About us
As you know, there is no substitute for experience. We are experienced fabricators of all types of natural stone, are able to produce all required edges, and create polished cutouts for under mounted sinks that are unique and very serviceable. We have an A rating on Angie’s List and are able to provide references for both commercial and residential projects. Each project, regardless of size, is treated as a custom fabrication and installation which, we have found, is greatly appreciated by the person or company receiving this specialized treatment. Javier did an AWESOME job - we’re so happy with our granite! This was a complicated project because of the shape of our countertops, but he made it look easy.

I'm a property manager for 16 condos in the Woodland Heights Houston and have managed many projects, including condos being flooded (10 flooded condos after Hurricane Harvey). In short, I'm very experienced working with many contractors and specialty contractors on both large and small projects. I cannot sing enough praises for Ochoa Stoneworks, DBA Marble & Granite Resources, and Javier and Tommie. Great response time and communications, great pricing, great last-minute requests, great design advice, great overall! Trust me: I've worked with many similar vendors who've promised and under-delivered. Javier and team over-delivered and the job they did is FABULOUS. Tommie and Javier provided an estimate promptly. Once selected to perform the services, I was able to schedule a start date within a reasonably short period of time. They were absolutely fabulous. Very easy to work with, great price, always punctual. Helped us find the best price on granite (their supplier was 40% less expensive than our other fabricator's supplier). They bent over backward to provide excellent service. For example, they knew we were going to retile our backslash ourselves, so they removed the old backsplash while they were removing the old granite - saving us a few hours! Also, Javier did an excellent job lining up the seams for a very long countertop so that it was invisible despite having significant motion in the stone. My wife and I are extremely happy with them, and we love our new countertops!

When I contacted this company the customer service was prompt, professional and informative. When they came out to measure and give a quote they were very helpful with ideas. (Ideas to benefit me not the company pocketbook) within 5 days they demolished, cleaned up, put in granite counters/bar/bathroom counter. Afterwards, they explained very thoroughly the process to care for the granite counters. Surprisingly, they even used pieces of the leftover granite to put on my window ledge. Although my kitchen is small, the floor plan is very odd and was difficult to work with yet they still paid attention to detail! I am definitely going to used them for any jobs and will recommend to all my family and friends!

Javier & Tommie are simply great to work with. They are both very professional but also very friendly. We have installed granite in several other properties with other fabricators. This was by far our best experience.
We got bids from several fabricators. MGR was very competitive and offered better service in that Javier does the work himself and meets with you to lay out the counter tops and discuss finishes and details of installation ? no surprises. When the slab has variations the lay out of the cuts is important. Javier was great in working with us to get the most from the granite.
Also, after looking at about a dozen stone yards on our own, Tommie steered us to a stone supplier who had beautiful slabs at reasonable prices.
Be aware, some so-called fabricators are just jobbers. They solicit the job but sub out the work. They will also use cheaper prefab counters where possible. Red flags are you select stone from a sample, not an entire slab, and you can not visit the fabrication shop to lay out your counters.

"Since we did not perform any work for Mr. [Member name removed] it is difficult to understand how our work was excellent. While our work is most definitely far above average, our pricing for this project was only an estimate since three different areas were measured and no final decisions were made as to exactly what would be required in a final installation. A discount for Angie's List clients was given and all three areas that had been measured were totaled in the event all three separately priced areas were in the final decision. It is our goal to always provide the very best fabrication and installation for all our clients at a reasonable price with top quality workmanship."

Provider came as promised on-time, analyze the requirements and performed the cutting after carefully reassuring the cabinet space, etc. They were careful to not damage any areas of the kitchen and maintain the dust to a minimum. They clean up after the job was completed and help me move the Stove into place to assure they did the job correctly. Would highly recommend their services.

First put 1/2 bull nose on single edge of marble tile which I supplied and was unable to find bull nose for. Took me two trips to their shop as I did not figure a window in one bath. This was a hurry up deal due to installers in home and a bit problematic for the Ochoa's but they took it all in stride and came through. Javier came out and measured our three vanities once we had all our vanities in place and visited with us on edges and sink locations, he made suggestions on both and was spot on. We were able to utilize marble that they had remnants of, which saved us money. Tommie came out for the install. The end result was lovely vanity tops that are drop dead gorgeous.

Tommie and Javier were great. They recommended granite suppliers for us to pick our granite, picked it up from the supplier, cut, fit and finished things wonderfully. They had a fair price, good work, and did what they said they would do.

All we had to pay for was the install because we received free granite. They were so congenial. Everything turned out great.
I was able to find Marble and Granite through the Concierge Service at Angie's List and it has been a great experience. We're very happy with the quality. You can tell Javier knows his trade, and he does excellent work.

Javier and Tommy showed up on time for both the estimate and the work. They are both friendly and pleasant, and gave us a a very reasonable price. The work was performed efficiently and beautifully, and at the price quoted. We love our new bathroom counter and sinks, and our new cook top. I cannot say enough good things about this company. We are so happy we found this company, and will be using them again in the future. They have restored my faith that there are still good, honest people out there who do excellent work for a fair price.

Tommie called me the morning of the appointment day as promised, giving me the exact time of arrival. This made it convenient for me to meet her and the crew onsite. Pablo was the lead on the work crew and did an AMAZING job with a very technical project which involved cutting the counter and cutting old, solid wood cabinets and structure underneath. Pablo is a true professional and his experience really shows! An invoice was provided while they were onsite for the amount which we agreed to in advance.
I'm very pleased with the way the job turned out and plan to use Marble and Granite Resources for new bathroom counters in the future.

It went well. I think they were reasonably priced and yesterday they stopped by to make sure everything was fine. I told them I had several issues that had come up after they were done that they should be aware of. I did not like that and wanted to give them constructive guidance. Several things happened during the construction that they did not make me aware of.

"Just for clarification, the husband of this household disagreed with the manner in which we finish the edge of stone that fits next to refrigerators. It has been our experience over the 28 years of doing business that it is not in our client's best interest to put a laminated edge next to refrigerators. Unless the space is unusually large to accommodate the current or future refrigerator, then taking up 1 1/2" for a laminated edge usually leads to problems in the future when a newer and larger refrigerator is purchased. No one wants our company to return and make dust in their homes to cut down a countertop to accommodate a new refrigerator. Leaving an overhang of 1/4" with a flat 3/4" polished edge allows the appliance to be fitted close to the cabinet thereby eliminating an area for dirt to accumulate. Our decisions to do this over the years has resulted in a lot of satisfied clients and never before have we been told that we were scamming a homeowner by leaving the edge flat polished due to a mistake on our part. Also, we do tell our homeowners that the acetone that we use to clean our stone and the sealer that we apply to the finished work does have an odor. We request that pregnant women step outside while these products are being used. We have never had adverse reactions to these chemicals with any pets including birds. As this homeowner's bird was not in the home at the time of the application of these products, we did not find a reason to be concerned. We are sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding that occurred concerning these two very separate incidents."

would This was the 4th company I called to have a small section of counter to replace a drop in stove top with a range, 2 companies never returned my phone call, one basically told me my job was too small. We were just going to attempt to do it ourselves but decide to make one more attempt to find someone with the right tools. I called on Thursday, sent pictures and a description of what I needed done. Friday morning, Tommy called letting me know they would be able to fit me in that afternoon.
The crew called ahead to let me know they were on the way, they were extremely professional and very neat, cleaning up the bulk of the dusk the cutting process created. They took measurements of the range to ensure the new space was adequate. They cute out the required pieces, buff and polished the new edges and even slide the range into the space to make sure it would fit.
I would definitely use them again as they treated my small job as equally important as any big job.

Marble and Granite company installed granite in 2 bathrooms and kitchen. This included a desk in the kitchen as well as window sills in one bath and the kitchen. We had selected a 3 slabs with lots of movement and they were fabulous with cutting the granite without showing any seams. They were very cooperative in waiting to cut the granite until everything could be templated so that the continuation of the granite would be consistent. Both Tommie and Javier were very friendly and responsive. They showed up when promised and delivered the product without a problem. I would definitely recommend them for any size job. The crew was very professional as well.

I have a lot of experience with home renovations and I own several rental properties. I called several installers to get an estimate on installing marble countertops in my bathroom. I knew the minute that I spoke with Tommie that this would be the company I would choose to do my work. She was courteous and professional and scheduled an appt. for an estimate immediately. Tommie and Javier arrived at my home within 2 hours. Not only did they give me a very fair quote, but they also passed on their discount to me from the marble wholesaler. They were clean, prompt and clearly experts at their trade. They were so impressive that I hired them to perform some additional work with my left over marble. They even sealed my granite in the kitchen and gave me a piece of marble for free. I also had them install granite on two small bath counters upstairs. They had a remnant piece of granite that I liked and they gave it to me and only charged me for the install. In addition they told me where to go to get my new under mount sinks at a bargain price. I have a disabled parent that lives with me and i told them that i would need prompt service an communication. They exceeded my expectations. Extremely pleased from a very picky customer. AAA+.
