Description of Work: They put on a new roof and worked closely with my insurance company. I was well pleased with the contractor and the sales person. Someone was always checking on the job as it was being done. Cleanup was very good.

He knocked on my door, and said that they were doing services in the area, and would do a free roof evaluation, so before I let him in the door, I looked him up on Angie's List. There were some discouraging remarks from another customer about them, so I told him that I did not want to use them because of the remarks. The sales guy was an ex FBI guy and he was very nice, and he said that he would get the owner involved. So he brought the owner along, and they explained to us the whole thing that was going on with the customer, and he said that there was something shady with the customer. He said that the whole thing was being investigated, and they were taking the customer to court. I told them that they needed to post that to Angie's List, because I would not have used them because of that. They went up on the roof to do the evaluation, and said that the roof was in excellent condition, and that we didn't need anything. He left his card. I wasn't pressured into anything, and he didn't go up there and make a mountain out of a mole hill. He gave me a report, and said that if I ever need roofing service in the future, I should call them. They didn't charge me anything for the evaluation.

Oand S came out and inspected my roof. They noted wind damage; some new from the wind storm Christmas day 2012 (we were without power from about 10AM til after 11:30 PM) and some that probably went back to Hurricane Ike. Oand S was the 4th company that I had inspect the roof; and all 4 indicated wind damage. However; the others, when they found out who I had my Insurance with, said I was SOL. and quot;_______ doesn't do roofsand quot;; unless there are major areas of damage and significant missing shingles. (A fifth roofer, who was repairing a neighbor's roof, wouldn't even inspect the roof after I told him I had ________, he laughed and said that he could tell from 4 houses away that there wasn't enough damage for them to pay.) However, Oand S helped me file the claim and came out to meet the adjuster and tried to show him the damage. The adjuster stated, before the inspection, that the roof was 20 years old and roofs over 15 years need repair/replacement (he could have saved the trip and inspected the roof using Google). He didn't even want the contractor on the roof and didn't want his input. The claim was denied (surprise!!) and I'm having to wait until I can get the funds to pay for it myself. I thought Oand S were very helpful and appreciated their efforts. Unfortunately, I don't feel I can give them an and quot;Aand quot; rating only since I didn't have the work done and can't really evaluate the quality and punctuality of their work.
Description of Work: Unfortunately; I had problems with my insurance and O&S could not do the job for me. They were very supportive and one of the few contractors that would even try to work with me to get my insurance company to accept the claim. They did provide a very competitive cash price to help me when I can get the funds for the job.

Description of Work: On Aug 17, 2012, two men stopped by my driveway while I was mowing my yard and asked if they could inspect my roof, I said sure if it doesn't cost anything. One man (Omar Alghali) got his ladder and wnet on the roof. Meanwhile the othe man and I got into one conversation after another. Omar was on my roof for one hour to 1 1/2 hours. When he came down he told me he thought he could get me a new roof from my insurance co. (AAA). He made a call and told me at the end of the call that he had a claim #. My insurance co. told Omar they wold have to meet at my house one day next week. Omar called me on Monday Aug 20th, 2012 and told me to contact the insurance co. and have them meet on Tuesday the 21st of Aug at 12:00 noon as he had another appointment. So around noon on the 21st everyone showed up, Omar from O&S and Gary Chalmers of AAA. Gary brouught his inspector Cody which got on my roof and didn't come down for nearly 2 1/2 hours. They all talked a few minutes and left. This same evening Gary called me and told me while Cody was on my roof he had been giving signals to Gary meaning something looked wrong with the shingles. Gary told me evidently Omar had purposely damaged 100 to 150 shingles to make it look like they were damaged in a storm. Gary told me it would be up to me but I should file a complaint with the Harris Co. Sheriff''s Office as it is common to have one person distracting the owner while the othe does his thing!! I called the Sheriff''s Office and a deputy R. Coronado came to my house and I filled him in on what had happened and ge gave me a Case # of HC120117309 and noted my complaint as "Criminal Mischief". Yesterday, Sept 4, 2012 Gary and his investigator Doug Endicott of AAA recorded a statement from me for their investigation. I feel this was a case of Fraud and this company should be banned from Angie's List.

Response from O&S Construction & Weatherproofing
In response to the claims and allegations made by Member. O&S Construction and Weatherproofing made multiple attempts to contact Member on 9/5/2012. O&S Construction also attempted to call Member on 9/6/2012 leaving multiple messages with no response. The President and Vice President of O&S Construction and weatherproofing drove to Member's house on 9/6/2012 in further attempts to make contact to discuss the allegations. O&S Construction also contacted the insurance company’s representative as well as the sheriff’s department handling the situation brought on by the insurance adjuster and Member's allegations. No one (Member, the insurance company or the sheriff department) has made any attempt to contact O&S Construction regarding these allegations. We found out about the allegations from a posting on the BBB, which has since been resolved on the BBB website. We actively perused all and any avenue to resolve these allegations. We feel that these allegations are slanderous with no substantial evidence where the accuser, Gary Chalmers, is lacking proper credentials to make such slanderous accusations. O&S Construction was willing to have an unbiased engineer elected by both parties to do an inspection at the cost of O&S Construction with no cooperation from Member. We have made many attempts to contact the gentlemen at AAA (Gary Chalmers & Doug Endicott) with little notable success. As with, Member we have left multiple messages with Doug Endicott to discuss the accusations at hand. We have made brief contact with Mr. Gary Chalmers on two occasions in attempts to schedule a conversation with Mr. Endicott. Neither Mr. Chalmers nor Mr. Endicott have returned any of the calls we have made to discuss action. O&S Construction has also made several attempts to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy R. Coronado Unit# 45E11 to discuss the situation at hand and have had no response. Contact was also made to the “ladder assist” that inspected the roof on Member property requesting information on any credential that he might carry to make any such accusation against another contractor such as himself. Mr. Cody Skelton Holds no superior credential nor professional educational training to determine any un-surmountable evidence to make such accusations that lead to the issue at hand. August of last year, Mr. Skelton was involved in a verbal altercation with one of O&S Constructions’ subcontractors while discussing whether or not there was evidence of hail damage on a roof where we were contradicted by Mr. Skeltons opinion indicating there was no hail damage. On further examination of the roof by a certified consultant, the roof was approved for replacement due to hail damage with no opinion from Cody Skelton due to his inaccurate readings. His qualifications do not warrant his accusations. O&S Construction was more than happy to get an un-bias highly qualified and licensed Engineer/ Inspector to investigate this matter. Due to the lack of communication, in this matter and the slanderous nature of the accusations, O&S Construction and Weatherproofing has retained legal counsel to protect the reputation and ethics of our affiliates (Mr. Alagahli and Mr. Pruett) and our company. Our Lawyer Mr. Terry Yates has made contact with the parties at hand and no further development was made.

Description of Work: Brad from O&S worked with our insurance to get a whole re-roof done. it took a few weeks to work out the insurance, but when it was finally funded, they did quick work. There were two scheduled meetings that were not met due to "emergencies", but all in all the work was done in the correct fashion and I am pleased with the result.

From the moment I met the guys at O and S Construction I was impressed by their attention to detail and professionalism. They take their jobs seriously...the sales people as well as the construction crew. The insurance filing process was explained in detail and my claim was approved without incident. The building process ran smoothly and care was taken to protect our lawn. As a result of their due diligence and competitive pricing what could have been a painful process was a very pleasant one and I have a brand new roof with a 20 year warranty. I would recommend their services to anyone who needs roofing or weather proofing services.
Description of Work: O & S Construction performed a free roof inspection and worked closely with my insurance company and the adjuster to get me a new roof with a 20 year warranty. They met the insurance adjuster, handled all the phone calls and paperwork. The O & S crew removed my old roof, cleaned up after themselves and performed another inspection after installation was complete. Details were handled in a timely fashion and the project was completed in a day.
