A&H Mechanical Services is a family owned and operated business. We have a service area which will cover all of North Jersey and parts of central New Jersey. A&H Mechanical accepts all major cards, checks, and USD currency. Billing may be considered for commercial accounts.

Terrible experience. This contractor signed a contract to install a furnace and AC unit and never completed the agreed upon work. He continually overpromised and under delivered. He re-scheduled on at least thee separate occasions until finally admitting he was overcommitted and needed to drop my work order to finish a more lucrative commercial contract. The only part of the job he completed was the initial removal of my old AC unit which he immediately sold for scrap. So in summary, after accepting a $1000.00 deposit he left me and my family (3 small children including a 3 month old) without either a functioning furnace or AC in the middle of October.

"[Member Name Removed] please don't make up lies. I did not install CUSTOMER SUPPLIED furnace and ac unit because it was used and in horrific shape. Once I realized that the equipment the homeowner had provided me was used and damaged I decided that the low ball cash deal that the homeowner swindled me into was not worth the aggravation it would of caused us and I backed out. The homeowner also had a primary heat source for his entire home so don't act like I left you and your family out in the cold. I refunded every cent back to this homeowner and walked away with dignity. Before writing a venomous review to try and destroy a hard working family business don't leave out key details to the story!!!"

When it rains it pours. Last week I had to have my hot water heater replaced by A&H Mechanical Services. Saturday evening I smelled gas and heard the leak behind my stove. NJNG came and found the leak and shut the gas off to the stove. Turns out the previous owner installed the gas line using flex pipe through the floor which is extremely illegal and dangerous. Andre and George came out and what should have been a routine job turned into a much harder job because of the way the work was initially done by the previous owner. 2 and a half hours later of cutting, drilling, and fabricating, I have a working stove and gas line. I said it on my last review and I will reiterate, I would recommend A&H Mechanical Services to any and everyone. Great guys that do great work.

They came quickly after I called to tell them my hot water heater was leaking. They came assessed the problem and came the next day to replace the unit. They were punctual professional and did a great job. I have a 3 year old so getting hot water back as soon as possible was a priority and they came through. Would recommend them to anyone.

Andre was extremely helpful, relaxed and patient. The visit was officially for 30 minutes and I signed up thinking
what do I have to lose for trying the $29 Angie deal. That said, the visit exceeded my expectations.
Andre patiently answered all my question and provided tips to resolve the hot bedroom level.
explaining my system and the vents and even inspecting the insulation in the attic.
I had anticipated the need for follow on services but Andre advised that they were not needed
and would be a waste of money.
Andre, Thank you for all your help! It is great meeting an honest, customer oriented service provider!

It went well. Since the unit itself is relatively old, it could only be improved partially.

"I'm sorry but the homeowner had purchased a service call through Angie's list and advised me that there was nothing wrong with his equipment and just needed an inspection. I had advised him the deal he had purchased was only to be used only if you had an issue with equipment not working. If he needed an inspection done it would be a flat rate fee to come and perform an inspection. I'm sorry for any confusion and hope that my future clients don't see this F rating as sign of bad work or unprofessionalism. You just can't make everyone happy."

Andre is wonderful. We were in a time crunch with the closing date on this house and Andre not only fit us in quickly, but even called the day before because he had a last minute opening. He kept in constant contact when he ran into traffic on the way to the house. We will be using him in the future and recommending him to anyone who needs HVAC services.

George arrived promptly and was very polite. He got to work immediately and knew exactly what to do. My apartment is very old with very old pipes, but he was able to get it unclogged at a small cost. I will definitely be calling George from A&H mechanical again.

Andre was sent by our home warranty company when our boiler failed on a very cold day. The warranty company called him around 10:30 am and he committed to arrive at our house between 1-3 pm. This was much better than another company who couldn't show up until the next day and required a four hour window. He was a little late, but totally understandable as it was during a long cold snap and all the heating repair people were very busy. He called before coming to let me know he was on his way. I had previously had a repairman there who diagnosed the problem as a bad aquastat, which is a much more expensive repair. Andre confirmed that it was not the aquastat, but rather the expansion tank that caused the T&P valve to open. He thought ahead and went to the plumbing supply before he got "approval" from the warranty company because he was afraid the plumbing supply might close before he got the approval. He and his partner changed out the expansion tank quickly and cleaned up. Overall, a very good experience, especially considering it was through a warranty company, which are notoriously miserable! The $50 cost is our deductible for the warranty company, so I don't know what the actual cost of this repair would have been.
