Scott Ballard Architect

Overall, Scott did an outstanding job. Our house to this day receives compliments about the design including such compliments from neighbors as "my favorite house in the neighborhood" and "I wish more of the new construction around here was like your house." The home is a mediterranean design with columns on the second floor in the front of the house. The only dings against Scott I would say is that we paid for some oversight of the job, and I'm not sure we really got our money's worth in that component of the job. The other thing is that he is old school and used blue prints, not computer aided design software (although he may use CAD now). The problem here was that he made a small change on a dimension near the kitchen that did not take into account the effect of that change on the kitchen cabinets. As a result, we have one cabinet that is smaller than we wanted. Its not a huge deal, but I think a CAD system would have caught that error before construction began. Like I said, overall, he did a great job and we are thinking of building a new house and I plan to call him to be our architect.
