The professionals at Republic Heating and Air did a fantastic job throughout the diagnosis, selection, Installation, and wrap-up process. When the upstairs A/C failed, we called Republic Air and they responded promptly. David did a thorough check of the system and quickly identified the problem, which was a failed evaporator coil in my 16 year old unit. He clearly presented my options which ranged from a very reasonably priced repair to complete replacement of the unit. He helped us make the decision to replace the upstairs unit and save the parts from the unit to be replaced and use them to keep the downstream unit running for several more years.
He clearly explained what units were available in several price ranges. We chose a high efficiency A/C with a gas furnace and variable speed blower. David explained that we would get a good tax break because of the new installation, and even found a HIGHER efficiency unit on sale for the same price. Because of the clear explanation of our choices, and without the high pressure sales that we had seen from other A/C companies, we felt very good about our choice of new units to install.
The installation scheduling and process exceeded our expectations for ease and convenience. The installation crew was very careful to protect our home while removing and installing the new equipment. I am a Mechanical Engineer, and I know quality work when I see it. I was extremely pleased with the quality and attention to detail of the installation. All components were installed carefully and correctly. The machine worked exactly right the first time. It was very impressive to see. The finished product was, by far, the best home heating / cooling installation I have ever seen, which is a testament to the installation crew and the expertise of the A/C technician.
In addition, the Republic Air crew made sure that the "little things" were taken care of, like making sure that our floors and carpet were clean, that all trash was removed, and that we were very comfortable with the new unit before they left. They proudly went over the features of the new unit, oriented me to the preventive maintenance that I could perform, explained how the system was programmed to operate, and in particular how we could control the equipment via the thermostat or through our phones. This was customer service that was, in our opinion, above and beyond what we have experienced from other A/C firms.
Bottom line is, Republic Air installed a top quality system that fit our needs for an extremely competitive price. We felt extremely good about the process, the installation crew, and the result of the work. Now we will sit back, relax, and enjoy our comfortable (temperature wise) top floor knowing that we have a quality product that will save energy and even give us a tax break. It is a good feeling !
Would we recommend Republic Air to our friends? You Bet ! We already have.
Very professional. Loved working with him Would definitely use them again.
Was amazed at how quickly they were able to take care of things.
Our family's home's three HVAC Zone's 12 year old Natural Gas Heating Systems were checked for winter preventive maintenance.
During the preventive maintenance, Bryne / Republic Heating and Air quickly identified that our family's home's three HVAC Zone's 12 year old Natural Gas Heating System's vent fan run capacitors were failing and far out of tolerance.
As I'm familiar with electronics, Bryne showed me the metered readings of each of the three zone's failing capacitors as well as showed me the marked ratings for each capacitor as well as the listed / marked tolerance codes for each of the three capacitors.
Lo and behold, Bryne was very much correct in the failing conditions of each capacitor -- in fact the capacitors were so far out of tolerance, it's surprising the heating vent fans were still working. But, 12 years is quite a long time for them to have not been replaced. So, it was definitely time to replace them.
Bryne replaced the capacitors in a timely manner during the same visit and reported that everything else with our three heating zones appeared to be working properly.
Additionally, Bryne wrote up three separate and detailed receipts (including make, model, and serial number) for each of the three HVAC Heating Systems that winter maintenance had been performed on (during the same visit) as well as detailed descriptions of the work that had been completed along with the specifications of the capacitor replacements (required / rated capacitance vs. measured), etc.
Our family has used Republic Heating and Air in the past and we will continue to do so in the future so, not much more can be said about such a seamless maintenance and repair experience other than the maintenance and repairs were completed with the professionalism and courtesy that always comes to be expected when interacting with Republic Heating and Air.
Customer service and satisfaction still appears to be Republic Heating and Air's motivation / goal and they met the mark once again!
Thanks again for the great service Republic Heating and Air!
Very pleased with their work. Technician David found the problem very quickly and provided a temporary solution. He also gave a very clear and understandable explanation of how the furnace actually worked and what the defective part did.
David and Bryne / Republic Heating and Air expertly identified the defects in our Main HVAC Zones that prevented proper Heating and Cooling on our Heat Pump System.
Also, since Republic Heating and Air are service providers for our Home Warranty Plan, the labor fees for the repairs were predominantly paid for by the Home Warranty Plan Provider (minus a $60 Trade Service Fee which was paid directly to Republic Heating and Air) and the replacement parts were covered under the HVAC Equipment Manufacture's Warranty.
We are truly amazed at the level of customer support Republic Heating and Air provides to their customers -- Republic Heating and Air literally had to be reimbursed for parts / labor through three (3) different entities (Customer Paid Trade Service Fee per the Home Warranty Plan, Home Warranty Plan Labor Reimbursement for the Service Provider, and Republic Heating and Air also still needed to swap out the defective parts directly with HVAC equipment's manufacture to receive the replacement parts under the manufacturer's warranty).
Anyway, not much more can be said about such a seamless and pleasant repair experience (or at least as pleasant as a repair experience can be) other than the repairs were expertly performed in a timely manner with the professionalism and courtesy that always comes to be expected with their interactions -- customer service and satisfaction appears to be Republic Heating and Air's motivation / goal and they met the mark once again!
Thanks again for the great service Republic Heating and Air!
Our family was introduced to Republic Heating and Air by our family's new home builder (who scheduled / directly paid Republic Heating and Air) to correct unresolved Heating and Cooling issues that the previous HVAC subcontractor that was used during construction that was still unable to get the HVAC Heating and Cooling Systems working properly in the new house's 3 HVAC Zones for 2+ years.
Fortunately, between December 2013 and February 2014, David and Bryne came to our home on seven different service call appointments and worked tirelessly to ensure that our family's heat was properly installed in our home and worked several days well past 7PM and one night past 9PM and another night past 10PM as they realized that our home's heating system was installed incorrectly be the original building subcontractor who installed our three HVAC Zones / Systems.
Also, since HVAC heating had never worked properly (for two winter seasons) David and Bryne wanted to ensure that we had some form of heat during the winter's unusually atypical cold winter.
Just to let you know, they certainly proved their knowledge, skill, and professionalism to us and we (as well as other family members) are now using Republic Heating and Air's Spring and Fall Inspection and Maintenance Program to take care of our HVAC Systems.
We can't thank Republic Heating and Air enough for their assistance on getting our family's HVAC System to operate correctly -- it's certainly been a challenging issue for all of us to get it corrected -- finally!
Once again, thank you, Republic Heating and Air, for the great work!
Fast, great communication and most importantly very HONEST and that is very hard to find now a days (based on my two previous
experience).
My experience is get at least 2 estimates on AC work, and don't jump to quick conclusions regarding AC leaks.
"We admit dropping the ball on our response time to getting a proposal back on this call and we Apologize. Our secretary was out on vacation and we did not do nearly as good of a job as she does. As to our Diagnosis of the Aforementioned items, we stand behind it and know it to be correct. We always are honest with our findings, and never do anything shady. This is why I started this company. To do the right thing, and gain the trust of our customers and not have them worry about the same issues most other a/c company's have. Now getting to the basics of the call, a 12 degree split across the system is a bad thing! This tells me the refrigerant level has already Diminished to a dangerous level. The split should be over 16 degrees, and 18-20 is the norm. Not only does the refrigerant remove heat from the home, but it also acts as the coolant for the compressor. Any time you are running the system at a less than full status, you are overheating the compressor and are Actively reducing its life. Not to mention its not able to remove the proper amount of heat from the home. Just because the air feels cool coming out of the vent, that is no indication of a proper running system. When it gets warmer this system will run all the time, overheating the compressor, and will not be able to keep up. The next thing that will happen is the coil will freeze up and will be in the condition to cause possible water damage. When all is said and done the service call and freon filling from some company trying to make a quick buck instead of solving the problem, will be realized as a waste of money, and could have been used as an investment on a new coil which is what is needed at minimum. Now freon prices have sky rocketed due to EPA regulations, and now the best option is going to be to change out the coil and condenser, swapping over to the new refrigerant. Our only intention here is to take an accurate picture of what is really going on, tell the customer in an understandable way, let them know what the options are, and empower them to make their own decisions. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment."
