Had a bit a trouble with my little 96 ford ranger and the guys at Sal's really helped a poor guy out. My second time in their shop and both visits, they gave me a diagnosis of my problem. Solution and cost. They didn't make too much fuss for the time spent doing the work and their only concern seemed to be my comfort and getting me back on the road as soon as possible. Got out faster than a doctors appt. ps. Both issues I took the truck in initially, has stopped.

Sal, Roger and the guys are my go-to for car maintenance. They are friendly guys and explain the work they are going to do. They don't pressure you into anything that is not necessary but let you know what work might be needed down the road. I always dread getting the call from maintenance shops after I drop my car off because there is always something extra that and quot;needsand quot; to be done, but not with these guys. I truly believe in preventative maintenance on vehicles and these are my guys.

I have used Sal's in the past for my oil changes instead of going to the dealer and they are usually get me in and out very quickly.

I have used Salsfor approximately the last 10 years. Last fall I brought in my car for. 60k mile tune up. They took a look at my car and determined nothing needed to be done. So honest! I recently took my car in for an oil changed and mentioned my tire pressure light was on so would they please check tire pressure. They put my car up on the jacks and found a tire that was beginning to show the threads on the inside rim. They also noticed my front breaks needed replacing. Since I've owned the car for 6 years and having never serviced the breaks, I wasn't surprised. I know I can trust him from my previous experiences with him. I currently live in Spring Branch and will soon be moving to Pearland, but I will continue to come to Sal's because its so difficult to find a trustworthy, reasonably priced mechanic, especially since I'm a woman! They also have very courteous staff. I highly recommend this shop!

I talked to Sal about necessary maintenance that I should perform on my vehicle since it had now reached about 115,000 miles. Sal went over his records and noticed that the car had never had a tune-up and advised I should have it done to increase performance and gas mileage. I agreed. I had bought the car as a used car, so I did not know if the previous owner had given it a tune-up.
We also discussed a transmission flush which once again he checked his records and I had never had done. The car was bought used so I was not sure it had been previously done. One of his mechanics looked at the color of the transmission fluid as further proof that it should also be done at this time.
The radiator flush, (the record would show it had not been done in a long time) and was also suggested I do at this time.
A few days later I noticed the car was dragging a little bit at times upon acceleration. I came back to the garage and explained to Sal the symptoms. Sal told me this is normal and sometimes it takes a week or so for the engine to adjust to the new transmission fluid. He was right after a few days, the issue went away and the car is running great.

Sal does excellent work. While the most recent work was a small job, he has done many service and repair jobs for me over the past 6 years. He always delivers on time and with no surprises.

Arrived at the business to find Sal himself ready to help me. Quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me an estimate. Was given a ride to and from my office. The work was completed the same day and I was not charged anything over the estimate. Sal was friendly and professional and I would definitely recommend and/or use him again for future services.

I looked the company up on Angie's list and saw the testimonial's as well as had driven by several times so I chose to use them for the repair on my vehicle. It was cheaper to take my vehicle there, rather than the dealership. I will use them again for any repairs.

Smooth service from start to finish

My wife and mother-in-law got stranded on the freeway when the family SUV literally shut down while they were driving. They coasted over to the shoulder. I was at work when they called me and I immediately called AAA and had them tow the SUV to Sal's. I called Sal and told them the car and wife were on their way. Roger and another tech were literally standing in the parking lot waiting for them as the tow truck pulled in. By the time the tow pulled out of the parking lot Roger and the tech had already diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel pump pressure gauge, without even driving the car based the smell of gas and other symtoms we described. They made the repairs within about 4-hours. So we came back and picked-up the SUV at the end of the day. We have driven the SUV extensively since the repairs without any re-occuring problems. The prompt and level of quality service was impressive. By the way we live about 25-miles from Sal's shop. And it was worth every penny I saved going to the crooks near my house.

It was great work, they installed two new tires, tale lights, air filter, performed a state inspection and few other miscellaneous mechanical work.

I needed a second opinion. I looked at Angies List. Sal’s Westheimer Auto Service had very good reviews. I visited Sal’s and was very impressed with both Roger and Sal. I made an appointment. Roger gave my car a thorough inspection, reported to me what needed to be fixed and what did not need to be fixed, and gave me a very reasonable estimate. I liked Roger’s and Sal’s attitude and honesty and their business approach – they fix cars, they don’t sell cars! I had the work done and have waited over a month to submit this report to see how the work is holding up. Results? I am absolutely pleased with Sal’s services. Sal and Roger have earned a new regular customer. Thank you Roger and Sal and thank you Angies List.

They were quick and friendly. For a simple nail or screw in the tire, this worked great. I've been back for a second tire and had a similar result. I recommend them.

Sal's is great. I've had several of my vehicles worked on at Sal's and never disappointed. They did a great job on the Suburban (turned it around in a day) at a price that was (not surprisingly) better than the dealership.

Roger was the technician who handled our car. He ran a diagnostic on the car and was able to determine the cause of the engine light. He did the work in a few hours for the price he quoted and he even gave us a loaner car as we only have the one car and had no way to get back to pick up our car. Our car was running fine, but he warned that this may not be the end of the engine light, as Volkswagon's engine lights like to light up.

I called after reviewing Angie's list and was told to come in whenever I wished, and that the work would take 15-20 minutes. I arrived in the afternoon, and they took my car immediately, and within 15 minutes, they were done. The price was exactly what I had been quoted, $18.00. The Honda dealership I had called, and a place in Midtown had both quoted $50.00, minimum. Amazing.

Finally an honest mechanic! I have been with every mechanic in the city of Houston and I tell you now Sal is the only honest one I have ever met. I am the controller of MBM Cleaning and after an unknown number of mechanics kept working on the same things over and over I decided to go to Angie’s list and see if I could find a great mechanic. Wow, from the second you see Sal's Auto Service one word leaps to mind which is "PROFESSIONALISM" his operation his staff all of it is run with a ton of TLC. Sal uses only the best parts based on the fact if done this way he does not have to replace the same parts over and over. I tell all who read this if you are looking for a great mechanic give Sal a try you will not be disappointed.

Truck riding and idling rough. Took the car in at 7:30 am and by 8:15 am the technician was calling to suggest 2 possibilities for the problem. We authorized the electrical work first, understanding that it might not fix the problem. As with the usual auto repair, the simple and cheap possibility wasn't the complete cure. The technician called again and we authorized the replacement of the fuel injectors. The work was completed by early afternoon. The truck rides smoothly now - better than it has in a long time. We especially appreciated the quick response and the calls by the technician to explain alternatives, costs, and give status.

Sal and his uys are great! I have going to them for years. Being a women it is get taken advantage of by auto service etc... I trust Sal completely - he has helped me many times - I just drive over and he will take a look at the problem and I know what he tells me is accurate. He has saved me alot of money over the years.

Local place. Drove in when it opened and received prompt service.

I had a list of items wrong from the dealership and wanted a second opinion, especially in light of a pending road trip. I asked Roger and Sal to prioritize and quote me before doing any work. They ruled out one item that didn't even need to be done and the quote on the rest was less than the dealership. They performed all of the work in one day and came in less than their estimate as they decided two engine mounts instead of three needed replacing. This is my second time using this repair shop and I'm very happy with them. All told with the work they saved me from doing, they came in at about half of what I would have spent at the dealership and allowed me to meet my road trip deadline with confidence about the reliability of my vehicle. Their hours are convenient for a business person, they're fast and they can even take me to work. Their labor prices and speed make up for the slight mark up of parts compared to a dealership.

I went to this company because I like the hours and they had a ride to take me to work. They are professional in their work and gave me an estimate over the phone. Their prices are comparable to the other places I researched. If you have a problem with the work, they are helpful in remedying it.

I've been going to Sal's for four years, and feel quite lucky to have found him (and Roger). I moved several miles away a couple of years ago but still go to Sal for all my auto repairs. They are courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. I've never had to return my vehicle for the same issue once they have done the repairs. Sal's crew is so fast, in four years I've only had to leave my car overnight a few times. (I do need to note that I get there early when I need service.) Their prices have always been fair compared to similar service I received over the years. I regularly refer Sal to friends, who report being treated well.

The crew at Sal's (including Sal himself) are easy to work with, do good work, they communicate well, are honest and direct and they can usually get you in and fixed pretty quickly. I've been back for other things as well and at every point where there is an opportunity for a mechanic to charge a little more or take a little advantage of the customer they have always taken the honest route. Many times if it's something trivial they can even check it out on the spot. My girlfriend actually introduced me to Sal's and continues to take her car there for the same reasons. Prices seem reasonable, but how much is trust worth? Highly recommended.
