About us

Ohms Electrical Services has been providing quality service to the greater Houston and surrounding areas since 1981. Specializing in all forms of electrical service from residential, commercial, repair, maintenance, control applications, and more, Ohms Electrical Services is a small business of 25 employees that are dedicated to the ideal that the customer comes first. It is this ideal that has allowed Ohms Electrical Services to grow from a modest beginning specializing in residential repairs and maintenance to now being one of the greater Houston area's premier electrical contracting firms, with a repeated sales history of over 3.5 million dollars annually. All of our electricians are licensed by the state of Texas and fully insured. Ohms Electrical Services’ electricians have experience with both residential and commercial electrical work, ranging from troubleshooting to complete remodels. We are constantly in the process of continuing the education and experience of our electricians. They are dispatched in fully equipped service vans and trucks. We have a construction department for large-scale projects and a service department for small-scale projects and service calls. We offer senior discounts of 10% of labor at all times. We do not currently offer financing, however, we strive to work with our customers with payment options if arranged prior to service.

Ohms Electrical Services began as a solely residential electrical company in 1981. Today, a surge protector installed, before the work begins., if that is something you would be interested in, or your entire home rewired. Our electricians will give you a free estimate, we still have a large number of customers who have been with us since our beginning. Our licensed electricians can handle any task in your home, whether it be a plug that needs to be replaced

The electrician could not trace the circuit and so could not repair the outlet. Moreover, he went on to recommend that we use their CurrentSafe hazard detection service to diagnose the problem. This would have run at least $1600. When we called another company out for a second opinion, they were able to trace the problem circuit in a matter of minutes, found a loose wire in a junction box and quickly repaired the outlet.

Work went fine. Electrician showed up on time and seemed professional. Problem was that when I scheduled the appointment I was told I would have 2 guys for $105 per hour. Instead one guy showed up. When I called the office to complain, the solution was to lower the price $10 an hour. There was definite misrepresentation here when I made the appointment. I paid about $100 more than I should have.

Juan came out for the estimate, and returned with a partner to perform the work itself.  He was very polite, professional, and friendly, tolerating the occasional barrage of questions from me while he was working.  Between the two of them they spent all day (and returned a few days later to finish with labeling the breakers) at the house.  They worked hard, and I am very pleased with the results.

Had several electricians come out to give me a bid and these guys seem to be the most honest. I went ahead and did there "current safe" whole house assessment which is an all day assessment of your entire electrical system. They give you a printed and very detailed report at the end of it. Its a little expensive but gives you piece of mind in terms of your electrical system. They also fixed some minor things along the way for no extra charge. It also told me, which I already kind of knew and had bids on form other electricians, that I needed my break box, riser, etc replaced and brought up to code. They're bid was significantly lower than most bids I received and I feel like I can generally trust them more than others based on there patience and detail when responding to my dumb questions. Ive scheduled the work to be done but has yet to be completed but don't see why my review would change, If anything goes wrong I will update the review.



 Would recommend them to anybody and will use them in the future.

I called and explained that I thought I had a breaker problem as one section of the house did not have power. (I had turned them all off and back on the night before to see if that would fix the problem). He said he would send someone over. The guy was here within 20 minutes in a company van with his tool belt. He opened the box, popped off the cover, and went straight to checking the breakers. He found one that was loose and pushed it back and checked it again and said there should be power now. (It looked like it was in place but obviously was not.) Checked and he was correct. He then said it was a $84.00 service call. I said I had asked when I had called what the approximate charge would be and was never told about a service fee. He said he would call his boss and see what he said. I expected him to come back and say it was still $84.00. I was shocked, surprised, and happy to find the boss said there would not be a fee. I said I was willing to pay something but he said no, there would be no charge since all he did was just push the breaker back. I am highly impressed and would highly recommend ths company. Excellent service, promptness, professionalism, and HONESTY! (I had to put in a penny because it would not let me post with zero amount.)

I was very pleased. I usually only use businesses with a lot of good reviews on Angie's list but I decided to go with Ohms by the recommendation of a co-worker. Jennifer in the office is a pleasure to speak with. Robert and his assistant Juan did the work. They were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely use them again for all my electrical needs.

The work was quick and easy. I'm not comfortable working in the electric panel myself. The guys were friendly and knowledgeable. Ohms was quick to replay to emails or calls when I was trying to schedule the work. The price was reasonable.
