Like A New Door came out to refinish my front door. The crew arrived on time. The refinishing did not go well. There were paint runs left in the door. Some of the clear finished was sanded off. The handles were not polished as promised. The bottom edge was not replaced. I gave them a call to express my dissatisfaction. They seemed concerned and offer to send a supervisor out. The supervisor came out to inspect the door. He agreed the door was not refinished properly. Rescheduled a week later. The second time around, the crew did not show up. I called them one hour after the appointment time. There response was the van broke down but they will arrive 4 hours later. I don't know for sure but the tone of the person I spoke with seem to have forgotten my appointment. The second crew arrived over an hour late. He explained the door is still wet from a full week ago and tried to refuse refinishing the door. I insisted the he refinish the door this day or call his supervisor to issue a refund. He started on the door. His equipment kept tripping my breaker. I found his worker looking in my breaker panel trying to reset my breaker. Wow! The door was refinished again. It was better than the last, but definitely NOT like a door again. The bottom weather stripping was not replaced and the door handle was not polished. The workers were not courteous. I have not received a follow-up call to see if I am satisfied. I would not recommend Like A New Door Again for anything!
Genuinely better than I had anticipated and really stands out!
Exceeded all my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone!
This company re-surfaced my fiberglass door and within a few days it began chipping and flaking within a few days. Had them come out again and redo the whole job only to have the flaking and now uneven spots happen again within two weeks. They installed a free weather strip which has limited the door from opening/closing without great force, even after being adjusted by them on a third visit. My biggest problem is the crew worked on the door in my front yard the second time and spilled chemicals (stain, residual stripped stain) in my yard destroying area's of my grass as well as washed out a bucket using my hose. The bucket also had chemicals (stain, etc) which they got on the side of my house (dark spots on the foundation now) and again, killed an additional portion of my lawn. Repeated phone calls (6) and I just kept being told someone would call back to schedule an appointment to fix the situation. Never responded after several tries to mitigate the situation.
I really wanted to like these guys as the ones who did the work were very polite and assured me customer satisfaction was their primary goal. Apparently not........ These were things which I just could not get past after shelling out $275. In the end my door is chipped and flaking and doesn't open or shut like it used to.
He and his helper arrived at 11:10 and went straight to work. The removed my door and covered the opening with paper. They removed the hardware, stripped the old varnish off and sanded down the door. BTW my door has raised panels and leaded glass lights that have molding around them. They taped up the windows then stained and re-varnished the door. They also polished the hardware (that was beginning to look pretty tacky) and now it looks BETTER than NEW! I couldn't be more pleased! They were prompt, courteous, professional and did a FANTASTIC job! I'm THRILLED!
