Went to this place because it was close to home, took my old 2005 Hyundai accent with a known issue, an EVAP pump malfunction, first they didn't know what I was talking about, said that needed to take a look charge the diagnostics (OK with that) Said that they will call later around 11:00 and it shouldn't be too expensive. at around 4:00PM got the call saying it needed to replace Oxygen Sensor and reset Idle and the total cost of all the repairs would be $850... went to pickup the car the next day, everything seemed OK, i found the repairs way too overpriced... so overall charging 200 dollars for a 60 dollar part it gets expensive really quick. worst, drove the car for a couple of miles and check engine light comes back on with EVAP issue, took it to another place, simple hose and gas cap issue solve the problem. on the positive side they did replace a tire that was ruptured for another one that i provided for free.

Essentially this place will nickel and dime you until you leave. I took the car in to replace the belts. They convinced me to change the timing belt since it was about that time. After they replaced the belts I got a terrible noise on turning the wheel. Brough it back. they "adjusted" the belt. The noise got better but did not go away. Then my power steering started going out. Then the guy said my AC tensioner was going bad and that made the belt "stretch out" in two weeks and that he would order a different company belt. Basically at that point it began smelling very fishy and I knew I was being played. I let him replace the tensioner. The sound improved but the steering continued to have problems. I took the car to the dealership shop. Their evaluation was the who ever placed the belts on overtightened them, which caused the crazy high-pitched noise and made my steering pump fail. These guys are super dishonest, incompetent and I hope that karma gets them soon.

After a bit of a a wait (it was Saturday) they looked at the tire and showed me a long screw that had penetrated the at the shoulder area, creating an irreparable hole. They said a repair would not hold, and charged me nothing. Then they told me to take it to the tire dealer, and check to see if I had road hazard insurance. I indeed did, and wound getting a free tire from the tire dealer. So I'm writing to say I got good, honest and free advice from My Mechanic.

My Mechanic had put a defective oxygen sensor on my truck. They are totally incompetent and dishonest.
When I picked up the truck they said they had replaced the sensors but there was some other problem and they would have to take off the intake manifold to find a leak. This would cost at least $700. Because of the cost, I took the truck to another repair shop and they found out why the check engine light was still on. One of the oxygen sensors that My Mechanic had put on the truck was bad. Thank goodness I did not take it back to My Mechanic! I would have been out another $700 and my truck would still need repairs. They could not explain what the problem was, they would not take responsibility and they are awful!! Do not take your car there. I do not know where these A reviews come from. Another family member took their vehicle there and thought they were terribly overpriced and had trouble fixing the problem right the first time. I think the only way they stay in business is because the location is convenient and people do not know how bad they really are. I stand behind this review 100%. I hope others don't get rooked by them.
If I am ever harassed by one of these companies because Angie's List gives them my name and address and they want revenge, I will never give another review and will no longer subscribe to Angie's List. This intimidates users to not want to give negative reviews. Then what use is Angie's list if we can't be honest. We pay Angies list to use this and then we give the reviews for free. The list is only as good as the reviews that people post.

I drive a 2012 BMW 535i which had a 'run flat' tire go flat immediately after hitting a pothole on Bellaire Blvd. By chance this happened right in front of My Mechanic @ Kirby. I limped my car in there, explained what had happened and asked them if they could help me. Clearly I had the flat - but I thought I had a slow leak in another tire, so asked them to look at it as well. They took my car right away and after about 20 minutes came back and told me they did not have the kind of tire I needed - but they had called the BMW dealership on 59 and they had one. So - he would be happy to put the spare on for me so I could get to the dealership - and, they found a nail in the other tire and were patching it for me. I mentioned I had the BMW from the dealership downtown, so he offered to call them to see if they had the tire. When he came back, he said they did not have the tire - but, I had no spare tire either. He was very courteous and conscious that perhaps I would only want service done by BMW - so he offered to call so I could be towed - or he could run and get the tire for me and put it on - and he'd take me home while they did that. I asked if I could go to my office instead ......so, they shuttled me to my office in the Galleria, drove down 59 to get the tire, called me up about three hours later to say I was ready to go.....came BACK and picked me up at my office and took me back to get my car. The shuttle drivers were very courteous and nice - and drove VERY safely. I was just astounded at the level of service they afforded - and there were no other extras that suddenly got added to my bill. Just the opposite - they charged me for the new tire, but not the patch. When I asked them about that, they said not to worry about it - they were happy to fix it for me. I did take the car back to the BMW dealership to have them check out the tire and the mounting (because it is a leased vehicle) and they said everything looked great. So ....great work, great service ....what a find. I was truly lucky to have found these guys - would highly recommend them based on my wonderful experience.
