Rodrigo's craftsmanship truly stands out, and every piece he crafts reflects a level of quality that's hard to match. Six months ago we hired Rod of RBF Design to build entertainment center cabinets. He asked for a 50% deposit of $10,182.00 to purchase materials. He still has not started my project. I'm asking for a total refund and still waiting to hear from him. 0% Professionalism, Thief!

We have always been very responsive to you when you have checked in with us and updated you on status. Unfortunately, given circumstances that have been out of our control, our project timeline exceeded our expectations. I understand that you are upset about the delay and not willing to wait a couple more weeks until we are able to start your project; that is fine and we advised you promptly that we would refund your deposit. In fact, you wrote this review stating that we hadn't responded to you (on a Saturday) within an hour, it seems, of sending us your most recent message. We did respond to you the same day (in fact within a couple of hours) and let you know that we would be happy to resolve this issue to your satisfaction. We shortly thereafter spoke to you on the phone and stated we would refund your deposit in full. We do take deposits to secure each client's place in the queue and to purchase materials, which we did purchase; we were not simply holding your money just to hold it. There is no need to misstate or misconstrue the facts. Good luck to you and we hope that you and your family stay safe and healthy in these trying times."

Cabinets are beautiful and flawless. I can’t stop looking at it! I needed storage space including coat hanging space with big doors along with 7 drawers underneath the stairs. Rodrigo built one with perfect lines and finish. Well worth the wait!

I should point out that I am a very analytic perfectionist engineering type.
We gave them a rough sketch of what we wanted: three individual pieces, that would connect together along one long wall in our living room. I met with Rodrigo 3 or 4 times leading up to the delivery and installation of the furniture. RBF Design was very flexible and professional in dealing with our requests. Originally we had intended to have one section support dog crates for our multiple dogs to sleep in overnight. We since have relocated where the dogs sleep to another room, so we changed this piece to be more storage drawers. Rodrigo understood very well what we were looking for, and delivered exactly what we needed. He also worked extra hard in refinishing the seams of the interconnecting pieces. This issue was caused by the carpet padding in our living room and quot;bow-ingand quot; the furniture. Had we had a perfectly flat floor the pieces would have aligned without any additional work.
The center section hides all our home theater audio/video equipment very well, and allows us to enjoy watching tv or movies without staring at all sorts of blinking lights. I had RBF Design built covers to hide the left, center and right speakers, and leave a rear opening for the sub-woofer speaker.
On all the drawers, the self closing hardware works very well, and all seams line up very well. RBF Design installed our drawer and door handles onsite when they delivered the furniture.
We highly recommend RBF Design and now are dreaming up our next custom furniture project now we know how capable they are.

Rodrigo and I designed the kitchen together, with him providing many of the fine details like using soft closing/self-closing hinges. Once the design was done, he measured and built the cabinets, without demolishing the existing kitchen. This meant that while he built the cabinets (which is time consuming) I still had a working kitchen. Once the cabinets were ready, it was time to start the demolition. From the start of demolition (which included taking down a wall between the kitchen and the laundry room, breaking up and removing an old saltillo tile floor) and re-drywalling all the walls and the ceiling) until the time the kitchen was completed, was approximately 3 1/2 weeks. Obviously, this was a real plus since it meant we only had to cook on a camp stove and have the major appliances stored in the dining room for a remarkably short period of time. Rodrigo is very professional, has a great sense of humor, is personable and, above all else, is a fantastic master craftsman.

The people there (husband and wife team) are terrific to work with. There were a lot of details to cover, and he was able to overcome problems to complete the job the way I wanted. The cabinet turned out better than I expected.

It went very well, there were responsive and largely followed the timeline of the project as was agreed on. Occasionally it was difficult to communicate since English is not Rodrigo's first language.

I initially contacted Sara and Rodrigo and told them what we were looking for. They came out and did measurements and pictures of the area in question and shortly after that they submitted a proposal with the price. A couple months later when we decided to go ahead with the project, the cabinets were created and brought over to install. We were very pleased with the overall experience. I found myself spending time just staring at our new furniture and enjoying how it looked in my office. It really has made a difference in the overall look and feel of the room. Great work!

After we contacted RBF Designs, Rodrigo and Sara invited us to their home where they showed us examples of the wonderful furniture that Rodrigo has made. We showed them the blueprints of the banquette and discussed the details of how they would make the wood frame and upholstered seats and back. I was very impressed by the attention to detail that they put in to their work. Subsequently, Sara called and visited numerous foam and fabric stores to get us the best price and quality material. I was truly impressed by the immediate responses to all of my calls and emails, and by their professionalism. The furniture was created in a very timely manner, and the delivery was very inexpensive and done by the owners themselves. About a week after using the furniture, there were some changes that we wanted with the table, and their reponsiveness to our concerns was truly amazing. They came to our house, brought the table back to their factory, made the changes we requested, and redelivered the table, all free of charge. I have never experienced such a dedication to customer satisfaction. We absolutely love the furntiture that they made and would highly recommend their services to all of our family and friends.

RBF Design first provided free consultation and estimation support for the bedroom furniture workworking that I wanted accomplished. Their approach to this phase is very pressure free and informative, and it fostered a level of exchange of ideas between customer and craftsman, that you will not likely find with any other company. Once my requirements were passed and suggestions from RBF applied to the requirements, RBF provided a quote for their services. The quoted price was very reasonable, especially given that the furniture would be custom made to fit my exact needs. Once we got the quote, my wife and I were very confident on what we would be receiving (on everything from dimensions, to custom drawers, to custom colors, function, etc.), so we decided to give RBF Design the green light. The timeliness and quality of the resultant bedroom furniture was world class, bar none! And, to top all of the above, RBF provided superb customer support on delivery and set up of our new furniture in our bedroom. To anyone looking to purchase custom furniture or cabinets (or pretty much any woodworking needs for that matter) done, I highly recommend RBF Design.

RBF Design was professional and their work was exceptional. I originally hired RBF Design to build a tree house for my daughter. They designed a great tree house and let my daughter help design the decorations. My daughter was thrilled, especially when they let her help with the painting. She has gotten a lot of pleasure out of the tree house. After the tree house was completed, I decided to have RBF design and build a wall-unit of shelves for my daughter's room and a matching desk. The workmanship is truly beautiful. You can tell that Rodrigo, the owner, loves wood. The resulting wall-unit is both functional and beautiful. After that, I had RBF Design design and build another wall unit and a dining table. Both are great. I am very pleased with the quality of the workmanship. The design process went very smoothly. All work was performed on time and the work area was kept very clean. I am very pleased with the finished products and highly recommend this company.
