Since purchasing the house in 2008, I have had a roof leak.  I have called numerous times for repairs; when they actually respond, they come by and are on the roof for 10 minutes.  They then come down and tell me it is repaired.  As soon as it rains again, the leak begins again.  The ceiling is ruined, and the hardwood floor has damage from standing water.

When you call their phone number, you always get an answering machine.  They only occasionally return phone calls.  I will have owned the house for 4 years in February 2012; during this time, they have been unable to fix the leak.

Had a leak coming from a cracked plastic boot/vent on the roof (we diagnosed already). Asked Roof Toppers to investigate and give quote to fix leak. They confirmed the cheap plastic boot had cracked and was causing leaks, recommended changing all 4 plastic boots for better quality metal ones. Quoted around $850, so I wanted a second estimate, since everyone advertises fixing roof leaks for under $300. Unfortunately, no other roofers responded to our calls or else they came to give an estimate and left without ever calling back. Rain storms kept coming through and we feared further damage, so we reluctantly hired them despite the price. They were always nice and professional, just really over priced. I asked to see the cracked boot after the job and he brought it to me to look at. I was happy with everything except the price.

I had a covered patio added on to my house in March/April of 2010. My contractor subcontracted out the roofing of the new patio to Roof Toppers and I assume this work would have been done under Linson Construction. So on the day that the roofing was done I looked at it with my contractor and I questioned why the shingles used were a different color (light gray) than the shingles already on my roof (brown) and my contractor told me that it was the closest match they had and that the shingles would ?fade? to be close to the same color. I didn?t pay a lot of attention at the time because we were doing major renovations on our house and there were so many issues that I didn?t really have time to deal with it. Three weeks later I fired the contractor because of his cost overruns with no legitimate excuse. In October 2010 we had additional insulation, radiant barrier, and a solar fan put into our attic. As part of this installation we were removing two old turners on the roof and would need shingles to fill in the holes. The provider pointed out to me that the shingles on our roof were two different colors. I told him what my contractor had told me at the time and this man just laughed. He said that since he had just purchased matching shingles to our original roof at Lowes that there was no way that was the closest color they could get to the original roof. He thought that perhaps when Roof Toppers arrived to do the job they had the wrong color shingles on their truck, did not want to go get the correct shingles and probably worked out a deal with my contractor so that they could use the shingles they had brought. This man suggested that I call Roof Toppers and explain the situation and have them come out to look at the roof because any reputable company would not want this obvious mistake on their record. I called and spoke with a lady at the Roof Toppers office who took all of the information and kept telling me she would have to call the ?main? office and see what they said. I never received a call back.

They did not get my business. I didn't know how much the repairs would cost, but I did know it wouldn't cost $1100.

I hired Roof Toppers to inspect the roof of a 3 story townhouse I had a contract with to purchase. They were able to do the inspection within 2 days of my initial call. Rafael came out and inspected the roof, took some pictures, and gave me a repair quote of $1100. He said he would email the pics to me that night, so I could show the seller the damage to the roof. Well, I had no intention of buying a house with roof damage unless the seller was willing to fix it at his expense. After 4 day I finally received the pictures. It took 6 phone calls from me and a call from my Realtor (who threatened legal action) to get the pics. (btw...Rafael told my Realtor that he didn't have a computer, and he had never heard of me). I picked this company based on Angie's list. Roof Toppers may do good roofing work, but I'll never hire them based on how they handled a simple task of emailing pictures. Roof Toppers (Rafael) lied about knowing me and having a computer. In my opinion if they will lie about something as small as having a computer, what else will they lie about????

We called many roof repair businesses Saturday morning, the day Hurricane Ike struck. We had two sections (one large about 50-60 shingles, the other small about 5 shingles) of the roof where the tiles blew off and water leaked into the house. Melissa called us back the following day saying roofers would be at our house the next morning. Rafael and 5 guys showed up at 7:30 am! They put 2 tarps on the house and gave us an estimate for the roof and drywall repair work. My husband and I agreed to have the work done before they left. Rafael told us that same day that roofers would return the next week on Tuesday or Wednesday. The following Monday the roofers returned to the house and made all the repairs. They cleaned up all the tile and left it and the tarps on the curb for garbage pickup. The next morning the drywall repair guy arrived. He replaced a small section of drywall, retaped, textured and painted all without taking a break.

We had severe hail damage from a storm the other week. Rafael worked with our insurance company & helped us get the money for the work that was needed. His price was so reasonable that we went ahead & did a couple of other things for us that were not related to the insurance claim. His crew was punctual & did a great job of cleaning up when they were finished.
