Master Mechanical A/C & Heating

Had a new AC installed by them 7 years ago. Nothing but problems ever since. Evaporator coil went out(leaked) the compressor went out. They have been back out at least a half a dozen times for Freon leaks. The warranty work they perform ends up costing more than other companies charge if they just bought the parts. I know this because I went that route before when they over quoted me. They charged me $1700 to replace a free compressor that was under warranty just to have problems less than a year later. This time they want to charge me $370 to add 2.5 pounds of freon when it can be bought for under $20 a pound at the time of this review. Was told that would be better than finding the leak and fixing the problem. Was told a leak test would take 2 days plus Freon and $80 for the dye and be much more expensive then just adding Freon. Paid a $60 service fee for them to take 5 minutes to tell me my ac had a leak which I already knew. In fact I told them that before they came out. These people are not honest and just want to get every penny they can out of you. I would avoid.

Master Mechanic will NOT provide warranty repair services. No reason is offered, and no reimbursement is paid back to us, not even after Mario himself agreed to in his own texts. Lies are just lies… We strongly advise people NOT to use this company. Read the texts and see what happened to us. Nobody should be the next victim!

I actually was referred to Master Mechanical A/C by a friend who found them on Angie's List. Started using them for our residential investment properties and then our business. Have been regularly doing so for the past seven years. Mario and his team are always the first guys I call when we have a HVAC issue. We have had them perform replacements for condensers, attic furnaces, evap coils, duct work, and other smaller A/C repairs. I trust them for their professionalism and directness. Their prices are always reasonable. I wish all contractors I deal with are as reliable as Master; it'll lessen a lot of stress when having to deal with emergencies. Only downside is availability during the busy summer months; they may have to schedule out a day or two in advance. But that's fairly normal for the sought-after HVAC contractors.

Completed the job in one day. Took care to make sure the system was balanced (temps in each room were the same).  Installed premium larger system for significantly less than other bids we had.  Owner involved to make sure job was being done correctly.  Very professional & easy to work with.

After a thorough inspection and assessment of the problem, various options were given to remedy the situation. There was no pressure to go with the high end (= more expensive) option. We decided to replace one of the units based on its age and high probability for future problems. They returned to complete the work as scheduled. They were professional and provided explanations on everything they were doing. I would highly recommend them and intend on using them for future a/c and heating work.

A week before the job, Jorge came out and we spent the better part of an hour looking over my system. Jorge's estimate was one of  the most competitive and did not change from the final bill. He recommended new duct-work and I am glad I took his advice. Once my old duct work was laying on the driveway I was shocked and how old and nasty it was. We talked about air flow, and he recommended another return vent on the other side of the house. On the day of the install the crew showed up on time and
completed the job with no issues. Jorge came out to check on the crew's progress and I asked if we could put a vent in our laundry room. We had discussed it on his first visit and I decide not to. I had changed mind after watching how professional his crew was. Jorge said "No problem we can do that. " This review is over a year old and we have had no problems or call backs. We are just as pleased now as we where when the system was installed. My electric bill has dropped sixty dollars during the summer months. If I have a heating or AC issues in the future or need a new furnace Master Mechanical will be the company I call.

I have contacted Mario (not sure who owns the business) annually over the last couple of years when our old A/C was not keeping up with the 90-100+ summers. He always confirmed that we had a slow leak and would add refrigerant to keep us going. Never pushed us to get a new system but quoted us anyway. This year I bit the bullet before it got too hot and told him we were ready to go with a quote on a budget Goodman or higher end Trane system he gave us before. His choice. He let us know that he could do us a lot better with a new Trane for not much more than the goodman (and less than original Trane quote). I believe it has something to do with all the construction and reconstruction in the Heights making them a volume purchaser so right now is the time!
We couldn't be happier. I feel better knowing we don't have such a rusty old furnace waiting to crank on next winter too. Thanks to all the guys who did a great job on our bungalow.

Masters Ac did a great job from the quote to the final product. I saw a coupon in a Angie's mailer for free duct work with a purchase of new unit. So icalled masters for a free quote he came out the same day and gave a very reasonable quote. After reviewing all three quotes we choose master. We called on a Wednesday to schedule a time for install (a week before Christmas) and he said he would install on a Sunday at 9:00am. Was on time and did a superb job was done before 3:00 pm.

These guys saved us! 
After receiving 3 bids, we had another company (Housepro) of come in after they said they would match Master Mechanical's bid and they BOTCHED the job!  Beware of Housepro!  They lied to us over and over.  Long story short, we kicked them off our property when they installed a unit that was almost $700 less than we paid for.  We realized we had a problem when we realized our 12 year old air conditioner worked better than the one they installed.
We called George and told him the urgency we had to have them come and evaluate the mess and see what they could do to salvage the mess.  He had an updated quote to us that same day and then scheduled the install just 2 days later.  Everyone, from the owners to the techs are very professional and accommodating.   They exceeded our expectations in that they installed items that we did not talk about, because it was the right thing to do.  Their bid was several thousand dollars less than their competitors and of course their competitors "warned" us about using someone that was cheaper than them because their bids were "dirt cheap"  LOL.  Right!  I used to own 15 rental houses and a 30 unit apartment complex.  I used to do a lot of the maintenance, so I know a little about HVAC.  These guys did not cut ANY corners.  I could not be happier.  You can trust them and I would recommend them to my friends, family and anyone reading this.  I wish I had this kind of trust and good experiences with all the contractors we work with.
