The work was performed exactly as outlined and exactly in the time frame I was told. (In fact, they did the job almost a week ahead of when they originally scheduled it.) The workers were quiet and efficient. I had almost no debris to pick up after the job. The fence looks great. The gate hardware is good quality and works well. From start to finish, Jason was easy to work with.

Everything went perfect. They came out, bid the job, we scheduled and they completed the work. Straight forward company that builds a great fence. You can SEE the quality is a better fence than what you see around in the neighborhood. It's been about two years and the fence still looks great! This is our go to company for any future fencing needs.

I called Slater Gate and Fence and got an answer right away. That next day they were there giving me an estimate. Jason was very professional and and prompt. The estimate was much lower than any others i received so I decided to go with them. My HOA can be very strict and they were very patient in working with me to make sure I was following all HOA guidelines. The gate looks awesome and I have had it for 5 months now. They did accidentally hit one of my pipes for my sprinkler system (which i would assume happens often) but they fixed it for me when i brought it to there attention. I'd highly recommend.

Slater installed within 2 days and did a great job getting everything working properly.
About 2 months later we had a problem (gate opened but did not automatically close as we had programmed it to). 3 beeps from unit indicated "low battery" per the manual. We called Slater who came out the same day and found that the motor controller malfunctioned (potentially from a power surge or strong storm night before) but was easily fixed by turning off/on the power to the unit.  The gate went back to proper operation.  No problems since then.  They did not charge for the service call.

Install happened fairly timely and only minor hiccups . Problems within months of install supposedly as a result of drought. (Like we don't ever get droughts in Texas?) Gate required multiple adjustments in the first year as it moved out of position. Finally no adjustments were possible and they wanted to charge me almost a $1000 to reset the posts. It wasn't until threatening with small claims court that they agreed to fix. Made it it extremely difficult to schedule and took several weeks. Product failed to perform within a year of install and was inoperable within 15 months.
Update 2 years later- the paint and not the powder coating I paid for is now peeling off the fence! The company is a sham!

Jason Hartzog came out and met with myself and 2 other board members to discuss what we needed. He showed up on time and took measurements ect.. He then left and said he would get back to us with a quote for the work. He submitted the quote in a timely and manner and although it was a bit high we decided to go with Slater because we had a preexisting relationship with the company. The work was done over the course of about 3 days. I noticed that while they were putting the additional pipe and panels in that they were using only small spot welds to hold everything in place. I assumed they would go back at the end and finish the welds. I also noticed that many of the welds they did use were very sloppy but again I assumed they would go back and clean things up. I had to leave town the last day of work and when I got back I looked at the work and realized they had not finished any of the welds. There were multiple openings in the welds and no attempt had been made to finish the open areas in the pipes. The crew had also been very sloppy in painting and had over sprayed primer onto sidewalks walls and other areas of ironwork. I contacted Jason and explained that the areas needed to be finished and he agreed to meet me a few days later. He inspected the areas and agreed the work was not finished correctly and said he would send his people back out to finish the work. He did not contact me to let me know when his people would be out to finish the work and so I was not there when they came back out about 3 weeks later. When I did get back I inspected the work and noticed that the new welds were far smoother than the original ones had been. Impressed I ran my finger over one of the welds and realized that what appeared to be a weld was actually a bead of grease that had been placed over the holes and then sprayed with red primer to give the appearance of a weld. I again contacted Jason. He replied by email and said and I quote " I spoke to my guys. They said that there are a few areas that they did put some black caulk to fill in holes because they could not get in the area with a stick to weld it. They said there are very few of these spots and they did weld a great deal of the pipe that we discussed. Can you take a closer look at the work we did and just see if it is much less than what you are describing. " Again I contacted him and explained to him that there had not been a single actual weld finished and that the "caulk" they used was just grease (I found the tube in the building dumpster). I took photos of the welds and the grease and emailed them to him. He said that he would send his "guys" back out. I informed him that I did not want the same crew to come back out and wanted someone who knew what they were doing. After almost another month of prodding Jason to get his crew back out I finally threatened to file a report with the BBB and here at Angies list as well as with the head office at Slater. He replied that he would have his guys right out to fix the problem. One month later I received an email in which Jason told me "his guys" were at the building working on the welds and wanted to know if I was there. By the time I got there they had left. Most of the welds were finished but with welds that are extremely crude. There are places where they burned through the sheet metal leaving holes and they left pieces of welding rod lying around. The didn't even bother to re-prime the areas they welded. I could not be less happy with the way Slater handled this situation. From the complete lack of communication the poor quality of the work the dishonesty of the employees and the overall poor attitude from Jason I could not recommend this company to anyone. My condo building has already decided to hire a different company to take over maintenance on our automatic parking gate so that we do not have to deal with this company ever again. It took 3 months to do what should have been taken care of in 3 days.
