This was the easiest home project ever.  Lowe's Installed Sales department, at the Meyerland Lowe's location, did the job using their subcontractor.  Installed Sales has deadlines for each step of the project.  I went to the store, got a ballpark price for the attic ladder and installation, and paid $35 for a measurement appointment.  The subcontractor called within 2 business days to schedule the appointment.  The subcontractor called before arriving, and did arrive within the 2 hour arrival time for the appointment.  The measurement took less than 10 minutes. The installer said he would turn in his paperwork that evening and it would be sent to Lowe's the next morning.  The next day, Lowe's called me back with an estimate. I paid over the phone.  Since I decided to go ahead with the project, the $35 measurement fee was applied to the purchase price.  Within 24 hours (they had 2 business days) the subcontractor called me back to schedule the installation.  The subcontractor arrived within the 2 hours arrival window.  It took about 2 1/2 hours for the installation.  The subcontractor put down plastic and drop cloths to protect the flooring and furniture. He then removed the old attic ladder, installed the new attic ladder and added a coat of primer to the wood trap door and frame of the attic ladder.  It works great!
Installation labor was $244.  The remaining was for the attic ladder, shims, wood, etc.

It went great. I just got some odds and ends. They were fine.

I liked the ease of doing business with them. I could also run down to any Lowe's if I had a problem.

One small blip-- I'll describe it below. But, all of the installs went extremely well. I love my new appliances! I relied on reviews from other purchasers on the Lowe's site to help me make my final decisions.
As for the delivery people/installers-- Carl does the dishwashers and microwaves. Because I'm going to do some remodeling eventually, I couldn't have the microwave installed yet. But, the dishwasher is in and works great. I'd had a plumber in earlier who noted that the line from the sink to the OLD dishwasher hung too low which could result in water from the sink backing up in the dishwasher.

After Carl installed the NEW dishwasher, I took a quick look under the sink (since I'm now an expert on water lines!) and Carl had tied the line up exactly as the plumber suggested. He was also very professional, cleaned up after himself, took my old dishwasher away. Ultimately, just a great experience.
I had two different guys deliver and install the washer, dryer, and range. They also brought my microwave, but it's just sitting in a box. They came out on a Saturday night for the w/d, a little earlier than they'd expected (6:00 instead of 6:30 but that was fine by me!). They were professional, quick, tested everything, and even took the time to explain my new washer to me.
The range-- here's the only glitch. I'd ordered it at the same time as all of the others. Apparently the floor model was the last model as there is a new model out now but the sales person didn't realize this. So, the order got messed up. The delivery guys thought it was on backorder which kind of perturbed me since Lowe's hadn't contacted me about the backorder. I went into Lowe's Monday to find out what was going on and the appliance manager couldn't figure it out right away based on what the computer was telling him. He got someone on it, and by Tuesday it was explained what had happened.
I got the floor model which has all the warranties and everything but if I'd know that was what I was getting I would have dickered a little on the price. However, the same guys that did the w/d delivered it and-- I love them for this-- brought it before noon on Thursday even though they weren't scheduled until 4:30. They were in the neighborhood already so they called me to see if they could do the delivery. This was perfect as I was home for the plumber and dishwasher install.
Great guys-- everything was tested, just as nice as they could be.
I will definitely use Lowe's again. It really was a very, very good experience.

Chris, the salesman at Lowe's, was very helpful in setting up the order for their installer to come out to make measurements. The installer was quick to make initial contact, but after that his responsiveness progressively declined. When the installer first called we had to ask him to wait for some tile guys to finish their work. About a week later when the tile guys took a break, he came out to measure the door. Another salesman from Lowe's was nice enough to drive over to the house to get the contract signed. There were a couple of days when the installer could have installed the door, but nothing happened. After the tile was finished, the installer was not returning our calls to set up an appointment. Finally, we touched base with Chris again, and he got the installer to call us immediately. The installer did a very good job, so we were pleased with the end result.

I worked with Alexandra in the kitchen department. She was very efficient and helpful in guiding me through my choices. She even helped me pick out tile and grout! They came on time. They were reliable and dependable, and they cleaned up very well.

Everything was absolutely fine except that it took a week for delivery. They say next day delivery and that didn't happen. They claimed it was because one item was not in stock, but I don't know if that was the truth or not. I had hoped to get it the next day, but it was a full week. I set up the installation appointment for between noon and five; they showed up at seven. The salesperson was fine, the product is good, but the installation was not.

The floor looked good after the installers left, but it was a mess while they were here. I wouldn’t use those particular installers again to get any work done. They weren’t considerate about the mess that they caused to my property.

The experience at Lowe's purchasing the fans and then returning one of them was an exercise that would try a man's soul (the returned fan had been previously assembled, then "thrown" back in the box, sealed, and sold as new (with parts missing). Although Lowe's motto is something like "customer service is number 1" quite the opposite is the reality. Wasted time standing around trying to get some help, and inaccurate and misleading information (due to ignorance rather than malice) is the order of the day, every day. However, the Lowe's contracted installation company was very prompt and responsive, as was their installer.

Waiting to get them ordered was the slowest part. Once the date was set, the doors were delivered and installed in a 4 hour time span. The installation is actually contracted out to the door manufacturer. The men installing the doors were courteous and worked quickly.

We bought our dishwasher in the store and had a wonderful experience with the sales representative. When the guy came out with the dishwasher, I noticed that it had a huge dent in the side. I called and spoke to the representative, that had been so good to us in the store and she suggested that I let the technician install the damaged one, while she ordered a new one for me. I was hesitant, but she explained that she just didn't want to leave me without any dishwasher at all. She said when the new one came in, they would come back out and install it and take the damaged one away. A few days later, she called to set up an appointment for them to install my new dishwasher. I was very relieved that it turned out to be, so simple and that they really stood by what they told me. It only took the man who came out about 45 minutes each time to install the dishwasher.

Our cabinets, didn't even fit as the measurements on paper and the actual size of the cabinets were two different things. The whole remodeling project turned out awful and Lowe's actually stepped forward and paid for the entire project. Lowe's stood behind the work. I chose this company, because they had the best price around. Unfortunately, the work their sub-contractors did was horrible. The men from Lowe's were very respectful and professional. They responded immediately to my complaints and came right out, the first time I called.

I bought a grill as part of Lowe's late summer sale. They offered to assemble it for free, so I said "Hey, that's great. I won't have to mess around for an afternoon, and I can just use it right when they give it to me.'' Little did I know how long it would take, how much effort I would spend calling and checking to see if it was FINALLY done, and how dissatisfied I was with the entire experience. I called five different times, all after the required date on my receipt, and I was unable to speak with anyone who knew any helpful piece of information on 3 of the 5 calls. It took them over a week longer than promised, and I actually had to make several trips to the store to track it down. The Beechnut store is well stocked, but I would advise against having them assemble it. Just take it home and do it yourself to avoid the hassle.

The company provided assistance in choosing a replacement toilet for our 3rd floor that would provide sufficient flushing power at a reasonable price. They provided installation services through a contract provider which contacted us within the one week time stated at purchase. The toilet was installed within 8 days of purchase. They removed the old toilet from the property, installed the new toilet quickly, and the job site was left clean.
