Though this electrician also subscribes to a la carte job pricing [ in spite of the fact that the going hourly rate for electricians in Houston is between $22 and $35 [see [*** Link removed ***] ], his estimates and proposed solutions are fairer and more reasonable -- for this area -- than many others who are taking advantage of the scarcity of electricians in the Houston area because of Harvey and massive apartment construction projects. BTW, the same goes for tile installers and plumbers. In other areas of the country this job would have cost 1/3 of what it ended up costing here.

These guys were innovative and got the job done beautifully! I won't reveal how they did it but I was impressed! They will be my electricians for any future work. P.S. They also fixed the ceiling fan light in my sewing room.

When the electrician tried to replace the speed switch, it was not compatible nor replaceable. I need to buy a new ceiling fan to run it on a lower speed. LIGHTNIN' ROD'S ELECTRICAL SERVICE is excellent! Great prices and very knowledgeable, polite employees!

He does a great job.  He's honest and fairly priced.  He's flexible and whenever I need an electrician I call him.  He also went to look at the work and let me know if there was anything wrong then wrote a letter for the owner who requested a letter from the electrician.

Rod came by to give me an estimate for the work and even called to let me know that he could be there earlier than planned if that worked for me. He was very friendly and professional and asked questions and discussed options to be sure he and I both knew exactly what I wanted done. The day for the work was set for about a week later (due to Memorial Day weekend coming up). He arrived a few minutes early but called to make sure that was okay. He and Kevin got right to work and everything was done just as we had discussed. He even remembered to mark the new garage circuit on the breaker box. The whole job was one of the most pleasant home service experiences I've had. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Rod had great communication. He stayed on top of the progress and called with updates. The work was clean and high quality. As a formality in the future I would suggest you the buyer have Rod provide not only the price of the work, but also details of the work on the quote. I had a great experience, but a little bit of misunderstanding, that was my fault for not asking more questions, could be avoided by writing detailed information on the quote.

THIS GENTLEMAN HAS WORKED FOR US ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE EXCELLENCE OF HIS WORK. HE FOUND SEVERAL THINGS AT OUR HOUSE, THAT HAD BEEN DONE BY ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN, THAT WERE NOT DONE CORRECTLY. HE IS VERY HONEST, AND FORTHRIGHT WITH HIS ADVICE AND HELP. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, HE WILL EXPLAIN ANYTHING IN GREAT DETAIL.
