Sam's Margaritas & Party Rentals

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!  My wife and I planned my daughter's quinceanera for months.  We expected right at 200 guests and two of my daughter's most specific requests were frozen drinks for her friends (non-alcoholic, of course) and a chocolate fountain with purple colored chocolate.  We spoke to Sam's Margarita several months before the party and recieved a price of around $650 dollars for two margarita machines for non-alcoholic frozen drinks and the chocolate fountain with fruit and cheese for dipping.  We offered a credit card for deposit and were told to pay the full amount the week before or the day of the party.  We gave Sam's the address of the reception hall where the party was taking place, which is in Tomball.  The event was sacheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3.  On Friday, Sept. 2, my wife called Sam's to confirm flavors for the frozen drinks and pay the bill.  She was told the total was $667, which was no problem.  She offered a credit card and was told their credit card machine wasn't working.  They asked to have payment at the venue when they arrived.  My wife agreed and was told they would deliver the machines/fountain, etc. at around 2:30pm on Sept. 3.  Our event was scheduled to begin at 6pm.  The next day, I made a special trip to the venue at 10am to drop off a check with the party planner for Sam's.  We wanted to make sure they had their money when they delivered the machines.  We had also agreed to an additional $40 charge for same night pickup since the venue was booked on the day following our event.  Later on Sept. 3, my wife arrived at the venue (a little before 5) to take care of last minute details.  She was shocked to find out Sam's had not delivered the machines or fountain.  She called the number and got no answer.  We were very disappointed because the machines take 30-45 minutes to freeze and make drinks and our party started at 6pm.  Finally, at 6pm or a few minutes after, someone from Sam's showed up and brought in the tray of fruit for the chocolate fountain.  This person, I never spoke with him, told our party planner that he didn't have toothpicks and other items necessary for the fountain and that he didn't know the event was all the way out in Tomball.  He then told her he didn't feel like coming back to pick up the machines the same night, as Sam's had agreed to do for an additional $40 charge, and LEFT.  HE LEFT - no drink machines, no chocolate fountain.  He told our party planner we could kjeep the fruit - how kind!  No one would answer the phone when I called and I have not heard one word from Sam's - no apology, no explanation - nothing.  Admittedly, he never got the check, but my daughter did not get the frozen drinks or chocolate fountain she wanted and that we were promised.  He drove all the way to the venue, began setting up and then decided he didn't want to do it and DROVE AWAY!  Sam's had the address and name of the venue for months.  The location was not a surprise.  If they didn't want to do the job - tell me before the day of the event (at the scheduled begin time).  This is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!  I was left with 200 guests to serve without a large portion of the drinks we planned to have available.  My daughter wanted the drinks ad had told all her friends about this cool feature of her party - and she was sorely disappointed.  Please - do yourself a favor and avoid Sam's like the plague.  Use any service but this one.  This company should be blacklisted.
