantee, they forgot about me. He had NO idea about ANY of the details of my move. The time he was suppose to be there, how many rooms, etc...nothing. They literally asked me 5+ times the details of my move. Then, they ask the random neighborhood kids if they can help pack my boxes into the truck....excuse me?? Why the **** am I paying you 85+/hr if you're not going to do it?! If you live anywhere in Texas, you know by 3PM especially on a Friday afternoon in Houston, this is when traffic starts to get bad. Guess what, my move time was 11am-2pm... I wouldn't be stuck in an hour long traffic of people getting off of work and whatnot, literally no one in their right mind would want to move, let alone be on the highway at this time!!! So here were are after 3PM when they finally arrive...a little after 4 we FINALLY leave. Want to know what the hold up was? He was upset at all the traffic, and kept trying to get ME to pay for the toll of the truck. Guess what?! NOT MY PROBLEM, YOU SHOULD'VE REMEMBERED AND GOT HERE AT THE SCHEDULED TIME BETWEEN 11AM-2PM. Student Movers is that cheap that they wont pay the toll for their drivers, why the **** should I?! So what usually takes 30-40mins, took a little over an hour. Called the office to let them know this is isn't right, and I shouldn't be paying for the extra travel time because of their drivers lateness. Some girl, says to call Ronnie on Monday and he will fix the difference. Called Monday and talked to Ronnie...he has my information and has not tried to call me back. Did I mention I have a video of them about to drop my TV as they load it in the truck? what a joke this place is...they charged me for an extra 20mins too...want to know what he hold up was again? I had one more piece of furniture, the couch left in the truck...one guy was taking his precious time on the phone for about 10 of the 20mins. I left to go to the front office quickly to get my parking decal since I left it earlier...ended up taking about 15mins instead of 5mins. When I got back, barely anything had been moved from the truck to the apartment in that time. I only gave a tip, because despite their business ways, the guys were very nice. Overall, not worth the time, energy, hassle, and for sure the money spent. Please listen, don't waste your efforts on a company that doesn't care for it's customers.

This is the first time I have EVER written a bad review on ANYTHING. Why? Because no company or person has ever made me so mad to make me take the time out to do it. However, student movers has frustrated me so much. I called to make an appt for a Saturday move a week in advance and when I called the time-of them getting here, they said they cancelled our move because I didn't answer their call the day before. However, I have NO missed calls. Nor did they even try calling my husband who's number I also provided. Then come to find out, they lied after talking to someone else there and it was their own fault on why it was cancelled. We had our entire day planned around this move time because I had a family event to go to later today that I will now miss. They did offer a $50 discount for another day but I'm sorry, that is just not good enough. I DO NOT recommend Student Movers or if you use them, make sure you follow up constantly in reconfirming your appt.

I have used Student Movers two times in the past. Previously I made the mistake of not checking the truck after the mover finished and they got a way with a few items. I called to complain to the management but their GM is not interested in hearing anything critical about his business. Even though I told him I wasn't filing a police report, just wanted him to know. I went with these guys again because they were reasonably fast and seemed to be available at the last minute. This time, however, to make the same move they took 6 hours and not 3-4 hours as they had done previously. And on the previous move they made an additional stop to pick up items from storage, and they had a long carry because we didn't have access to the freight elevator. Other than taking longer to move, they did good care of our furniture except for the media stand. They damaged a cabinet door and the mover acknowledged it was damage but did not fix it or tell me how it would get fixed. When I called management to discuss the length of time it took to move, he was not open to any reasonable discussion and I had to file complaints with the BBB (complaint #11568252) as well as TxDOT (complaint #55994). In the future I will be getting quotes using an inventory list rather than they way they prefer to do business of just sending out movers and letting them ride the clock.

I wish I could give them -1000 stars. I made an appointment for 2 movers to arrive between 9 and 10 am. At 9:30, the mover calls and says he has a flat tire. At 11:30 they were 25 min away. At 12:30 there truck broke down! It's 1 pm and I'm STILL waiting on movers. The owner calls to apologize and offers a $28 discount. What?!? I've been waiting on ragedy trucks and "the best you can do" is give me $28??? Then he tells me not to stress over the small stuff. When someone is paying you for a service, you don't get to determine what qualifies as "small stuff". I will NEVER use them again or recommend them to anyone else. Two of your trucks break down and I'm the one with the problem. Save your money, so don't use them! They are dragging my wood furniture on the concrete!!!!! I'm reporting them to the BBB. This is how ppl get sued. So the owner, Mike, called his mover to curse me out about my review. He then told me he only dealt with customers with common sense

The scheduling process was quick and easy and I received confirmation calls right on schedule to confirm everything.  The crew showed up on time.  I was only moving belongings into my garage and had inquired if I could get a discount since I did not need the truck.  I was told no as it was a package deal with a 2 hour minimum.  Sure enough the crew showed up in a small sedan (no truck) and only had 1 dolly.  I was kinda perturbed since I was at least expecting the guys to show up with an appliance dolly.

As for care of my belongings, I think they did a good job.  Everything of importance got plastic wrapped.  Nothing got broken but my house did suffer some damage.  They dinged my exterior door pretty good with some of the furniture and they left large gouges in my hardwood floor from moving the fridge.  I would have been p***** but the floors are getting refinished anyway.  Overall I was unimpressed with how they handled the appliances, particularly the fridge (more damage to the exterior door jam getting it out).  I believe the main issue was trying to use a normal dolly to get the job done.

I was also not pleased with the payment process.  They take credit cards, which is nice, but part of the payment process is one of the movers taking a photo of your credit card on his (I assume personal) Andriod phone.  I questioned the photo and was told he was required to take it to get paid.  Seems like a VERY poor practice in today's age of rampant credit card fraud.

Overall I might use them again if I needed smaller items moved, but I would not recommend for a whole house move or anything large.

Appointment was set for Saturday afternoon.  They called the day prior and offered an earlier time slot, which worked out well for me.
The movers arrived and were very professional and efficient.  They wrapped certain items to avoid any issues during the move and were very careful with delicate items.  They were attentive and followed instructions on certain aspects of the move.
Would be very happy to recommend this crew!

Communications with Office were professional and fairly easy. 
The Good :
1) We hired a 3 man crew to show up between 1 and 4 pm.  They called several times after 1 pm to let us know the status of their arrival. They showed up at 4pm on the dot.
2) All the men worked nonstop despite heat and late hour.  The load and unload took a total of about 5 hours.
3) The crew lead was friendly and polite to us.
4) All items moved were treated well and nothing was broken or missing at the end of the day :)
The Bad:
1) Complaints about the weight of our furniture and the size of it.
2) Complaints about the way both houses were built ( too small ).
3) Racist comment about our new neighbors ... we moved from Heights to 5th Ward.  We have a lot of books, the non-lead crew member said " No one in this neighborhood reads".  I rebuked him and said the comment was not cool and that I was certain my neighbors read ... but yeah , way not cool.
4) This crew was a "contract" crew for Student Movers and had to pick up a 3rd mover before arriving at our home.  I don't know if this is common or not.  This 3rd gentleman was a slightly older Hispanic fellow who spoke little to no english.  Both of the other white crew members spoke to him harshly and treated him with very little respect.  It was not cool.  He worked just as hard as they did , maybe harder - no one was being a jerk to them.
4).  The non-lead white crew member was very heavy handed with the comments about how and why we should tip them very well, in cash, and complained about how the company stole their tips and did not want me to document on the sign-out paperwork that I had tipped them at all.  He said we should feel  "lucky" that they had come out because other crews were slow and would have charged more.  He also complained when I tried to pay the bill with my bank issued credit card (First Service Credit Union - Mastercard ) in the end he had me write a check and leave the payee blank .  Over all , this guy made me uncomfortable and had a pushy vibe. 
For the record : I tipped those 3 guys $180 in cash and I certainly hope they gave the Hispanic gentleman a fair share of it.  Total for this move was the $545 plus the $180 tip ...
Over all the work the crew did was good , but I don't think i'll be calling Student Movers again ...

I want to give this company an A because the movers were so phenomenal. Talk about TRULY taking care of your own furniture like it's your own. I was so worried about dings, dents, scratches or broken items and they really took care of everything! Their punctuality, however, was a different story. I was told that I should expect them around 1pm because they had a light schedule. I got a call at about 1pm letting me know that they would be there by 1:30 - no problem! I then get a call at 1:50pm from the driver telling me that he's lost and needs my address to put in his GPS. Why he didn't already have this I'm not sure. Then at 2:30pm he tells me that he put in the wrong address and is over an hour away! Our move didn't even get started until almost 4pm! On top of that, they didn't fill up the moving truck before they came to pack up my house so they had to stop on the way to my new place to get gas! I will say that despite these things, they were great and worked very diligently.
