Mission Air Conditioning

Unprofessional and Overpriced, I contacted Mission Air because my AC wasn't cooling. They sent a representative, who charged me $485.10 for installing a valve worth $25 dollars in HomeDepot and for flushing the drain line. Neither of the 'fixings' resolved the initial issue of the AC cooling but they still charged me. I hired another company which found that the AC had a gas leak in the condenser reducing the cooling effect. According to them, what Mission Air did was an "cosmetic" fix that did not address the main problem. My recommendation for future customers is to be aware of overpriced costs and unsupervised work that may lead into this type of service.

This was not the first time I've used Mission Air Conditioning. They gave me a second opinion about extensive repairs were recommended by another company, and told me no repairs were necessary. The unit worked faultlessly for almost a year until an unrelated problem occurred. On September 5, 2017, Mission found the 5 ton Trane coil was bad and arranged to replace it under warranty. MISSION is the BEST.

On July 13, 2016, AJ Warren Service Company, charged me $254.00 for a capacitor stating that was why the outside cooling fan was not working. The capacitor sells or $13.98 on Amazon. Jerry at AJ Warren told me the added cost is because they carry it on their truck, even though it's for a system that AJ Warren installed. WOW, a $13.98 capacitor for $254, what a deal. They also charged me $364.00 for 4# of Freon and told me I needed another $882 in repairs due to a leak at the suction drier line. On July 19, 2016, Royel, the technician from Mission Air Conditioning, said there is no leak at the suction drier line, and my AC has been working fine for 8 months. I wonder if I needed the Freon for $364.00 that AJ Warren charged me for. Mission Air Conditioning saved me $882. I will use Mission Air Conditioning for service in the future.

They were efficient, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.

They were on time. It was fine. There was just not a lot of feedback on what they did.

They were pretty straight forward. The work they did was part of routine maintenance of the system.   I would use them again.

I decided to upgrade to from a 2 ton to a 3 ton 14/15 Seer unit. I had service scheduled within 24 hours. The installation was smooth and by the book. The technicians were extremely professional and respectful. They carefully protected my floors, even though they're tile and nearly impervious to damage. They hauled off the old unit, and raised the cement pad under the exterior compressor to avoid future flooding issues. They made certain the new wall thermostat was operational and simple to use. I will definitely use them in the future and have already recommend them to friends and family.

It went to plan. My only concern is their pricing. Hindsight is 20/20. Here in TN, installation of the same product cost me only $3100 (parts and labor). Mission AC charged over $5200 for exactly similar work (same product, same labor). This would reflect price gouging to me. I understand supply and demand but the data shows pricing abuse, and that's a shame to see. If you are a consumer in the future, I would encourage you to pursue multiple bids. For reference the system works as committed and is well suited for a space less than 800ft2.

I called for an estimate and received an appointment for the next day. The estimator called 30 minutes before the appointment advising he was on his way. Once he completed the review had a price ready within minutes with an installation appointment option for the next day. The husband-wife install team were very friendly and did a great job in talking me thru what they were doing as well as presenting better installation advice given their hands on experience with this particular model. After they begin to reinstall the unit discovered that some of the previously quoted materials were not needed. They called back to the main office where they promptly issued a refund back to our credit card for the unused materials. Overall, the experience with Mission was A+ and would highly recommend as well as will be using them again myself.

My family and I had an outstanding experience with Mission Air Conditioning replacing our 20+ year old HVAC system.  Mission outlined several system options with pros and cons from the builders grade to the "Cadillac" model; we felt educated to make an informed decision.  The installation was great, Mission communicated with us each step of the way and were very thorough in every detail to get the system just right.  Every worker we encountered was professional and courteous and this has been one of our best experiences with a service company.  We are very happy with the new system and highly recommended Mission.

We started working with Mission early in the summer when our almost 20 year old system was not cooling the house. A technician added Freon, and we made it through the worst of the summer. In September, our old unit suddenly stopped cooling. I called Mission right before closing time, and Jose was able to get out to our house in an hour. We needed a new capacitor, which he had on the truck. The house was cool again after dinner. A few weeks later the system shut down again after we set the thermostat too low, causing it to work too hard and overheat. Although Jose got it going again, we knew it was time for a new system.
 
David Lewis (the owner) and I had a long talk about Ruud vs. Trane. David answered my questions patiently. Jose came over with some literature and sat at the table explaining various aspects of each brand to my husband and me. He took careful measurements of the very small closet where the system had to go and got us on the schedule for the upcoming weekend.
 
On Saturday morning Brent and Carolyn arrived to install the system. David and Jose came by to go over the final details of how to fit it into the closet. Because of potential flooding in our neighborhood, our compressor has to be raised several feet off the ground.  David was not happy with the platform that our old compressor was sitting on. He gave instructions to Carolyn and Brent to
build a new platform to his specifications. The new platform is a work of art. It blends in with our house and even garnered compliments from the city inspector.
 
Getting the new Trane system into the closet was an arduous task. At first Brent did not think it was going to fit. I was sure that sheetrock would have to be cut in the ceiling, but in the end the unit fit perfectly, and we even had room to put a media air filter below it without any need for sheetrock work or even touch up painting. A humidifier was installed (for winter), and the
thermostat was replaced with a new, state-of-the-art touchscreen thermostat that controls the temperature and humidity.
 
The new system is a thousand times better than the old one. It is very quiet and much more efficient. The old system was either blowing cold (or hot) air out full blast or not at all. This Trane system has infinitely variable speeds thanks to the DC motor in the compressor so once the house is cool (or warm) it drops to a lower speed to keep the temperature more constant without the "full on-full off" pattern of older systems.
 
We have had a lot of contractors work on this house in the 25 years we have lived here. Our interaction and communication with Mission was the best we have ever had with a company. Choosing Mission was a great decision.

Our AC quit this afternoon at 445 PM. We had used Mission Air Conditioning earlier in the summer to give it a freon boost and were happy with that service. Debbie answered the phone right away at 455 PM. She asked about scheduling us for first thing in the morning, but when I said it could not wait until then she arranged for Jose to come this evening. Jose called about 45 minutes later to tell me he was in bad traffic, but that he would be along soon. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had the part on his truck. He explained the work and the price and fixed the unit in short order. The entire interaction went very well, and I will probably use Mission to replace the system in the near future.

The work went well. They were clean and professional. Jose was great. He found a few small issues before they become bigger issues. The price was fair. I will definitely use them again.
