SERVPRO OF CHAMPIONS 1960

When we got a phone call from our next door neighbor that there was water running out of our front door, we returned as fast as possible from an out of town weekend trip.  Our first call was to our insurance company who recommended ServPro.  Of course I went to Angie for area recommendations! We called ServPro Champions whose address was nearby. They showed up Sunday night, did basic water extraction procedures with fans and pulling out rugs for 2-3 hours. The men removed 2 area rugs for cleaning. They returned the next morning to finish ripping out carpets and baseboards, more fans and other equipment.  Around noon on Monday my husband realized that his wedding ring was missing from the master bathroom drawer where he had put it before going to bed Sunday night.  This is routine for him, but we took everything out of drawers and cabinets in the area to search.  No ring to be found.  On Tuesday, when Eric, the company supervisor, showed up, we told him of the missing ring and his words were, "we'll make this right." We moved out of our house during repairs.  When we moved back in mid-June and contacted ServPro Champions for return of our rugs, we, of course asked about resolution of the missing wedding ring.  Eric told us that he had talked to his boss, who said we should file a police report. If that was their approach to "making it right", we were furious.  My husband called Eric's boss, Michael Johnston who said they had talked to their men, and "they said they didn't do it" so we should file the police report. We did file the report, which we would have done in April had we known that was ServPro's final response to the theft, but now have no recourse other than taking them to court.  That won't replace the sentimentality of a 29-year wedding ring, but we haven't ruled it out because of the financial loss. Our biggest mistake was taking them at their word initially, trusting their integrity, when Eric stood in our front hall and told us they'd "make it right."

Serve Pro did a good job of repairing my carpet. They did everything I asked them to do without any gripes or hassle. They seemed to like their job. They showed up on time and finished in a timely manner. I couldn't see no problem as it was like their was never a repair done.
