Preferred Doors

The simple issue here is they are not helpful and will berate you and insult you if there is something wrong on their end. I purchased a garage door opener for a Guardian series Model and did my research and knew it was compatible. Turns out Guardian had updated the battery from A23 to A27 yet it was not updated on their website. I purchased A23s based on their website. No big deal... a few dollars... except when I asked them about it. They stated that if there was something wrong, it was pretty much my fault. They told me the manual says I chose the wrong garage door opener (turns out, all it needed was a new battery and it worked). I sent them a picture of the battery and they couldn't admit they may have had an outdated description... instead said I questioned their integrity. Reminder, all I asked was why there was a different battery than advertised. So... I went to Guardian's website and turns out they had in fact updated to an A27. These people are not knowledgeable. They are a middleman that has not quite kept up to date with what they are selling. If they simply said, our fault, it must have been updated, instead of insulting me and telling me I chose the wrong remote, I would not have cared.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Failed to inform customer that could take multiple weeks to ship, finally received a reply after I inquired, they say they were "waiting" on parts to arrive. After a reply, they threaten to cancel and eventually cancel my order as though I'm at fault and stating, "we have other customers who appreciate the effort we're taking". Will never do business with again, these people are jerks.

Contact the provider 3 times in order to get a response. was informed that they no longer do any repairs or installations and that they only sell spare parts online.

Joey was great. He installed a new garage door approximately two years ago and did a great job. Recently, during the ice storm, of the cables on the door came loose and we could not close our door. Joey adjusted his schedule to work in the repair during the freezing weather. I highly recommend Preferred Doors.

Joey came out the day before, gave me an estimate to do the work. They were there early the next day and did the work. New garage door, rollers track springs, the whole 9 yards. Hooked it up to the old opener. After a few test runs, the opener motor blew a capacitor. He replaced it for No charge. Very pleased with my new garage door.

He was actually early on a Saturday morning. Very courteous and educational. Told me what he was going to do and actually fixed the door so it goes all of the way down. Garage door is very quiet now! Happy with service.

I wasn't there when he came but the job was well done and the garage door's much quieter now. It seems like it was a good value. He was on time and did a good job.

I contacted Joey by phone on Monday afternoon to obtain a quote on having a new garage door installed. Joey asked me a several questions about the size, style, color of my existing door and provided me with a quote over the phone. The quote seemed fair and reasonable and we scheduled the work for 12:30 pm the very next day. Joey arrived on time and completed the installation in about 3 hours. I was very impressed overall.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, my garage door went up and did not come down. I looked for someone to repair the door same day, knowing it might be a challenge since it was Sunday and a holiday weekend.Preferred Doors was close to my neighborhood so I contacted Joey. He was at my house in less than 2 hours,diagnosed 3 issues in about 2 minues and quickly made repairs. He also provided an overall service, lubricating and checking the rest of the rollers and track. Extremeley professional and the price was on track with what I expected for the required repairs. I will definitely call Preferred Doors in the future for any repairs or service. Very happy customer.
