Richter's Services is Awesome! Steve has been trimming our trees for more than 15 years. His crew always does a great job both trimming and clean-up. Several years ago, he also managed to save our red oak that had been attacked by borers. This year we needed help fixing the front and side yards after we replaced our kitchen sewer line. Side yard is shaded, hard to water, and had very little grass, and after the plumbing, all grass was gone. After discussing options with Steve, we decided to have him gravel it. At the same time, we mentioned the drainage problem we had on our back patio. Steve took a look and came up with a drainage plan (and quote) that would work and made sense to do at the same time they removed dirt from the side yard and replaced with crushed granite. Our back patio has not flooded since Steve put in the drainage. And, our side yard no longer turns into a mud pit after each rain. I have no idea how much dirt they hauled off, but they dug down to make sure the crushed granite would be deep enough that it doesn't get washed away. We also had a new driveway, sidewalk, and front walk poured after the plumbing. We had the sidewalk divert around live oak roots so the front yard also needed help repairing all the edges around the new concrete. Steve and his crew brought in enough dirt/top soil to ensure proper drainage from the front yard since the plumbing and new concrete had definitely left high and low places everywhere. And, they laid new grass in part of the front yard such that within weeks we couldn't tell where the sewer line had been trenched and all the edges along the concrete had filled in nicely! Since the front yard needed help, we decided it was time to change up the front flowerbeds a little. I wasn't happy with one type of bush we'd put in years ago. Steve listen to my complaints and came up with a bush we are much happier with because of the shade of green, fullness, and cluster of flowers they produce. We also had them clean up and mulch both front and back flowerbeds. We just can say enough about how great Steve and his crew are. Whether our trees just need trimming or we have some yard issue that needs a professional or creative solution, Steve has always figured out what would work best and implements with the utmost professionalism. And did I mention, his quarterly fertilizing program continues to keep our yard one of the nicest looking on the block (even under full shade of a live and red oak)!

Although the work appears to be done correctly, the price set was high at $5000. Because I did not compare his price to others before starting the work as the work was scheduled right after Hurricane Harvey and I felt that it would be a long wait if I took the time to do so, I won't know how high. After starting the work, his crew discovered a problem with the older drainage system that required a replacement pipe to be installed so that he could tie into it - the existing pipe was not lined up properly to allow proper flow-- so he came back to me asking for $1600 more. Since we were already in the middle of the work, I had little choice but to allow the increase. And at that point, he could basically set whatever price he wanted as he knew I didn't have a whole of options. I felt taken advantage of at this point. His comment was that I should take his offer because if he came back later the price would be even higher. When the work was finished, I discovered that he ripped out the plants all along the beds in the back of my house and he left bare soil there as well as where he had laid some pipe. What had a little grass and some plants and some shrubs now had nothing but dirt which will create a muddy mess when there is rainfall. I asked him if he was going to put some sod there or if he was going to just leave it that way, and his reply was "that's landscaping and that's not included." !!! So he fails to mention that he's going to rip out my plants and throw them out and leave me with bare earth and dirt which will create a muddy mess after a rainfall, and making it right will cost more. He offered to quote me an additional amount to add grass. I said no thanks. I did ask him why he failed to mention that he would be ripping out my plants and throwing them out and leaving me with nothing - he had no answer for that. I paid him VERY WELL and in my view I paid him much more than anyone else would have charged and he wouldn't even make it right for his failure to communicate. I will NOT be using him again. This guy has no interest in customer satisfaction and goodwill and fails to communicate. A little sod would have been such a small price for him to pay for his omission but evidently leaving a customer with a feeling of let down and manipulation so he can move on and cash the check was more important. I thought about paying him less than agreed since he failed to communicate - but I paid him the whole thing in full. He knew I was upset but didn't give a ****. Oh, and he talked about his clients in the Memorial area as his "high end" clients which felt insulting.

They come out every week. They mostly do lawn care. They do the landscaping when I decide to change something. They did a lot of landscaping when I first engaged them. They come when they say they are going too. I have been using them for 20 years. They do a good job and they come every week.

As usual the quarterly fertilizer service went well. Besides this service, we have been using Richter to provide seasonal upgrades and maintenance to our property. For ten years, always a quality and professional job.

They did a very good job. They were very professional.

We have been using Richter Services for several years. They are not the cheapest outfit in town, but a quality company on all fronts. Steve Richter oversees the job. Attesting to the quality of the company, there doesn't appear to be much turn-over with the Richter crew. Richter Services doesn't regularly do our routine yard work. They show up at the change of seasons and do what has to be done for seasonal color, major pruning and seasonal yard maintenance.

They do very good work.

He is on a regular scheduled service. It’s very good.

They didn?t design the drain system very well. The way they put it in was awkward. I have a patio and one of the drains in the middle of the patio, a smaller drain at one edge of the patio and several other drains. They tied them into my gutters, creating a vacuum that constantly plugged up when it rained.

The actual installation was ok; they drained properly as long as I would constantly unplug them. I ended up having someone else come out and take a look at it. He told me to disconnect the drains from one of the downspout, which allowed air in and it stopped plugging up of drains.

They did a really good job for me. Their price was really good. They came within the same week that I called. They were very prompt.

It was fine. He was very courteous. He came out when he said he would. He seemed to be very knowledgeable.

They are always excellent. They are always excellent. They are not cheap but they work really hard. You definitely get your money’s worth. They are totally trustworthy. They all know what they are doing.

The work was a pretty good but it was on the pricey side for what he did. He also left some sections where there weren't any stones and the stones weren't attached to each other in any way. I felt like they could of done a little more but I thought overall it looked nice.

They were excellent. They were very efficient, fast, thorough and easy to work with.

They did a good job and I'm happy with the service, but they're a little pricey. On the initial estimate, I asked for two separate ones but I only got one, so you have to be explicit with them. I was not impressed initially, but he came out again and gave me a second estimate. I liked it a little better, but I'm going to find someone else.

His work in the past has been great. He has quality service, and I have used him for 4 or 5 years. Each time the same crew shows up to do the work which speaks to how Mr. Richter does business. He seems to treat people well. He is a little expensive, but he does good work. I had to find someone else because he was busy and put me on hold for two months. But I would use him again in the future.

Crew worked efficiently, safely and didn't leave a mess.

The men thinned out several trees and got them back to looking healthy again. The trees were in bad shape and not well manicured. I also had them remove three other trees that were not in good shape and crowding some of the others. They actually cut down a tree they were not supposed to, however it was a small tree and I was not too unhappy. There was a huge mess and they cleaned everything up before they left. I am quite happy with the work.
