"Dear Ms. [Member name]: We are sorry to read your review, however, in reviewing our 2012 records we do not find any services, cleaning or otherwise for [Member name] or for the address given. The invoice for the service would show both your name and address and no invoice for the time period identified (indeed for the entire quarter) shows either. Perhaps your unhappy experience was not with Musee Ltd. Although the services of which you now complain are 3 years ago, our records are complete and do not contain your name or address in the 3rd quarter of 2012. In our 30+ years of cleaning oriental rugs, water is the medium for cleaning for all but silk rugs and does not cause a smell. If a rug has been repeatedly exposed to pet "accidents," even proper cleaning may not be able to remove the smell, particularly if the rug is machine made and thus of man-made fibers. Our objective is professional services which we do consistently deliver as well as good customer service. Again, we have absolutely no record of your cleaning, but if your carpet was cleaned with us we would have urged you to promptly contact us to resolve the issue."
Recommendation: take your rugs to Musse for cleaning, repairing, and up front disclosure of costs.
As I recall the process took several weeks to complete. The price was a bit higher than what I'd planned on, but I cannot argue with the results and the professionalism.
I spoke to Azim Alamshemas with Musee Ltd. directly on the first call and he was able to come to our house that day to personally assess our rugs. Bear in mind these were wet messes, bundled on the patio and covered in sheet rock dust as well as Category 3 debris. Azim and his assistant spread out the rugs and inspected the damage and provided an immediate assessment of both condition, value and necessary repairs.
Azim was very familiar with the insurance process and documentation necessary. He provided a written estimate on the spot including cleaning, post clean assessment, and restoration (including fringe trim and over-stitching). We signed off on the order and off they went with our rugs.
We were not in a rush to take back delivery of the rugs although Azim called about 10 days later to notify that cleaning was completed and that the Aubusson was permanently damaged due to color run, apparently from furniture. The kilim rugs were in good shape although in need of some work. A week later, Azim notified me the rugs were ready for delivery and I requested he hold them for a bit to which he said "no problem".
We finally went by the shop this past Friday and Azim personally gave us a tour of our rugs that had been completely restored, including the Aubusson. Absolutely beautiful work from the cleaning to the restoration. The fringe trimming and over-stitching was perfect. Even the Aubusson was perfect except the color run (from a piece of painted furniture). They look as good as when we purchased them in 1990. Azim and crew delivered them today. Since we will store the rugs for a few months, Azim had the rugs folded and tied along with rolled pads, all number matched to corners to ensure the custom cut pads matched the rugs. Nice attention to detail.
Azim is absolutely one of the most gracious, caring and conscientious people I have had to pleasure to work with. The quality of work is a reflection of his character and that of the people he employs.
They did an good job on the repairs and cleaning of the small rug. The repairs trimming that rug.
I would have given an F based on the holes in the large rug, but as I mentioned he did an OK job on the small rug. I didn't contact the owner about the holes in the rug because I figured there is nothing to be done to repair the holes.
Frankly, I don't know how this company received an overall review of "A" unless all the owner's friends and extended family submitted made-up reviews.
"We are sorry that [member name removed] feels that our services caused damages to her rug. We wish she would have contacted us about the holes instead of waiting one year and then making a conclusion unsupported by any evidence or factual knowledge whatsoever as she did in this review. Washing cannot make holes of this type, but moths make the type damage she describes. Instead of contacting us, as she assets she did, she instead makes an uninformed, nonfactual conclusion and, in leaving this negative feedback,unfairly damages our reputation. We note that [member name removed]'s habit must be to jump to uninformed conclusions as demonstrated by her baseless comment that the hundreds of legitimate Angie's List members who have favorably reviewed us over the past years "must be our friends and family," It is absurd to suggest that because of positive feedback for our services, all these Angie's List members, whose names and addresses are published in accordance with Angie's List process, are somehow "related parties." Notwithstanding the amount of time since the services were provided, we would still urge [member name removed] to contact us at her earliest convenience to discuss the holes in rugs which, as she describes them, are from moths and not from any washing process. We do have record of [member name removed] bringing 2 Indian hand-knotted rugs for cleaning in early July 2014. Both rugs were noted to have staining. The rugs were thoroughly cleaned, with the noted stains removed, and picked up by [member name removed] in mid-July 2014. At the time of picking up the rugs, [member name removed] examined the rugs and signed off that the rugs were OK. We do not have any record of any type of communication, call or email or letter or visit, from [member name removed] until her Angie's List complaint here. While approximately a year has passed since the rugs were cleaned, we want customers to be satisfied with our service and we would still urge [member name removed] to contact us to discuss the matter. We are confident that our service did not cause the small holes about which [member name removed] complains. Our washing process is by hand and does not use harsh or damaging chemicals or any sharp instrument of any type. We have over 30 years experience in cleaning fine Oriental rugs and no methods, tools, or products we use would cause such damage. Our experience in buying, importing, wholesaling, selling, restoring, cleaning, repairing,and appraising many thousands of fine, antique, semi-antique, and new Persian, Indian, Turkish, Pakistani, Russian, and Chinese rugs tells us that the damages described could not be caused by washing, but were caused by moths likely after return to [member name removed]'s home."
The gentleman at the store was very helpful and very knowledgable. I will definitely use their services again and plan on making our next rug purchase from this provider.
They were kind, warm and welcoming and did a good job. Carried the rugs in and out for me, and spent time visiting with me about their past and how they came to be located where they were with the massive inventory they have. I would use them again.
Azim was extremely professional and cheerful over the phone when I made initial contact. I delivered the rugs to his location and the service was complete in about two weeks, which is what he stated the time frame would be when I dropped off. When I picked up my rugs, they were brighter, cleaner, and smelled much better. They hadn't been cleaned in 7 years and he did a fantastic job. When I arrived at the store, Azim greeted me with the same cheer and professionalism he had on the phone, I paid for the service, and his helper loaded my rugs into the truck for me. I was so pleased with the service, I dropped off another antique Persian area rug for cleaning. I definitely recommend Musee, Ltd. for any specialty rug cleaning services.
Had a wonderful experience with Musee and Azim. Customer service is outstanding. Our rug (inherited with lots of stains) was picked up at exactly the time we were told they would be there and Azim had sent an email reminding us the day before about the pickup and then called the morning of to make sure this was still convenient for US! What a refreshing experience!
Two weeks to the day - as promised, our rug was brought back to us and they assisted us in getting it installed in the living room. Rug was much cleaner than I ever dreamed it would have been and smells great now!
We will definitely use Musee again for the other carpets in our home!
