along with accessories. The sales associate, Victor Heres, claims that the company needs to order some of the merchandise,
and explains that it would take a week for delivery. Based on the attitude of the staff, I felt uneasy about the purchase and paid with
a credit card solely for buyer protection services. I was assured that everything with the transaction would run smoothly.
After one week, I telephoned the company to see if my order had arrived. I was told by Victor that things were running behind
schedule and to give them another week. After another week passed, I called again. I was given more excuses and more of a run-
around. I threatened to cancel the order. I was told by Victor that he would call me back. I am still waiting for that call.
I received a telephone call from Josue Vanegas from JV Lighting, who advised me that he would be arriving Tuesday, September 17th
to deliver and install all merchandise. Lighting Plus was kind enough to get an installer for me, and even went so far as to attach
his business card to my sales receipt.
On September 17th, in the mid-afternoon, I still had not received my merchandise and had not heard from Josue. I telephoned
Lighting Plus to voice my displeasure and to cancel my order. The person who answered the telephone was irate and became verbally
abusive. This person later identified himself as the owner and properly counselled me on the fact that he has been in business for
over 30 years. I explained that with his company ripping customers off and not providing services as promised, that any moron could stay
in business. This man was out of control. I explained that his employee had been giving me the run around, and he vehemently denied
that his employee would do such a thing. I explained that his employee promised to contact me, and had failed to do so. The owner
stated that he would call me back. I advised him that I had heard that routine before.
The owner telephoned me back and started verbally attacking me again. He explained that my merchandise had been in the store for over a week,
I then told him that not only had his employee given me the run around, but that he had lied to me telling me that he was still waiting for the merchandise
to be delivered to the store. The owner promised that the merchandise would be delivered and that it would be properly installed the next day, for a fee.
This was news to me as at no time did the sales associate state that there would be installation charges on top of the price I had already paid. I then
asked the owner why an installer's business card was attached to my sales receipt if the installation wasn't covered. The owner had no response.
I asked the owner what type of operation/scam he was running when this wasn't explained to me at the time of purchase. The owner became
more agitated and explained to me once again about his owning a business.
All trust was lost and at this time, I wanted the merchandise that I had paid for. I called the installer and asked him what the price for installation was.
It took several calls to get an answer. I called my Handyman to get an estimate on installation, and it was quite lower. As I had selected my handyman based
on reviews from Angie's List, and I had used him for services before, I knew that there were no trust issues, and I could expect quality work.
On September 18th, Josue Vanegas arrived late to my residence with the merchandise. I explained that we decided to use someone else for installation who
was priced lower. Mr. Vanegas at no time attempted to negotiate a lower rate, and instead became angry. I paid Mr. Vanegas $20.00 for his trouble and to cover fuel expenses.
Mr. Vanegas then verbally threatened me.
I would never do business with Lighting Plus, or their associates JV Lighting, again. I currently fear that Mr. Vanegas will make good on his threats, and take some solace
in the fact that using another reputable service on Angie's List, I have adequate security with video installed in my residence.
Now I must finish this review and search for a reputable firearms dealer in the area for my protection.
