Because I was pleased with his service, I bought a Big Deal from Angie's List so he could come back to do more work (2 hours)at the discounted rate:2 hrs for $99.He would not schedule the work even though I had prepaid for his services. I am pursuing a discount from Angie's List.
"[Member Name Removed], You purchased your Big Deal Ticket on January 22nd of 2013 at 8:20 am. I set up the time and did the service call at your house on Thursday January 24th at 1 PM. There were many issues that you wanted me to look at:There was the plug in the freezer in the garage, the wine cooler, landscape lighting, and most important, the plugs in the bathroom on the 2nd floor right above the garage which had no power at all. That issue was not an easy issue to troubleshoot because it had nothing to do with the breaker or any GFCI plug in the bathrooms. I checked all that and started running our signal tracer through your wiring on the 2nd and 1st floor of your house. Finally, I discovered a burned plug and box in one of your outside plugs. Of course, I had to remove the burned box out of the brick and install new box and plug. As I mentioned to you, whoever wired your house originally, wired it against electrical code and an outside plug should not be tied to the GFCI plug of the bathrooms inside and certainly not the 2nd floor. That process alone took me around 3 hours and of course I worked on the rest of your items that day. I gave you a rough estimation of what needed to be done with the landscape lights. I wrote you a hand ticket and gave you two hours discount because of your Big Deal Purchase and charged you for an hour and a half for the additional time I used plus the small parts. You gave me a check for the difference. About 6 months later, you sent me an email that why I didn't fix the landscape lighting issues and I reminded you the estimate for that but never received anything from you and we were in the middle of two large remodel jobs and it would take some time to get back with you. You replied in your email that you would hire another electrician to do the job and at that point you never mentioned anything about the Big Deal ticket. I truly don't understand why after over a year and a half, you are claiming that you have not received the service for the Big Deal from us. Tony."
He covered the housecall himself because his other servicemen were held up on other jobs and he wanted to keep the appointment at the specified time. He was very thorough, checked the plugs that needed checking and sadly told me that the bathroom light fixture I had bought could not be installed on the wiring I had in that particular room. I had bought a dimmer switch but it was the wrong kind. As there was still time remaining on the two hour appointment, he went to the local hardware store and bought the correct one! I will definitely use his company again as he says he is very particular about the electricians he hires.

"Our policy is to give between 30 minutes-1 hour time frame while most other companies have 4 hour time frames. We give this smaller time frame when setting appointments because we realize your time is valuable to you. In this case, I called the day before to see if there was any possibility to meet that day and mentioned we might deal with heavy rain and flooding the following day especially because I was going to give an estimate for outside lighting and had to walk in the rain and look at electrical work. Unfortunately, there was a schedule conflict so we set up between 8:00-8:30 on the original appointment date. We knew the weather was bad and left the office earlier than I was supposed to for that distance and we knew it was the reopening of school at HISD. Even with all that, I was stuck in horrible traffic in the rain. At about 8:20, I called the client and told him I would be there at latest within 30 minutes. We do our very hardest to show up on time, but unfortunately we have no control over the weather and traffic in Houston. We were impressed with the final result and how they worked with us, moving and adjusting lights until they were "just right". The moonlight that was installed in the back casts a romantic glow over the pool area in the back yard. The rope lights around the outdoor kitchen say PARTY, adding just the right touch of fun.
