We had a leak in our ceiling and I called Petersen Dean Roofing to evaluate it. It took 3 days to finally book an appointment. Their process to make appointments is to leave a message with one person who calls back within a week. The roofers came and stated that I needed roof maintenance. They performed this service and changed me $1225. The ceiling continued to leak and our handyman cut out the ceiling at the site to reveal a completely open drain pipe. I could look up and see the sky through the wide pipe! I was appalled that the roofers had missed this very obvious source of leakage! I contacted Petersen Dean Roofing expressing my need for an urgent repair due to the wide open pipe into my house. I got a call back 3 days later. By that time, I had found another company to fix the broken roof drain pipe to prevent damage in my house. The person from Petersen Dean Roofing explained that it had taken so long to call me back because she had to go through several levels of bureaucracy within the company to get the answer to my question and that process took time. I then asked if the drainage pipe needed a vent on the roof. The person from Petersen Dean Roofing said she would get back to me. I am still waiting.

It didn't cost me anything because it was under warranty. It should not have leaked. I liked that they did respond immediately once it started leaking.

The work was started and completed on the same day.  The workers were extremely nice and kept everything moving at a steady pace.  A couple of days following completion of the job, there was a lot of rain and a leak in the roof.  I called to report the problem, they came back immediately (in the rain) and reported to me they had failed to put the proper glue (or whatever they use) around one of the gutters on the roof.  They apologized for the problem and within a day or so, sent someone to do a minor repair on a ceiling that was damaged.
I was very pleased with the group, and the fact that they didn't hesitate to take responsibility for a problem that was theirs, and not mine.
They were very nice people and I would definitely use them again.  I can't really say they were the lowest priced roofers around, but they used the best product and the right amount of nails (not staples) per shingle.  That's important too.  They are definitely not just a group who flies through town with no responsibility.  By the way, this was hurricane damage.

Junior came to my house and fixed the roof leaks in 2 places. He was very nice, courteous and professional. He was very responsive and came quickly during the heavy rain. We've had several rainy days since then and everything stayed dry. Very happy with Junior and the roof repairs.

In the beginning, Petersen Dean Roofing were very prompt on getting back to us and getting things set-up. They did a decent job as far as I'm concerned but my husband is extremely particular and he was disappointed in the job, they were little things and I don't even know what they all were. We had to call them back 2 or 3 times to fix the things that my husband wanted to and we had a lot of trouble communicating with the company. We feel like it might have been the volume of business that they were doing at that time, it was after the hailstorm and there were lots and lots of roofing replies. They're a fairly big company and they're all over the city, the right hand didn't seem to know what the left hand was doing. At the end, we didn't pay them because the job wasn't finished, we started getting threatening emails. I got an email that said "we've now added interest to what you owe us and if you don't pay it by this amount of time, the interests will continue to accrue." I actually called  the phone number of the salesman whom I really liked and he said to me that he is no longer with the company. He gave a phone number of another guy in the company but he don't like to help us. This guy sent a different man to look at the job and they fixed a couple of things that my husband was really concerned about and at one pint in time they just showed up and I have a tutoring business in my home and showed up at the time of the tutoring business, they were on my roof hammering and doing all sorts of things. The last guy seemed to be much more knowledgeable. He sent a different guy, not the originally foreman who my husband was not liking very much. It as the lack of communication, I think was the biggest problem. I paid them the full amount and I really felt like they should have discounted us and they didn't. They were not cheap at all. I had somebody else looked at the roof and they came at a bid that was $4,000  under what they charged us but the difference was the company that we used hand nails them which does make a difference and my husband was adamant that we find somebody who hand nails them by hand so maybe that was part of the difference. The salesman, the second foreman and the last man we talked to was very professional. They were all very nice and very considerate. I will probably not use them again.

They did a really good job. It was completed right before Hurricane Ike hit Houston and the roof held with no damages. They weren't the cheapest, but the quality was outstanding.

Running a small homebuilding and remodeling operation, I simply have to express how throughly impressed I am with Petersen/Dean's operation. In the last few years I've used Brinkmann on five new residences here in the Houston area, and although I've historically been impressed with their quality and service, their current operation and personnel have taken the concepts of quality, service and efficiency to a new level. From J.J's personable style in keeping in touch by email, and his ability to get the ball rolling (always the foremost two reasons I kept using Brinkmann); Captain's quick response, and accuracy, on bidding the job; Lisa's efficiency in handling our account; and Maria's amazing, and personable, ability to be on top of everything and keeping me informed every step of the way once the project was scheduled; Victor coordinating things out in the field, and bringing the material and labor together to make it happen, while maintaining communication with me the entire time; down to your top notch installer, Alex and his crew on this last job, a six man roofing machine worthy of an Olympic gold medal.
What it boils down to, and it is obvious that this is not by accident, is that they have put together a team, and a process, that has made managing and supervising a construction/remodel project a much easier task for the general contractor of any size. That one acheivement is, in itself, of inestimatable, noteworthy value, for someone on my end, and is deserving of recognition at all levels. Many thanks for the excellent teamwork, and what a pleasure it is to work with folks who operate like a fine Swiss timepiece in this day and age.

A Brinkmann Roofing Company (division of PetersenDean) Rep, Ed Goode, came out and provided an estimate (one of three we got).  He was very professional and answered all our questions.  Ed offered us a discount on the shingles if we used the Oakridge Pro 30s.  According to Ed, Brinkmann had purchased enough of these shingles for an apartment complex job.  However, the job went bankrupt, and Brinkmann had all these shingles.
The crew had to deal with our solar hot water unit installed on the porch roof -- my husband disconnected and reconnect, but they removed it, put down the shingles, and replaced it., with no damage to the unit.  Big plus for them.  The roofers did make a couple errors.  The completion inspection revealed that the crew had not use sufficient amounts of nails to secure the shingles in the valley area where the porch roof met the house roof -- they fixed that.  Inspection by us revealed that they had used a 1.5 inch metal roof edge instead of the 2 inch that was called out in the estimate.  The Supervisor had one of the crew paint the newly exposed roof edge all the way around the house and porch (using paint we had).  They brought only enough plywood to cover one area of the roof that needed replacing.  When they found another small area, we had to supply a piece of plywood we had in the garage so they could complete the shingling.  Three minuses.  They did a good clean-up job, getting all the debris, especially the nails.  All in all, we were pleased with the work done by PetersenDean and this crew.
Even though the shingles were put down in mid-July, with the hot, Texas, summer sun beating down on the roof, it took 6 to 8 months for all the shingles to finally lay down flat.   The shingles are Owens Corning Oakridge Pro 30.  After a couple months, a discoloration of the shingles appeared on the Southwest corner of the roof, under an area shaded by a large oak tree.  Owens Corning said it was the tree causing the problem, not their product.  However, there is an oak tree shading the Northwest corner of the roof, and those shingles have not discolored.   After calling Owens Corning 3 times about the issue, and after being told each time "let's wait 6 months and see what happens", I put the issue on a back burner and will live with the discoloration (it looks like a permanent shadow).  However, I may never use Owens Corning shingles again.

We found some water staining inside that indicated a roof leak.  Brinkmann was one of the contractors we called for an estimate, expecting to have to replace the roof.  The other contractor came first, found the problem and told us that the roof was in very good shape and only a small repair was needed.  The Brinkmann estimator found the same problem, also confirmed the state of the roof, but also identified 4 other minor problems that needed repair - for the same price as the first quote.  Once the contract was signed, they arranged a quick installation.  The workers showed up on time and did a first rate job.

Overall a very positive experience.  I would recommend them to others.

I have used them in the past for many years for my rental and own properties.  What I like about them is they take their time doing the bid such that they include everything in the bid.  They help us do all the things we need to do with regards to providing information on permits.  They pull all the permits pool to pool because I usually have all this information sent to my account.  We need to have all the legal copies double and triples, and dealings with the community association.  They deal with the entire pile of paperwork that they need to do.  They are nice enough to do all that for us.  They are a little bit expensive, and the reason they are expensive is because they do all of that and they don't charge a small fee to do additional things.  The price is very competitive.  Their quality of work is good.  Their responsiveness is very good.  They respond in about 24-48 hours.  They always come roughly around 8-8.30 in the morning.  They usually work until about 4'o clock in the afternoon.  They come in smart vehicles and we know who they are because they always carry their ID's.  If they are on our properties, we know who they are and what they are doing.  They carry bonding and hazard insurance.

I called the company that replaced all our windows about 18 months ago.   He recommended Brinkmann.    Their salesman showed up on time and left a bid.  Brinkmann won the bid.  The workers did a great job, and they finished in one day.  They removed a roof vent fan and replaced the plywood.  They had to work around our two solar hot water panels.  My husband disconnected them, and the workers carefully propped them up to get at the roof area below the panels.  They sealed the areas around the brackets that held the panels to the roof.  Great job!   Their inspector advised that they needed to put more nails in the area where the house roof met the porch roof -- they did that.  Their clean up was a group event and done very well..  They got all the nails, and even used a yard blower to get the tiny debris out of the flower beds and off the concrete areas.   The only mistake they made was the metal roof edge.  The salesman called out 1.5 inch when he should have called out 2.0 inch.   As a result, the workers had to paint the small area of different color on the roof edge that the metal did not cover.  We had the paint, but  Brinkmann covered that extra labor expense.  Over all they get an "A".

Roof was installed in 2 days (it is a large roof) with some cleanup on the third day.  Everything went very smoothly and they did exactly what they said they would do. Workers worked very hard in 95+ degree heat and were well organized and professional. I would definately use them again and recommend them to friends.
