Same Day Appliance Repair Houston

Initially, I had created a glowing review of Same Day because I felt, at the time, that their availability and response was stellar. The fact that Cassie was extremely attentive and professional and Rudy coming out the same day and address issues with my fridge was awesome. Unfortunately the experience turned sour as the fix did not resolve my issue and I needed someone to come back out. Since Rudy did not change any parts, just provided "service", he let me know that if problem persists within 2 weeks, that would be the only time I would be able to have them come back out for a warrantied event. Within a week, I ended up calling same day back out for services. Suffice it to say, I was given the run around the whole day. The guy did not come during the scheduled time and even afterwards. He let me know that he needed to touch base with Rudy to see what he did and that he would come out after that. My better judgment understood these folks were not really about fixing issues more so than taking money and not holding on to their end of the bargain, so I reached out to another company and my problem is fixed. I could see if I was trying to jipp these guys and not pay, they had a trip charge and I was billed for some additional service...I paid. All I wanted to do is get my fridge fixed. I was transparent in the work already done, and I'm glad I was. I am sure they would have tried to tell me I would have needed a boat load of parts. These guys didn't look at the future value of money more so they looked at making the quick buck. If you want a place with questionable service and questionable follow up, choose service. If you want your appliance fixed and for a fair price, go elsewhere...

Their technician came out three times and gave me three different reasons why my dishwasher didn't work. I have spent $143 and nothing has been fixed no parts ordered nothing has been done when I requested a refund. I was told it was warranty work. I do not see warranty work here nothing has been done. They refused to give me my money back and wanted to send out a another technician my response "you had three shots at it and failed I need to call somebody else I want a refund." So what they're saying is you pay them $143 when they come out the first time and they can come out as many times as they want and call it warranty work and be totally in apt and not know what they're doing and still refuse a refund. This is not going to end with just a review, I can see legal action in there very immediate future. I talked to the owner on 4/19 he stated he would issue a refund, it never happened. This is a local company less than 10 miles from my house, mail delivery would be less than 2 days. The owner was more interested in me changing my review then understanding the problem. I would never recommend

I called on a Sunday and needed an after work appointment. They said they only do 3-hour windows and she would call me back in 10 minutes. She never called back. I called again in the morning and made an apt. for 5-8 pm. At 6:00 pm, I called and told them I would be home for the appointment. By 7:45, I had no word so called the office. She said she had tried to call me but got no answer, but that the technician said he would stop by. I had been sitting by the phone the entire time and had no record of a call nor did the technician stop by. In fact, since I was his last call, he went home at 6:30 and they couldn't reach him. Phone is often busy, receptionist is non flexible, unapologetic, and rude. Go elsewhere. There are many A-rated companies.

BEWARE WHEN YOU CHOSE TO USE THIS COMPANY. I first called them to ask to have a tech come to my house to give me a quote. told me that I would be charged a $59 fee to come out to give me a quote, but that the fee would be waived if I went ahead with the service. The technician came out the next day. He was here for 15 min, enough time to pull out the fridge and look behind to diagnose the problem. He then told me the problem was fixed (there was a piece that needed to be moved which was causing the rattling). He then told me that my bill would be $125. I was never quoted anything higher than $59 and I never gave them permission to fix the issue. He said he would call the office to see if he could get my fee down due to the fact he wasn't there that long. They reduced the technician fee from $145 to $125, but would not come down any more than that. I was not upset about the reduction in the fee as much as I am upset that I specifically called for a QUOTE and was then charged $125 for the service (that I NEVER told them to do). The technician told me I would need to contact the manager. This was Friday night, and the manager was already gone for the day, but I was told the manager would call me first thing Monday morning. I did not get a call the entire next week. I called them back a week later. It took me 3 days to get in touch with a manager- they were not sympathetic to what I had to say nor did they care do to anything about it. I asked to speak with the owner and a month later- I have yet to hear from them. I try to give companies the benefit of the doubt when trying to fix a problem, but this company does not care about their customers at all. I told them I would be writing this review and they still didn't care because at the end of the day- they got their money. This is a SCAM to me. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Also- they only accept checks and cash, NO CREDIT CARDS. This was never communicated to me until the bill was handed to me.

Service was arranged on the same day, technician Kevin was on time, courteous and knowledgeable, he stayed for good 45 min to ensure that machine is not leaking anymore. You can't beat 1 year warranty as compared with 90 days for Sears. I hope, though, that I will not have to use the warranty. So far so good.

The technician arrived on time and was professional. He needed a part and went back to get it so that I would be serviced the same day, really appreciate the extra effort to take care of the customer.

It was horrible. They sent out a young guy that looked just as confused as I was...so much so I had to finally ask him if he'd done this before. He did a few checks then spent most of the time outside on the phone. I didn't feel comfortable having him TRY to repair my refrigerator. He kept pulling at the framing around the water/ice dispenser after I explained to him that it doesn't come off...and ultimately told him that if he breaks it they bought it. I finally just told the guy that I didn't have confidence he could fix it and asked him to leave. To add insult to injury the owner calls me and accuses me of not allowing his tech to do his job...yet I was the one the tech asked to push the button to help in one of his tests...I was the one Googling the model to help the tech try to figure out root cause...I was the one offering the tech a ladder because he couldn't see something on top of the refrigerator... I would've respected it more if he had just admitted that the guy was out of his depth vs blaming the customer. Needless to say I was extremely offended. Don't accuse me when your tech shows up and doesn't know what he's doing. The owner tried to check me on my tone and then offered to send the brand expert out and the question in my mind was why didn't you do that in the first place particularly since they asked about the model of the refrigerator and the model number. So unprofessional. Finally, I just had the whole house painted and the tech was slinging the metal plate off the back of the refrigerator all reckless...I had to ask him to be careful. So I guess it's OK to damage property while repairing, or not repairing, the appliance. And just when I thought walking across my grass was enough...how about a little respect for people's property...could I have gotten a little bit of that!?!?!? ... at least since he couldn't fix it. Personally, I would never recommend this provider...so buyer beware.

Technician was young and knowledgeable about my specific refrigerator, said it was a common issue. My only complaint is it still cost $55 for him to be there less than 5 minutes, I explained what the problem was and he walked over and toggled the switch, could have suggested this over the phone if it was that obvious.

The repairman showed up on time. He explained what the problem was and fixed it. It worked for a few months, but started malfunctioning again. The same repairman returned and replaced the belts again. He explained that we needed to lighten the loads when using the dryer because it's an older model. The great news was that we didn't have to pay anything since the first repair was still under warranty.

They did not repair my ice maker, after three (3) visits, making me wait 3 times for 3-hour windows that the technician was late for, each time. They caused my ice maker to overflow overnight, after replacing the supposed defective part, making me clean up the mess for 1 1/2 hours. The tech damaged the ice maker, saying that aside from the one part he replaced, that there were two more parts needed, and after the third visit, he hurriedly left and told me that he had other Customers waiting, and that I should observe the ice maker, and that he would call back to give me prices for the two other parts. After all was said and done, the ice maker still was not working, and when i called the manager, Arturo, to get a refund of my money, I was told he would tell the owner. The technician never called back, the manager never called back, so in exasperation, I purchased a new, comparable refrigerator from Home Depot for $898.00 only. I called the manager a second time the day before the new refrigerator's delivery, to tell him that if he wants the part installed, to come get it because Home Depot would haul the old ref away. I was referred to the wife of the owner, Taricia, who very haughtily said she cannot and will not refund me my money, after having told her the whole story (again), and after being maltreated badly as a Customer. She even threatened to fight against my getting my money back. I believe Angie's List should not only post this bad review, but should pull their recommendation of this Company.  How many bad reviews do we need to read about company, before they are delisted from Angie's List?

not very happy with this company.  Not only were they an hr. late and not bothering to call to let me know( that's not their policy, I was told)but the owner felt $15 should suffice to cover that.  They had to order the part since they don't typically carry parts for my washer because it is a high end product, and that they would call me on Monday once they got the part. They never called, when we called them in the afternoon to see if they had the parts, they had no records of us.  My husband told them we had a receipt from them saying we had paid.  When I called an hr. later I was given an appointment for a few days later.  When the guy showed up, he told me he was not going allowed to do the repairs until I removed my unfavorable rating of them from their previous visit.  I told him I would be happy to do so after the repairs were done, but was told that was not acceptable.  the review would have to be completely removed, not just modified before he was allowed to do the work according to his boss and owner.  I told him that was not an acceptable solution, and that you can't hold a customer hostage until they remove their review.  He said he was leaving, and would not come back. Talking to owner didn't change anything, as she rambles on and does not allow you to talk, but prefers to talk on top of you. After reading other reviews about this company, I followed the advise of another disgruntled client that had posted a review and called that company instead.

Our refrigerator stopped working Friday afternoon. We called

afternoon, diagnosed the problem and explained to us that the compressor was
broken and needed to be replaced.  He
said he would ordered the compressor on Monday and come fix the refrigerator on
Tuesday, and he came back on Tuesday just as promised and fixed the refrigerator,
The refrigerator works beautifully now.

So far the Refrigerator to date is working right.
However, Sometime later (04-03-15 I noticed there were 2 dents mid-way about 1inch apart R Door
 pulled back to install the thermostat, and that's when it happened. The counter top is right up against the door , when the refrigerator is pulled out the door has hardly no clearance. pulled out to work in back for part installation.After numerous calls,2 weeks ago a Company Rep. took pictures. There has been no contact other than my frequent calling.On  03-23-15, second house call needed we were having the same problem Sam had a helper with him.  At this point I asked Gina if they were affiliated with Angies list. She said yes we are.
 I spoke to Gina (owner) today 05-19-15. She said the Technician Sam did not cause the dent, all their employees are God fearing people, he would know if he did it.She asked me if I saw him do it. Maybe I or a family member did it. 
Her question now was what did I want from them, so she could discuss this with her husband, and later contact me.

Called Same Day Appliance Repair Houston around 9:00 am for a refrigerator that wasn't working properly.  I was told a technician would be out between 9-11:00 that morning.  At 10:00 I received a call that a technician was on the way and not 5 minutes later my doorbell rang!  Talk about punctual!  What a great first impression!  Their technician, John, continued to impress me by knowing the exact problem.  He quickly told me what I would need to do to get my refrigerator running properly again.  After a few frustrating and long phone calls to Kenmore and Sears to see if he could get the part, John informed me the part I needed was under warranty.  He educated me on how I could call Kenmore myself and get the piece replaced for free.  Talk about honest!!  Great folks, great service!  I will definitely call them back if I have any problems in the future!  Thank you, John!

Charges $200 for almost nothing.

This is a company that goes by multiple iterations of the same name, ie. www.samedayappliancerepairhouston.com, www.samedayappliancerepairkaty.com, www.samedayappliancerepairsugarland.com, BUT they pay people for reviews! It says so right on the front page of their website and has for a while!

So why YELP or even Angie's List has not banished them is beyond me or it makes Angie's List look like just another corporate hustle... they're advertising says one thing but their practices say a complete other.

Sam was very professional and knowledgeable about out GE Built in Refrigerator.  He told my husband and I everything technical we needed to know about our unit.  My husband thought that he explained everything thoroughly and we were very pleased with our experience and will definitely use again.

Same Day Appliance Repair Houston deserves a A+++ Rating.
These service persons were very courteous and CLEANED UP after their work.  You will not find many service persons that clean after their work.
Even the persons taking the calls for service are very attentive
I HIGHLY Recommend this company for service work.

Technician immediately said the problem was the timer. Sounded reasonable. Showed him corrosion on the heating element. Said it was scale. Best to leave it alone. Needed to replace the control board. Two days later replaced the control board. Total cost $365. Next cycle the problem was worse. Ran 12 minutes, said dishes were clean, and no buttons ever worked again on the control panel. Came back and put old board in to tie me over until we could try a new (maybe not defective) control board. New board did the same thing, so I had the technician leave me with the old board in the unit. At least the dishwasher worked even taking a very long time to complete the cycle.

Result was I wasted 8 days and $60, the cost of a service call, which I should have protested. I must say the technician was a polite, nice person. However, he lacked the experience and tools to diagnose and fix the problem. I had even asked if he had diagnostic tools available and he said, "No".

I called another repair company. After 10 minutes of diagnostics, the technician showed me that the heating element was corroded, and that it was not pulling any electricity to work. Thus heating water and drying the dishes was taking a very long time. It's the same heating element I had pointed out to the first technician who said it was scale and not to worry about it.

Same Day Appliance Repair may be punctual, but that's only the beginning of the repair. Without the right tools, I won't use them again. My time is more valuable than theirs. So is yours.

I had another company come out and fix it, and they charged me $200. The first time I used them was 4 or 5 months ago, and they came out to do washing machine repair, and that guy said that it would cost $500. He came out and took out the parts from the washing machine. The washing machine worked, it just wasn't wringing off the clothes, and so, he disabled the washing machine, and left the part on top of the washing machine. I couldn't use the washing machine at all, so he had to come back out and put it back together. I ended up getting a new washing machine. They are a reasonable company, they have good customer service, but because they contract out their business to independent service contractors, they loose reliability there. I would use them again, but you have to think. Their rates are reasonable, and they are a nice company, but it's just which contractor you get. The guy said he could fix the washing machine, but it would just cost $500.
